I guess we'll just disagree on that. I don't think a nationally-televised briefing on a pandemic that's killed over 50,000 Americans and has caused untold suffering of millions is the appropriate place or time for the President of the United States to sarcastically spit-ball ideas about treatments. Why not? He's trying to tell America all that is going on as each new day dawns.
@Angelina I think you guys in NZ had quite a bit of a showman in Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, at times... :)
That's like saying someone who cries fire in a theater didn't make other people run. Trump's remarks helped cause the shortage because people heard the President saying something and took it seriously. You just said, right there, that it was not Trump who caused the shortage.
Having read Trump's statement he was saying why can't we make something that we can inject that is as quick and effective as disinfectants.I know I might cop a bit of backlash here for posting this, you may be a Trump fan or you may not be, but just making sure you know, it's definitely not recommended for anyone to follow Trump's suggestion on injecting disinfectant.
Here's an article on it.
'It's irresponsible and it's dangerous': Experts rip Trump's idea of injecting disinfectant to treat COVID-19
Imagine Al Gore telling jokes that anyone would laugh at...That's like saying someone who cries fire in a theater didn't make other people run. Trump's remarks helped cause the shortage because people heard the President saying something and took it seriously.
Mr M was quite a character...Well he seemed to like being involved in musical comedies, yes!
Yeah! What if you took a deep breath in front of a flame thrower? Wouldn't that kill the virus?
Just askin'.....or being sarcastic.....or...........something
Actually, the person died because they took a different form that was in aquarium cleaners. I believe his wife specifically said he took it because of what the President had been saying.
Sure. But again, that situation was not the time for the President to be spit-balling questions, or be sarcastic.
I guess none of that matters now, since he's said he was being sarcastic. I definitely think that was not the appropriate time or place for a President to engage in sarcasm about treatments.Questions are most appropriate.
And answers are most appropriate.
Being Stupid is also allowed.
Questions, answers and stupidity are accountable to each individual.

I guess then he was lying today when he said it was sarcasm. And yes he can ask all the questions he wants during a televised national briefing, but that doesn't mean he should.Eh, I don't think it was Scarasm...but no matter, he can ask all the questions he wants.

No one said it was.He says awkward things at awkward times, but it is not a crime.
He says he was being sarcastic. I think it's terrible for a President to engage in sarcasm during a national briefing on a pandemic that's killed over 50,000 Americans. But asking a hypothetical question?
I've never fully understood the link between Christianity and anti-vaccination. I have some ideas, but they're not very flattering.Media has too much time on its hands to even focus on a headline like that. But no, mandatory vaccinations are what is bad and guess who supports tightening vaccine restrictions?
I don't get my info on the pandemic from this President.Maybe so, Maybe not...unprovable and irrelevant according to yours or my opinion.
Yipes, which is it? You want as much information as possible or you do not?
No one said it was.

I've heard that heat kills this virus...we should all be getting saunas, lol.
I get a giggle out of Trump's approach to maintaining his presence in the news. This guy is not stupid. His mantra in maintaining his profile, is there is no such thing as bad news. For him, the only bad news is no news! There is not a day goes by, that he is not featured somewhere in the news, and it seems to be working for him.Well, in much of this Media misrepresentation, Trump is his own worst enemy. His ego has him loving to argue. (Something I consider kind of self-defeating) And, he goes on and on, running his mouth until he has finally given them probably close to a hundred different ways to misrepresent almost anything he says, anytime.
