Most of you have heard of the Abraham Accords, the deal first signed in August 2020 between Israel and many of her neighboring Arab countries.
I have heard the idea that this agreement is the beginning of the covenant with many that the anti-christ confirms ushering in the dreaded seventieth week of Daniel.
I left this in the debate section to finally get down to the whys and why nots of that.
So are the Abraham Accords the beginning of the covenant with many?
Why or why not?

The "covenant with many" refers to the deceptive covenant made by the Antichrist (no one else). And since he is yet to come, the Abraham Accords are simply another attempt to get the Middle East to simmer down.

Please note carefully: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Dan 9:27)

"He" is singular and refers to "the prince that shall come" or "the prince of the covenant" or the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition, the Beast of Revelation 13 or the Little Horn of Daniel.

"The covenant with many" would be a deceptive covenant with many Jews to allow their future temple to function as a temple in Jerusalem. Plans are already afoot for the building of this temple.

"One week" is one heptad (Heb shabua) or period of seven years, which is the 70th week of Daniel. In the middle of that week (after 3 1/2 years) the Antichrist will cause all temple sacrifices to cease, and place the Abomination of Desolation within the Holy Place. This will trigger a series of divine judgments called "desolations" here and described in Revelation under the judgments of the 7th seal. "Even until the consummation" until the whole earth is devastated, and the judgments of the 6th seal are poured out (the shaking of the heavens and the earth). All of this will be followed by the Second Coming of Christ.

Well thank you Enoch, you singlehandedly solved this thread. I'll leave it here for those who are curious.
