Hey all! I was just reading 2 Corinthians and these passages stuck out—

18] All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
19] that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men's tresspasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20] Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.

As Christians it is our duty to represent Christ on Earth until His triumphant return. How have you built God's kingdom today!? I shared some Bible tracts and told people that God loves them :D

    Amen!!
Yes for sure...the Good News is telling them that through Christ God has reconciled man to Himself through the death of His Son. .
It sure beats 'hell fire' preaching! Which is far from the Good News.

Lewis M. Eisenberg is the U.S. ambassador to Italy. No, its not that important to this conversation other than to illustrate a point. I picked Italy because I have been to Italy and San Marino.

I am not the ambassador, but when I went to Italy I was on a business trip and also did some site seeing. But I conducted myself as an American citizen as best I could. I was leary of a reputed reputation of Americans that Europeans may have believed. I wanted those I met to look favorably on me as an American.

How does this relate to 2 Cor 5? Well, when Paul speaks of ambassadors in this verse he is speaking of the Apostles. Not all Christians. Just as not all Americans visiting Italy are ambassadors like Eisenberg. Wgen reading this and other like verses, we should keep this in mind.

Notwithstanding, my illustration also says we can also be ambassadors in a much smaller (but not necessarily less impoetant) role. Its just that we don't speak for the president as Eisenberg does. Likewise, Paul spoke in Christ's stead to us.

So I am not disagreeing necessarily. Just trying to set the record straight.

When He knocked, I let Him in...which I count as His "triumphant return", and this is my witness on Earth. It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me.
