He asked a doctor if a disinfectant could possibly be injected since it kills 95% of germs. And they are testing different things like light and everything. Who knows? He isn't a doctor and doesnt seem like the smartest question to ask, but yeh. He wasn't saying go do it.

Why not? He's trying to tell America all that is going on as each new day dawns.
I guess we'll just disagree on that. I don't think a nationally-televised briefing on a pandemic that's killed over 50,000 Americans and has caused untold suffering of millions is the appropriate place or time for the President of the United States to sarcastically spit-ball ideas about treatments.

You just said, right there, that it was not Trump who caused the shortage.
That's like saying someone who cries fire in a theater didn't make other people run. Trump's remarks helped cause the shortage because people heard the President saying something and took it seriously.

I know I might cop a bit of backlash here for posting this, you may be a Trump fan or you may not be, but just making sure you know, it's definitely not recommended for anyone to follow Trump's suggestion on injecting disinfectant.

Here's an article on it.

'It's irresponsible and it's dangerous': Experts rip Trump's idea of injecting disinfectant to treat COVID-19
Having read Trump's statement he was saying why can't we make something that we can inject that is as quick and effective as disinfectants.

Of course the media went on the attack again.

He wasn't suggesting shooting up pine-sol.

In context, which many miss, there was a hint at a study of using light inside the body to kill viruses, something being looked into since this light is used in hospital and lab rooms to disinfect, so, Trump then talked next about disinfectants, and asked "...and is there a way something like that could be injected?"

Yeah! What if you took a deep breath in front of a flame thrower? Wouldn't that kill the virus?

Just askin'.....or being sarcastic.....or...........something

LOL. I can hardly imagine someone stupid enough to Stand IN FRONT of a flame thrower let alone conclude... that hey, "if the flame doesn't burn them the noxious fumes inhaled will kill a virus"...
Funny.

Actually, the person died because they took a different form that was in aquarium cleaners. I believe his wife specifically said he took it because of what the President had been saying.

Sure. But again, that situation was not the time for the President to be spit-balling questions, or be sarcastic.

Questions are most appropriate.
And answers are most appropriate.
Being Stupid is also allowed.
Questions, answers and stupidity are accountable to each individual.

I guess none of that matters now, since he's said he was being sarcastic. I definitely think that was not the appropriate time or place for a President to engage in sarcasm about treatments.

I guess then he was lying today when he said it was sarcasm. And yes he can ask all the questions he wants during a televised national briefing, but that doesn't mean he should.

He says awkward things at awkward times, but it is not a crime. And people don't have to go shoot up Lysol. If they ever do, I'll not vote for him. But asking a hypothetical question? Media has too much time on its hands to even focus on a headline like that. But no, mandatory vaccinations are what is bad and guess who supports tightening vaccine restrictions?

Maybe so, Maybe not...unprovable and irrelevant according to yours or my opinion.

Yipes, which is it? You want as much information as possible or you do not?

He says he was being sarcastic. I think it's terrible for a President to engage in sarcasm during a national briefing on a pandemic that's killed over 50,000 Americans.

I've never fully understood the link between Christianity and anti-vaccination. I have some ideas, but they're not very flattering.

I don't get my info on the pandemic from this President.

I'm for vaccination, but I'm also for being able to study for my children what they can and cannot take. Thus far, my daughter has had all of hers. Id never approve of a vaccination including computer technology inside of it. If it had Lysol, Id have to hear what professionals said. Im even wondering if this is what they mean by experimentations with light and why he said it was sarcasm. But a hypothetical question is a form of sarcasm as well. And why are all the briefings televised anyway? Do they have to be? If media doesnt like what he says, why do they bother?

I've heard that heat kills this virus...we should all be getting saunas, lol.

Usually with the flu, moving into warmer weather seems to disarm it. But look at Italy, most of the country was in the 70's last month. The lower to middle of the country is on the Mediterranean sea. One would have thought that their severe COVID-19 problem would have cleared up by now if heat killed it.

Well, in much of this Media misrepresentation, Trump is his own worst enemy. His ego has him loving to argue. (Something I consider kind of self-defeating) And, he goes on and on, running his mouth until he has finally given them probably close to a hundred different ways to misrepresent almost anything he says, anytime.
I get a giggle out of Trump's approach to maintaining his presence in the news. This guy is not stupid. His mantra in maintaining his profile, is there is no such thing as bad news. For him, the only bad news is no news! There is not a day goes by, that he is not featured somewhere in the news, and it seems to be working for him.

In Canada, we recently had a candidate for prime minister, Andrew Scheer, who instead of learning from the master, he criticized Trump's style. He was so quiet and polite, that come election time, less than half the population had even heard of him. While he managed to squeak in as leader of the opposition, the rest of the party realized he was no leader! So their first act in the new government was to have him replaced with a real leader!
Trump is smart!! He is a true leader! He knows how to play the game.
