I notice that you do not actually address the scriptures that I offer you, yet you fully expect me to bow in reverent humility before the scriptures you quote me, yet you claim in the same breath they have no authority. I detect a great deal of inconsistency here.
"To the law and to the testimony. If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." The Bible and the Bible only ought to be the only foundation for faith and practice. Opinions of men with PhDs, diplomas in philosophy and theology, those taught in seminaries and Bible schools, mean zilch, unless they agree with scripture. The deductions of great scientists and theologians and academics, the decisions of councils in formulating creeds and Papal Bulls and ecclesiastical proclamations, are as numerous and as contradictory to one another and as numerous as are the churches they represent...and your egotistical pontifications and condemnations of others are right up there with the best of them. Like I said, you reject His word while paying lip service to the gospel and authority; and to cap it all off you deny the power of the gospel to change peoples lives, giving the glory of such changes to the devil, and condemning those who testify to the power of godliness in their lives as liars and charlatans. Well did the apstle speak of such as you when he said.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away....
….but in the same chapter to Timothy he said...
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
1 ¶ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
