Good word there, 'pugnacious'. There's plenty of Scripture evidence for all the Five Points. Even as their is a lot of evidence also for human responsibility.
It's an ongoing, practical learning to say:'Thy will be done'.

What scriptures are you referring to that Calvinists ignore or pervert? Any samples?
So you didn't believe already when you chose to believe? Why else would you choose to believe if you didn't believe?

It’s a continual washing. I guess maybe it’s why Paul states the cares of this world are not even worth considering. After all it was the joy set before him that enable him to endure the cross.

In and of myself, I am nothing.
2Co 3:5, Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Jhn 15:5, I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Phl 4:13, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I think that when anyone understand the above verses, self-esteem goes out the window...which is not to say that the believer is incapable.
I and of ourselves, we are completely inadequate...but with Christ, we can do the impossible.
If I believe the testimony of Jeremiah 17:9 when I hear it, does that mean that there was something inherently good in me? if that were so, to believe it would not be in the basis of reality.

1. Scriptures which reveal that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that He is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world.
2. Scriptures which teach that since the whole human race is under condemnation, God commands all men everywhere to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and that all may be saved if all will obey the Gospel.
3. Scripture which reveal that even though mankind is in a fallen condition (a) sinners can and do obey their conscience, and do righteous deeds as though the Law is written in their hearts, and (b) the power of the Gospel and the convicting and convincing power of the Holy Spirit are sufficient to bring men to Christ, following which they receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and are regenerated.
4. Scriptures which teach that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and that saving faith is not a gift given to a select few, but can be generated in all human hearts.
5. Scriptures which reveal that God invites "all the ends of the earth" to come to Him for salvation, and that no one is excluded and they exclude themselves by refusing to come.
Sounds like the insanity which has taken hold of the Left Liberals and the Democrats.
