27a. And
he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:
My reply >
Jesus confirmed the NEW covenant with the Disciples/Apostles for 7x7=49 years, beginning at His Baptism. So then, Jesus at 30 years old plus 49 years, puts us into the year of 79AD, being 9 years after Titus laid seige to Jerusalem. By the year of 79AD John, though not yet on the Isle of Patmos, was well aware of the destruction of Jerusalem.
> Emperor Titus Flavius Domitianus sent John to Patmos in 95AD
The writing of the book of Revelation was approx. in 96 AD., only 17+/- years later. No one knows exactly WHEN John had the visions, while enduring his captivity on Patmos, nor when it was he actually began writing them down. In any case, John died in 100AD.
So, his writing of Revelation most likely began sometime during or after 95AD, of which was to be sent to the "seven churches", thus revealing that Jesus was completing His mission of "confirming the covenant" with His disciples.
b. and in the midst of the week
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,
> Jesus' Sacrifice of Himself, supercedes and eliminates all animal sacrifices.
c. and
for [because of] the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,
> To the Jews, Jesus said: "Your house is left unto you desolate" [void of God].
And again He said to them: "The kingdom of God" (who is Jesus Himself) shall be TAKEN from you, and GIVENto a [
holy] nation...", which are all born again Christians, being they themselves, who are that "holy nation", aka Heavenly Jerusalem.
> Even though, at the point of Jesus' Sacrificial death, and when the "Temple veil being torn in two", making visible the Holy of holies",
the Jews continued their oblation of animal sacrifices, of which was now an abomination to God.
The ultimate Sacrifice of Jesus made that whole oblation of the Jews to be useless and obsolete.
d. even until the consummation,
> There will never be again oblations of animal sacrifices to God, even to the end of the world.
e. and that determined shall be
poured upon the desolate.
> What was determined, and what shall be "poured out" for all who are desolate (void of God), but do believe?
Ans. The gift of the Holy Spirit of God!
> This is what the reference of 1335 days means in Daniel 12[
11] And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. (1290).
> The key here, is to understand and know that the sacrifice of Jesus (an
abomination to God the Father) was being "set up" for 1290 literal days, right up to the day of Christ's crucifixion. This is why Jesus said:
"My
time is not yet come [set up]". John 7:6
[
12]
Blessed is he that
waiteth,** and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
> It is the number of 45
literal days to the day of Pentecost, after Jesus' ministry in the flesh of 1290 days. 1290+45=1335
**Note: Acts 1[4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that
they should not depart from Jerusalem,
but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

8] And it shall be in that day, that
living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
