Seems like - subjectively speaking - some men can indeed pull it off, right?

    Oh sure.
But, you know, like, I can't imagine my husband with one!

Well, I guess it always would always start in the imagination, with the perforated earlobes becoming the reality only later. (In your dh's case, as you say, it's evidently not even in the imagination...)

Now doubles are thoroughly widespread and totally mainstream.

As is ink for women as well as men.

    Oh Agreed.

But I DO NOT like the ear being pierced from top to bottom.
    This is unsightly to me.

People are doing things to their bodies now that is horrific and demonic.
    I think you'll agree.

I agree @GodsGrace, nowadays I don’t know if I ought to look at a woman or read her, they are tattooed from head to toe, not appealing to me at all, and all the piercings look atrocious.

Agreed. It's bad enough for a man to be tattooed all over, but on a woman it looks even worse. Too many piercings...there's no respect for the human body. They do this on purpose to be different and to make a statement..which is even worse than doing it because you like how it looks ....which some do it for this reason.

There's like, some basic change going on. I used to think this was to get us ready for the mark of the beast...but it's gone way beyond that.

Like I said,,,some little thing could be pretty and acceptable...
but too much of it scars our personhood.

    I like your new avatar.

Thank you sister, I like yours as well.

I notice a lot of these women that do this like to be looked at and lusted over, I don’t like it, one or two aren’t bad, but when they’re on certain parts of the body, it’s trashy.

Goodnight GodsGrace, sorry for the typos, I’ve corrected them, my phone auto corrects, you’re right sometimes it’s the opposite and a man looks at it in disgust.

I agree; one or two aren't bad.

But like you say, sometimes it's really over the top.

I think it's a geographical thing. In some areas and countries, it's a very widespread custom. In others it's not. I don't see anything wrong with it, if it is the custom. Fine if they don't do it; fine if they do.

This and tattooing are obviously subjects you have given a lot of thought to, unlike me as I just don't care either way.

In a sense I agree with you, really, @Pearl. Some are evidently against ear piercing for men; some ppl are evidently against tattoos; you don't really mind either way; and in a sense I share this same thought; there's a also sense in which I like to blow the cobwebs away from people's thinking and point out that some things are matters of doctrine and others really are not...

What about nose rings or tongue and belly button piercings? I really dislike those.

I guess in the end it's not always a question of like or dislike. In Genesis, Rebekah was given a nose ring by the servant of Isaak, as a token of the confirmed union. In Ezekiel 16.12, the Lord Himself gave Zion a nose ring. This does not mean that today ppl "need" nose rings, but it would be very hard to claim that they are specifically unBiblical...

@JohnPaul Thanks for the post; I'll comment on the other thread which is specifically about tattoos, since the post is wholly on that topic.
