There does have to be rules. But where the rules are in sensible dispute we must let every man settle the matter in his own heart and mind, and respect it.
God teaches us what we need to know. I think you should have inserted a comma after "dispute," and I would have used the word "do" instead of "does."

God chose a nation. A peculiar nation. Chose them to be an example to the world.
He brought them out into the wilderness where they had no one but him to depend on.
He already showed them his power and his strength by opening a path betwwen the sea for them to eascape.
They were not ignorant of his power.
But they had no faith.
Did you just bring us out here to die?!
He fed them with manna.
Just remember one thing. Don't go looking for it on the 7th day, because I'll be resting.
I'll give you twice as much the day before so you don't have to go hungry. And the 7th day you can rest with me.

You know, some of them still went looking even after they had enough for 2 days and were told not to.
They couldn't keep the law. So some of them fell.

We have no water! Did you bring us out here to die?!
So he gave them water.
Still they had no faith.

God brought them to Mt. Sinai and because of the stubborness of their hearts, he gave them laws.
Laws he knew they couldn't keep. They couldn't keep them because they had no faith in them or God.
How many times God punished them. How many times he took them back.
Over and over and over.. and still they couldn't keep the law.

God got real angry. He put some stuff in those laws that if they continued forever, it would of lead to worldwide genocide.
Because everyone was a sinner. Everyone couldn't keep the law.
But here's the thing..
The law still needed to be satisfied. It needed to be filled to the letter. And there was not one person in heaven or on earth or under the earth that could keep it.
The only one who could keep the law, was the one that gave it.
And the penalty for breaking that law was death. And everyone broke the law. Except one.
So, God knew that the only way to fulfill it was to come and do it himself.
And he filled the requirements for anyone and everyone who was ever brought under it.
And then destroyed the death penalty itself.

Now, here we are in the wilderness. You have been born again. Freed from Egypt.
You have a journey ahead of you.
The only Law God asks of you is to Love him, trust him, have faith in him.
And to love your neighbor, the same way he loves you, because we are all guilty and stand before him naked.
Now if you love God and have faith in him and let him lead you to the promised land,
then you will do the things that please him, because you love him and he loves you.
This means you won't lie, you won't steal, you won't kill, you will respect your parents,
you won't take anything that belongs to your neighbor. And you won't mess around behind your spouse's back.

So now here comes the Sabbath. God gave us HIMSELF. He is the manna in the wilderness. He is the water of the Rock. He is our Rest.
All we need to do is have faith and believe that he will provide for us and we enter into his rest with him, because he already done all the works, we couldn't do to justify ourselves.

Because none of us are capable of keeping the law that God gave to Moses.
God tried that, we failed. But He didn't.
We need to put all our faith and trust in him that he will keep us in alignment with his will.
His law is written in our hearts and in our minds. We know what is right and what is wrong when it comes to how we should conduct ourselves with God and with our neighbor. Jesus showed us how. He set the example for how we should care for each other and how he cares for us, himself.

Can we do this?
Ummmm....
somedays look better than others.
But we still have a long ways to go.
Maybe we'll get it before the final judgment day.

Love one another.
Peace

Jesus NEVER broke one.
i never said He did :)
He broke the added regulations the Pharisees tried to impose.

If He had broken even ONE, He would have been a sinner.

1 John 3:4
a point there might be that it was a common perception that He did break the Sabbath and other laws, however; we have the advantage of insight there i guess

What is the Law?

In the ancient world, national identity was based on a chosen god.

Chemosh was the god of the Moabites, Molech was the deity associated with Ammon (1 Kg 11:7) The Philistines worshiped Dagon. (Judges 16:23)

The distinguishing characteristic of the selected god is the days and rituals that are observed. If you observe Bodhi Day, you are likely a Buddhist. If you observe Ramadan, you are likely a Muslim. A Hindu would observe Rama Navami. A Jew would observe Passover.

The days you observe is how the people that see you identify your religious preference. They observe your respect of specific days as associated with a specific god. That is your witness. There is no ethnic or gender distinction.

To put this is secular terms, the US Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. The Torah is the Constitution for God's people. That Law of Liberty was given to the children of Israel. It was also given to the rest of the mixed races of people who left Egypt with Israel. God said “the same Law applies to the native born AND the stranger that lives among you. If you obey it, I will bless you. If you disobey it, I will curse you.”

If I obey God's Law, he promises to bless me. If I disobey his Law, he will curse me.

