Does it concern you that gospels were written so many years after Jesus died?

Lived and died.
I think Paul's letters were written before the gospels.
John was written about 70 years after Jesus death?
It bothers me. How can the events described in the gospel be totally accurate.
Are we all just too gullible?

How can the events described in the gospel be totally accurate.

2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Because the all knowing God, who does not lie, inspired the writers.

The scriptures are 100% reliable and factual.

The answer to that question is quite simple. Since God is the Author of every book, you can be perfectly confident that the Gospels are accurate and true.

How do you know exactly when the Gospels were written? No one does, and it is all purely conjecture. But the books of the NT were being circulated in the churches while the apostles were alive.

It is possible that the Gospels were all written between 40 and 70 AD. But we definitely cannot rely on the opinions of the liberal critics, since they have not been objective, but allowed their biases to determine how they would deal with the Bible. Paul was familiar with the Gospel of Luke, and Peter called all of Paul's epistles Scripture.

Just because you speak so authoritatively and dogmatically, doesn't mean you are right.

I believe Jesus was and is the Son of God.
I don't know he is.
See the difference?
That's why there is a word called "faith".
"Faith" is different to "know".

You mean you believe God was there. You don't know.
Well, if you cannot be certain about this fundamental fact, you might as well throw up hands and give up. Since God created the universe, and He is a living God, He also created His written Word -- His revelation to mankind (which is also a living Word).

@saintiaint

I shutter at the thought of not having a dependable guide from God (the word and the Holy Ghost).

I lived that way before I got saved. It’s an evil place to be in: there’s a very real relentless enemy (Satan) seeking who he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

The only way to overcome Satan is by the word of God.

You are not on good ground right now.

No it's a rational place to be in.

1 Corinthians 2:14
...the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Doubt is not a dirty word.

Matthew 14:31
...O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Doubt was detrimental to Peter. He would have drowned because of his doubt unless the Lord saved him.

And faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

That's one way. It's not the only way.

And what are those other ways you think there are to overcome Satan?
