Any denomination or sect that denies the five fundamentals of the faith is not Christian though they may have many Christian doctrines. These are the five fundamentals:

FIVE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE FAITH

There are five fundamentals of the faith which are essential for Christianity, and upon which we agree:
1. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1; John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8-9).
2. The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27).
3. The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28; Romans 3:25, 5:9; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:12-14).
4. The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36-46; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 15:14-15).
5. The inerrancy of the scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6-7; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20). [1]

I cannot say definitively but those who believe you can lose your salvation for the most part deny #3 That puts them on unsure ground soteriologically.
So you, or the church, gets to inform God whether such and such is saved according to your 5 fundamentals? So those 5 requirements for salvation comprise your creed? I always nervous when someone or some institution offers salvation on conditions they stipulate.

same faith?

not if you think that after your quote "saved" you can rob banks, murder the gaurds, spend the cash on drunken revelry with whores and still be saved, die without repentance or confession and go directly to heaven?

1 pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Lk 1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
(The deeds of righteousness)

Romans 2:7
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

(((Unity of faith)))

Ephesians 4:13
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect uman, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

So, by their reckoning, Mormons and Modalists are still Christians, despite polytheism and Modalism being heresies. That is a problem.
I can't answer specifically. I know of saved Mormons and saved modalists. they are steeped in serious doctrinal errors but ONce again teh formula for being saved i confess that Jesus is Lord (that is not merely blurting out a statement) and believe in your heart that Jesus physically rose from the dead. After that I leave the rest to god. As sects of Christendom (external Christianity) they are unsaved by doctrinal beliefs.

Both believe the blood of Jesus is not enough to erase ALL sins.
And yet a Christian, someone who is truly saved, cannot deny any of the things I presented, along with many more. From Rom. 10:9 alone, "confess" and "believe" imply the necessity of faith. Confessing "Jesus is Lord" implies salvation through Christ alone. Implied in "God," is that there is only one God. Monotheism and salvation by faith through Christ alone are absolutely fundamental.
Christians down through the centuries have held to many doctrines both a stretch of Scripture and just plain wierd. God knows their hearts. If they are externally striving to live godly loives and believe and trust solely in Rom. 10:9 we should accept them as brethren even if we disagree in the non fundamentals.

That list knocks JWs out totally-- BUT IF THEY WERE ON HERE now they would say they agree to those. deception is just that- deception..

1. Deity of Christ- JW- we believe he is deity and divine.. what they mean--- a god- = created archangel)
2. Virgin Birth- JW --Of course- we believe that! what they mean--- -----Michael's life force was put into Mary's ovum
3.Blood atonement- JW--Of course we know Jesus died for our sins-- what they mean --your physical death causes you to become sinless.
4. Bodily Resurrection-- JW-We believe Jesus ROSE.-- what they mean-- Michael's life force went back to haven so God could recreate Michael. Jesus' the man is dead forever body is gone forever.
5. Inerrancy of Scripture- JW Yes we believe that- what they mean----- because we fixed the bible.
Agreed. they are very religious and hold many truths. But denying the physical resurrection of jesus and His blood paid for all sins- sends them to the Lake of Fire.

what do we do with these?

mk 16:16 he who believes and is baptized shall be saved

Mt 10:22 he who endures to the end shall be saved

rev 2:10 overcome to receive the crown

thks
Keeping these verses in their proper context shows they do not have to do with salvation, but deliverance from horrendous situations.

Also when one believes they are baptized-into the Spirit.

No, these were declared by devout men of God who studied the Scriptures.

These are biblical conditions. Example a JW can get saved by trusting in the death and physical resurrection of Jesus. They may still deny the trinity and Jesus physical return but they will in time because the Spirit will reveal it to them

People get saved not as biblical scholars and can carry much false doctrine because of their upbrining, but if they are saved they will conform to those five fundamentals. Once again these are biblical mandates and not some contrived thing by any denomination bur comprised by many denominations in meeting over a century ago. If saved they will remain in the body, but if it was just lip service they will eventually leave or be shown so by Jesus in the final resurrection of the lost.

I know. The subject was surrounding the Pentagon removing some of the so-called "Christian Faith Religions" from the roster of hiring Specific "Chaplains" for each individual group. I looked into why? and I found that each "Chaplain" for each Group, no matter where they are scattered around the globe, cost the American taxpayers, $190k a year plus housing, meals, travel, and whatever else they added as part of their "job description" per chaplain.

And right now we been doing a little housekeeping trying to reduce some expenditures that might be used a better way.
There originally was over 200 different categories of "Christan Faith Religions" so each category would get a piece of the pie.
The Pentagon decided to consolidate those 200+ down to 31.
That didn't set too well with a lot of umm denominations.
And that's what I was trying to bring attention to.

Not so much what their faith was based in, but should they even be considered "Christian Faith Religion"
Because that is how they listed themselves to be able to have "Chaplains" .
That included, Buddhism, Wicca, ..
There is a list on the first page of this thread I think of the 31.
I dropped a link that had all 200+ somewhere.

So that was the purpose of this thread.
But if you all choose to carry on in whatever capacity regarding Faith and denominations,
The thread is open, carry on.
:D

By definition, they cannot be saved. Salvation rests not only on Jesus’s work but on who he is. Mormons and modalists believe in a Jesus and God who are not the Jesus and God of the Bible. Being a Mormon and being saved are mutually exclusive.

Both believe the blood of Jesus is not enough to erase ALL sins.
Another reason they cannot be saved.

Christians down through the centuries have held to many doctrines both a stretch of Scripture and just plain wierd. God knows their hearts. If they are externally striving to live godly loives and believe and trust solely in Rom. 10:9 we should accept them as brethren even if we disagree in the non fundamentals.
The problem is, the things I have listed are not "non fundamentals;" they are fundamentals. That is why that list is seriously deficient and misleading.
