I typically do carnivore with a lot of fatty red meat as a base. High fat seems to agree with me a lot. And red meat is actually very nutritious.Wyonna,
I have experience with carnivore. It's a good diet but I made a few additions that are beneficial for me.
Here is my typical day WHEN I'm following my diet:
10 am:
Greek Yogurt with added blueberries. I also eat a handful of walnuts. All three have anti-inflammatory properties and great gut probiotics.
2 pm:
Apple
4 pm: cantaloupe
6 pm:
Apple
8 pm:
1 pound of skinless grilled chicken.
11 pm:
Bedtime, hopefully. If not I'll snack on a portion of pretzels to take the edge off of any hunger so I can fall asleep.
I also weigh myself every morning to know how I'm doing.
One problem for me is that I like cheese but it's murder on weight loss. I know it's carnivore but it inhibits weight loss.
Also, chicken breast has fewer calories than red meat and so weight loss happens faster eating that. Fish is also phenomenal, as long as it's not deep fried, lol.
I love Greek yogurt but I typically don't eat it on carnivore.
So far, I've learned that my body prefers a lot of animal fat in a day. It makes me feel amazing with a lot of mental clarity and focus.
We tried ketogenic but for us it was hard to keep up with enough calories on it.
This is our 4th time going on carnivore. So far, my husband lost 90 lbs. I lost 30lbs but considering the meds I was on, that was pretty good.
