Give and you shall receive!!! What have you received??

wadr 1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it ?

Now if you did receive the Spirit of God, why do you yet glory as men, as if you had not received the Spirit of God?

Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

If you don't Believe and like Prosperity you won't like Heaven. No single wide trailers there. God won't give you what you refuse to receive. Your power in in your saying and believing and God loves to bless His family!

How do you know you are part of God's family ? -- certainly the fellow in the video you posted does not know.

We are saved by faith and faith comes by hearing the word of God, aka the bible. This is how it started with me. Bye.

"Salvation by Faith Alone" - Martin Luther's doctrine - "Saved by Faith" :)

Those that hear the word of God - sometimes hear different things !
Thanks. Saved by faith alone. True faith, which produces genuine works. Not for salvation, though. Sometimes I think we come from different traditions were the same words can mean very different things. Just an observation, not a comment on your post.
The word of God says...really, it's our understanding of the word of God. If we are honest. If our understanding of the word isn't doing what it's supposed to, then maybe there's something wrong or incomplete with our understanding.
I rely on the Holy Spirit's revelation when it comes to understanding the word. I do understand that most do not have the luxury of time like I do as I'm a disabled person. I don't work and my kids are grown.
I see you're a Canadian. So am I. You're from Edmonton, but I won't hold that against you. Lol Just kidding. I lived in Calgary during the 80s. I was a Flames fan. You know the rest. I do believe that if not for the Oilers, Calgary never would've won the cup. You are as good as your competition. There, I said it. Lol I live in Gretsky's hometown of Brantford. Go figure. Have a good one. Ron

I don't know what the Holy Spirit "revelation" is - or - maybe I do and just mistake the voices in my head for someone else - "Satan Perhaps" !? Joking :)

although ! not always sure where those voices are coming from - and neither are most people.

If you are saying that you can communicate with the Godhead directly - via the Aeon known as the Holy Spirit - then Wow .. I have some questions that I would love to have answered :)

So keeping in mind that when brother Sataniel shows up - She will not likely be dressed in horns and a cape ..albeit that does put a different spin on things .. who does one turn to ?

The word of God .. the inspired stuff - that stuff .. or leaving the OT aside - The Path of Jesus - the one set out by him - the one we put our "Faith" in. Whats that all about ? What did Jesus have to say .. best we can reckon.

Some wish to bring forth Pauline ideology - OK but what did Jesus have to say on the issue of salvation - how is it earned. The straight dope from the straight rope .. or as near as we can tether it ?

I put up Matt 5-7 - The Sermon On the Mount .. along with a few other passages which are clearly related to the theme that comes out of that Sermon ... that theme being how to get through the pearly gates - how to life one's life and so on...

Based on what I reckon .. ain't much "Sola Fide" - in that Sermon ... but if you feel otherwise - do feel free to point it out because, it ain't for lack of tryin on my part to find some ..

on the contrary - Jesus seems to mock the "Faith Alone" people in this Sermon ..

Matt 7 - Jesus is Summarizing 15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

so don't expect horns and a cape :) - but you can know they by their deeds .. their actions .. not how much faith they have.

Jesus continues - 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

This passage seems to say - Just because you have faith - doesn't mean a free ticket.

What is interesting is that Jesus then says what you do need to do... so the reader/listener is not left to wonder

"Only those that do the will of the Father" - and we know what this is because it is in the Sermon that he has just given .. this statement being in his summary of that sermon..

we can make a list of all the thing Jesus attributes to the will of the father .. Don't kill, Don't steal, Don't shag thy neighbors wife and a few other of the "Commands" are covered. but we knew this from before - OT 101

he then gets into the new stuff - Judge not lest you be judged, love neighbor as self, let ye who is without sin cast the first rock##,

and he sums up succinctly the entire Torah and the NT in one rule - Matt 7:12 - The Golden Rule - the above being various restatements of said rule.

Do unto others as you would be done to you mon .. Rasta Jesus say - dis be da rule that sums up everyting .. sall dat matters. .. just have faith in dat say da Man.

Matt 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

SEE mon - everytin summed up for ya in one passage .. but if ya need more convincing .. Jesus continues .. repeating for the 3rd time in his summary - that faith does not cut it.

The Wise and Foolish Builders
Matt 7: 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Can hear the words and repeat "Jesus Jesus" all you like .. but it is the putting of the words into practice that matters.

