That belief is not a valid option anymore (and anyone who holds to it is sorely deluded). The United States has not been a Christian nation for some time now (if it ever really was, though Christian influence in it was very strong at points in its history). I agree with the other posts on here which opine that God is judging this country--the move away from Biblical Christianity is his judgment on the church in this nation for giving place to the devil: attempting to conform herself to the world and not to her Lord.

We can not know how far God's judgment will go, how long he will stretch his hand out upon this nation in judgment. It deserves a thorough thrashing (as every single one of us does), but I pray that the Lord will be merciful to us, to have mercy on his remnant that remain here who cry out to God for mercy on our weak frames which the Lord knows to be but dust.

The United States was never a Christian nation. Sure, it had plenty of Protestant and Catholic influence, but that's not the same thing as the nation itself being Christian. The founders made sure that while certain legislative and procedural laws were based on what is written in the Bible, they also made sure that the country wouldn't be ran by any 1 religion. America was fundamentally built differently than the Islamic theocracies in the Middle East and OT Israel.

While many "Christians" say that a person cannot know how far God will go in punishing America, the superb irony lies in the fact that they are supposed to know because their own bibles show it. The problem is that the "Christians" who say such things erroneously assume that America would exist as a superpower in the last days and that God would have nothing to say about it.

If these people actually understood their bibles, they would know that God gets awful specific about the extent to which America will be punished in the future. There isn't a single thing that is happening now that wasn't already prophesied in the OT, especially the frequency of these mass shootings.

The Bible disagrees with you on the premise that God doesn't want forced religion OT Israel was a theocracy, and the world that will exist in the Millennium will be a theocracy. God's word will dictate how people will live their lives, and His word will be the only one that matters.

In 1 Sam. 8, God clearly says that it was not His original purpose for humans to be allowed to rule over themselves. All a person has to do is apply a little common sense when looking at the state of this world and the Pre-Flood world to see why that is the case: man simply doesn't know way to peace or harmonious living apart from God's laws. Protestants, Catholics, Buddhists, Shintoists, etc. all had their chances to produce a utopian society apart from God's laws, and they all failed. It should be more clear now to a professing Christian than it ever was that a government where God dictates every facet of life is the only one that will ever work.

Jehovah handed the world over to satan when the rebellion first happened in Eden. He had a very good reason to do that....to show the devil and all whom he would be able to deceive, that when you leave God and ignore his laws, nothing good can come of it. A record would be created of all the devastating consequences of man’s rule under the devil’s influence, establishing precedents that would stand for all time to come. This was so that no rebel would ever be able to abuse their free will and defy the Creator again. Experience is the greatest teacher.

Every issue raised by the devil in Eden would be answered in a way that could never be disputed....Jehovah gave the human race over to the ‘god’ they had chosen to serve. He basically gave them “enough rope” and we are now living in the final moments before the ‘hanging’.

I find it sad to see that most who are born and raised in the US have no idea how the rest of the world perceives America and it’s chosen way of life......no country in the world is not suffering from the consequences of humans thinking that man can solve the problems that he himself has created.....
