Rev 17;8

The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.

John wrote the above verse in 100 AD.At that time the beast that had once existed appeared to have been put to death by the Romans.
But here in these last days the beast reappeared in 1948.Jews from all the world have followed it .
This beast which John wrote of is the nation state of Israel.

So for those of you who do not love the beast,Dont let yourself be mislead by those who do love the beast.
People will say just anything to divert attention any from thier beloved beast .It is what it is.
Jesus said long ago who it would be to kill the saints of God in the last days.

Mathew 23;34-39
[sup]34[/sup]Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Do you believe Jesus or do you believe these people who adore the beast?

The beast has been interpreted in modern times to be the last anti-Christ. In past times, the leadership and/or monarchy of various ancient empires was thought to be the proper interpretation.

In all cases, the standard interpretation of 'the beast' is that it is a man who works in a capacity of leadership.

When interpreting the Bible it is best to rest upon established ideas and then only extrapolate from there. Scholars have done this for millenia and Jesus did it Himself.
If the method is good enough for Jesus, then it is good enough for me.

It is a common error for many to assume that some person or nation for which they have personal rancor fulfills the role of the beast or anti-Christ.
Many posts here assume that the pope is that person. In the past generations Napoleon, Mussolini, Adolph Hitler and George W. Bush had the honor of carrying that label. In no instance has a nation ever been associated with the leadership role of the beast.

Your interpretation therefore, falls to the level of anti-semitism and hate mongering instead of accurate reasonable Biblical scholarship. I believe that you should take another look at your attitude in condemnation of an entire race of people.

The Bible says that the Jews are the apple of God's eye (Zech 2:8).

Beware Balaam's curse oh man.
