"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Gen 2:7
What is still here is the empty shell of dust [the earth]. God breathed into man the breath of life, but then man partook of the forbidden fruit and Life was effectively destroyed according to God. The earth [the empty shell of flesh from dust] remains, but until Jesus made Life possible again, everyone was really "dead men walking".
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit." I Cor 15:45
From destruction to Life!
Give God the glory!
The earth destroyed by Water
and Fire. Death and resurrection Life. Why those two: baptism of water and by Fire? For the body and Earth both to be glorified and restored in Christ. What does the water baptism signify? Genesis 8:9-12 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. [10] And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; [11] And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. [12] And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the
dove; which
returned not again unto him any more.
Why a raven first that went forth to and fro?
Then the dove sent out(of heaven), having no place to rest she returns. UNTIL she finds a place for peace to rest :Mark 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
John 1:31-32
[31] And
I knew him not:
but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. [32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove(in bodily shape), and it
abode upon him.
I’ve been studying the baptisms. Maybe you can, please, point to any misunderstanding I may have. John’s baptism was with repentance. Christ’s baptism without repentance...
irrevocable.
John 3:24-27
[24] For John was not yet cast into prison. [25] Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews
about purifying. [26] And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and
all men come to him. [27] John answered and said,
A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Which answers the question: Mark 11:30
[30] The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
John’s baptism was of men. that is why John said I must decrease and He increase.
Which helps: Acts 19:2-6
[2] He said unto them,
Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. [3] And he said unto them,
Unto what then were ye baptized? And
they said, Unto John's baptism. [4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. [5] When they heard this ,
they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them,
the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Romans 11:29-32
[29] For the gifts and calling of God are
without repentance. (Irrevocable)[30] For as ye in
times past have not believed God, yet have
now obtained mercy through their unbelief: [31] Even so have these
also now not believed,
that through your mercy they
also may obtain mercy. [32] For God hath concluded them all in unbelief,
that he might have mercy upon all.
