These are the highlights from Bible study tonight. (They post the notes for my church) We studied about Truth and Righteousness tonight.
Putting on the armor of God
Ephesians 6
-Put on the armor of God to stand against the devil
-You aren’t wrestling flesh & blood, you’re wrestling against satan
Ephesians 6:14
“Truth & Righteousness”
Truth
-Obey the truth of God’s Word
-Lineage had to be pure
-Be careful who you enter into a relationship with, DON’T even date someone you wouldn’t want to marry
-Be patient
-You have to live with your choices so make wise ones
-When you give your heart & life to Christ, you become pure
-Without God, things that shouldn’t happen to you, will happen.
-Proverbs 14:12- we all tell the truth, based on the information you have, but you can deceive yourself. Because something seems right, doesn’t mean it is. He has promised to never leave you or forsake you.
-You will wrestle frequently and should always have your armor on.
-Remember His truth and not focus just on the negative of the devil
-Stay close to God and He will speak to you.
Righteousness
-Being morally right or justifiable, in right standing with God, leading a life that is pleasing to God, we cannot be righteous of ourselves
-We are justified when we come to Christ
-Ask God to cleanse you of sin
-Pray often, pray long
-How do you know what pleases God?
-Read your Bible
-Listen to that “voice”
-Be careful of your language
-Are you thoughts pleasing to God
-Everything you do is of the heart. The breastplate of righteousness will protect your heart. Be careful of your motives and how you treat and speak to others.
-Don’t think you’re too righteous that the devil can’t get to you. Stay humble.
-Faith is what restores us back to righteousness.
-We have to have faith that God is going to get us through.
-Hunger and thirst (desire) for righteousness & to please God.
