It was customary to hire professional musicians and mourners on such occasions. Yes, in those days, people mourned publicly with loud sounds. It was a way to cope with the loss of a loved one and reduce the pain of the heart. When your heart is broken, mourn. You will feel better.Minstrels are there, with a crowd of real or hired mourners, raising their wailing cries.