Fifteen hundred years after the Law was given, Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the Law. That means, if we disobey God, he will not curse us. On the other hand, if we obey him, God will continue to bless us.

Galatians 3:21-25
Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
(If there were anything in the Law you could perform to erase your past sins, then righteousness would be attained through the Law.)

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
(The Law identifies all of us as sinners. Only by belief in Jesus can one receive the promise.)

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
(Before we received this faith, we were protected by the the Law. It kept us from sin until Jesus was revealed through it.)

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
(The Law was the written instructions that enabled us to identify the Messiah.)

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
(We can now observe what Jesus did. HE NEVER BROKE A SINGLE LAW. He challenged the religious authorities of His day. He responded to Satan AND the religious leaders with “it is written.” That's what “following Jesus” is.)

The Law is the instructions in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:15-17

It tells us how to oppose those who would try to control us with their man-made doctrine. It is how we defend ourselves against the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.

Nike is the Greek goddess of victory. Laity is the common people. The doctrine of the Nicolaitans is “victory over the common people.” Jesus hates that. Revelation 2:6

The Law is the revelation that Jesus is who He says He is. He is revealed throughout the Law and the Prophets. (Luke 24:44)

The Law is the authentication of the Messiah. The Law is the documentation of the evidence for Jesus being Messiah. The Law is what Jesus came to fulfill. The more one knows about the Law, the more they know about Jesus. It is truly that simple.

The Law:
Observe THESE days, not THOSE days.
Eat THIS, not THAT.
Have sexual relations with THIS person, not THOSE persons.
Be honest and kind to everyone, including the heathens.

Romans 6:15 The Law I observe tells all who see me who my Master is. Am I obeying God's Law, like Jesus did? Or, am I observing man-made laws? One set of laws leads to death. The other leads to righteousness.

Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

The law of God is the commandment and word of God.

The Torah is the Constitution for God's people.

The law of God given by Moses in the OT has been changed to the law of Christ in the New.

The law of Christ is for God's people today. Not the law of Moses.

Fifteen hundred years after the Law was given, Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the Law. That means, if we disobey God, he will not curse us. On the other hand, if we obey him, God will continue to bless us.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Transgressors of the law of God are still of the devil and not of God.

Saints in Christ Jesus, who are no more transgressors, are not cursed of the law of God, because they are not transgressing the law of God.

Transgressors are still condemned by God as transgressors.

The Law is the revelation that Jesus is who He says He is.

The law shows God means what he says: The soul which sinneth it shall die.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

The law shows us we cannot keep the law as Christ, without faith and love of the law of God in the heart.

I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

The doctrine of the Nicolaitans is “victory over the common people.” Jesus hates that. Revelation 2:6

Very true. Not many Christians pay attention to this.

Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

I believe Nicolas of Antioch was the first proselytizer of Christians to his own doctrine of faith, and went out from among the apostles to establish his own organization of churches, of which Diotrephes was a local Nicolaitan minister.

My hope, daily, is that people would look at me and say, "oh, I see you are circumcised in the putting off of the deeds of the flesh, and that you have entered into sabbath rest from your evil work of the flesh. You worship the God of Israel."
Lots of folks walking around completely blind to the good of God. As God increases His good in you, do not be surprised to find yourself becoming then very invisible to many others. Some of them perhaps have no real existence and when their fictional vision is gone, what will be left?

Some people say there are 600+ commandments, others 10, others 2. How do you define the law?
The term "the law" is used in several different ways in Scripture and the context will determine what is being said. It can apply to:
(1) The entire Old Testament (OT)
(2) Just the first five books of the OT (the Torah or Pentateuch)
(3) Just the Law of Moses (Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy)
(4) Just the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20)

As to the Ten Commandments, they have been distilled by Christ into (a) the two greatest commandments (found in Deuteronomy) and then into (b) just the one great commandment (love).

Or it could refer to this, perhaps:

But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33 RSV

well, wherever you are?
Some people believe that Heaven is "a state of mind". But the Bible says that it is actually a place -- a region -- and within this region is a heavenly city -- the New Jerusalem -- which is a vast cubic city 1500 cubic miles in dimensions (1500 x 1500 x 1500). There are no cubic cities on earth, and neither are there any cities on earth with twelve foundations.

I suppose that's better than flashing around your physical circumcision scar.:D

Who do you serve?
If Jesus is your King, then you are in the Kingdom of God.
You are either in or out.
And if you have to see it to believe it, you aint in it.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Hugs
