I do notice that Dr. Fauci has considerably more confidence from the public than any politician, regarding the pandemic. So people are smarter than some would like to think.

My thoughts as they have (yesterday) made it mandatory for those in public to wear face masks in my state:
If masks were effective then why were the authorities releasing prisoners from prisons and jails? Could they not have just give them masks?
if we all comply with the mask mandate and the numbers continue to rise, can we ditch the mask or will it still be a requirement although it will be shown not to work?

Just three months ago, in the United States we were told that we were selfish and un-patriotic if we wore masks! We were chided and shamed by the authorities because if we had a mask, that meant that First Responders did not have a mask! We were lied to and told that "masks don't work", yet encouraged to donate masks to those that the masks will "magically" work for them!
We know that the public is stupid and has not noticed the contradiction. I observed the early days of COVID in different countries. South Korea had an early spike, and responded with an early mandatory mask and social distancing policy. They have faired better than most anywhere I have seen. Of course, in South Korea, the majority of the population already wore masks in public before COVID. The lying fraud "Dr." Fauci, is unapologetic about his lies early on in the COVID crisis. I have no respect for his quackery; it is not "science."

The question is to what extent are masks effective? They are not perfect for sure. By shutting down churches and businesses, punishing those who do not wear masks... how much of this is designed to control people, or to test the gullibility of the populace? I do not believe that it started as a political means to gain power, but I believe that many Governors and mayors in America are using it that way.

I’ll be labeled a conspiracy theorist for this but I’m not that close to my feelings so idc. The masks are just a precursor for the next stage which will be mandatory vaccinations. (In the name of well being for everyone!)

If seatbelts save lives, why do we enforce drunk driving laws? Couldn't we just all wear seatbelts?
Fortunately, where masks have been worn by most people, the rate of infections is declining. And where they haven't, the rate is accelerating. So moot point.