This them is echoed in Matt 25 - Sheep and Goats parable - again where Jesus is acting as Judge at the end of days.. very specific imagery - dividing the sheep and the goats .. who gets in and who doesn't - in terms that are not vague... deeds - deeds - deeds .. just like in the old days ... in near every religion that has existed.. Nothing has changed in this respect .. sans "redemption" forgiveness . -- but not as a blank cheque to do what you like and all will be redeemed at the end .. that is not what is intended ... such would be a corrupt ideology IMO.

"Salvation is free, but it will cost you everything." This is a saying that has panned out well in my life. I just started a thread on the wise and foolish builders. Have you read it already" Or is it a Holy Spirit "coincidence?"
Anyway, when I first heard John 3:16 it was like it pierced my heart and I believed it. I also believe that at that time, I was found not guilty in God's court of law. And my spirit was born of incorruptible seed. I believe this means that my spirit can never sin again.
The word that pierced my heart planted a seed of the word in my soul. Which, I believe, among other things, is where the garden in my heart is. The seed of the word was planted in this garden.
The soul is the sinful part of a believer. This soul consists of one's mind, will, and emotions. In the middle of this garden is a well from which living water flows.
Long ago when an enemy wanted to harm you, he would sneak up to your well in the middle of the night and throw garbage, thorn bushes, snakes, poison, and other nasty things so you couldn't drink the water and neither could your livestock. If you tried to clean it out, you had to watch out for the thorns and snakes.
It is my understanding that this is what the enemy does to us. If he can't stop us from becoming believers, he'll do his best to stop us from maturing. He treats our inner man like it's a garbage can.
The only way for us to be obedient to God's law is to die to self and have Jesus live in us. when I first came to the Lord, I lived in Him. After enough garbage was cleaned out of me and I died enough to self, He came to live in me. The hope of glory that also worked out well for me.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Jesus and I have been at this for over 20 years and we're not done yet. Awhile ago Jesus told me that my heart was finished being circumcised. He could now move freely through me, which is great. Once during intercession, He moved through me though at the time I didn't know what He was doing. I saw Him do it in the spirit when I saw a sideways whirlwind fly out of my belly. I believe it was the whirlwind of the Lord.
A few days before, I was outside and saw a new neighbor. I stopped to say hi to her. She turned towards me and I felt something grab my spirit firmly. As I looked at her, she was showing off her body to me in a sexual way. I struggled briefly and broke free. We went our own ways.
I later realized that she had tried sex magic on me. 4 days after the whirlwind came out of me, I went outside and saw that she was moving. I talked to her briefly and she didn't try it again. I think God freaked her out. She knew she lost the struggle. I hope she knows it was God. I think she does.
She had a blue pentagram outside her door. I looked it up and decided she was part of a freemason's witchcraft group.
Anyway, I couldn't get my quote to work properly so forgive me if I miss something.
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes or daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe there is one God. Good. Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous by what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the alter? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. James 2:14-26 NIV

God tells us how to know we are part of God's family.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
Source: 20 Bible verses about Believers As Sons Of God

Quite a vague passage - at least on the surface... perhaps you can explain more later but regardless - this passage does not answer the question of how we know we are part of God's family ?

and I would like to know for certain if you have figured this out so the floor is yours.

actually we are saved by grace

Sure - when at the pearly gates Jesus has grace on my soul - which he will allocate on the basis of my deeds- I get through the gates. Matt 25 - sheep and goats parable .. and Matt 5-7 - Sermon on the Mount - numerous places.

As a Lutheran - I know the concept of Grace very well - we being the inventor of the concept :)
Grace is an apology for Sola Fide ... "Not saved by Deeds" - which not in keeping with the words of Jesus if taken as deeds don't factor at all into the equation.

We become members of God's family when we choose to believe, confess and repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior!!

OK - that's fine .. but - "Not all who call Lord Lord" will make it through the pearly gates"
"Blessed are the poor in spirit - for they shall inherit the Kingdom of Heaven"

believing in Jesus - calling out his name - will not help you at the end of days - other than if you had the good sense to follow his instructions.
Believing that Jesus died to wash your sins away will not do you any good. You still have to pass Judgement - and that is based on deeds - and not the depth of your belief that your sins will be forgiven - other than your thoughts both convict and absolve you ... but not the "faith" itself". that will not help you .. faith that results in action will help you .. but not faith alone - according to scripture.

It is the doers of the word who are justified in the sight of the Lord - not the hearers of the word - regardless of how many sermons they listen to or how many times they attend church .. or sing praise Jesus.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!

Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13 GOD SAYS=

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be Saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto Salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be Saved...................
