I have participated in many discussions about the beliefs of Catholics and
frankly, have been very distressed about their unScriptural beliefs.

The Bible in general, and the New Testament in particular, are about God's
interactions with people and His covenants with them, resulting in the New
Covenant which was instituted by Jesus Christ and put into effect by His one-
time sacrifice for all sin.

After this sacrificial act, God formed a new people: the body of Christ. The
beginnings of this formation are written about in the epistles, which also serve
to formulate a new doctrine for all to believe and follow. From Acts onward we
have the story of the New Covenant.

Instead of discussing the formulation of a new people in Christ and the terms of
the New Covenant, Catholics go into "la-la land". They focus on the
following...

1) "Ever virgin" Mary. Even though Scripture says in several places that Jesus
had brothers, they come up with all kinds of rationalizations to claim just the
opposite. For some reason, the idea that Mary was a normal woman who had
intercourse with her husband is abhorrent to them. Citing the woman in Genesis,
a single word in Isaiah (which refers to a young woman with implied virginity)
and the fact that Jesus' brothers are named, they exalt Mary to a state of
purity that has no Scriptural basis.

2) They cite Peter, a.k.a. Cephas, as the rock on which the church (actually
their denomination) is built. They willfully ignore that shortly after Jesus
said "on this rock I will build my church", Jesus called Peter "Satan". (He
never called any other person "Satan".) Peter denied Jesus three times when He
was arrested, and used violence against another person, using his sword to cut
the ear off the high priest's servant. Catholics claim him as their first Pope
-- an unScriptural term -- even though Paul described him as the apostle to the
uncircumcised (only) in Galatians. Paul also reprimanded him for his
hypocritical behavior when other Jews arrived in Galatia.

3) They claim that the Pope is the leader of the church, even though the word
"Pope" is not mentioned anywhere in Scripture. (They make the doubly-false claim
that Peter/Cephas was the first Pope.)

4) They ignore the abhorrent, UNCHRISTIAN history of their denomination,
including the crusades, the inquisitions, the murder of innocent people who
refused to succumb to their conquests, the murders, tortures, excommunications,
and other heinous acts against non-Catholics, etc.

5) Finally, and worst of all, they depict Jesus as => DEAD on the cross <= Every
single crucifix and picture of the Lord they have shows him as a dead
European!!! By so doing, they visually deny that He died, was buried, AND WAS
RESURRECTED TO THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD!!!

In summary, the Catholic denomination has discarded the fundmental truths and
doctrines of the Bible in favor of a bizarre mythology invented by their clergy!

1) They focus on Mary instead of Christ. They even pray to her!!!
2) They focus on Peter, denying the truth of the gospels.
3) They invent an unScriptural clergy and believe the lies that clergy tells
them.
4) They have committed unspeakbale atrocities against non-Catholics, and
recently, sexually abusing children
5) They visually deny the resurrection of Christ, then claim that He actually
exists in the form of crackers and wine!

I agree with all you have said, also that they consider themselves to be the One True Church. But this topic has been done to death so I won't be commenting further - partly out of respect for the views of the Catholics on site who believe what they have been taught.

This post is so asinine – it’s difficult to know just where to begin.
Let’s start with the New Testament . . .

How do YOU know it is the Word of God? WHO told you it was?
It’s a CATHOLIC Tradition – yet YOU and ALL of Protestantism adheres to it as the “Word of God. WHY is that?
Now – lets move on to your idiotic list . . .

1. We don’t focus an anybody or anything BEFORE Christ. We ASK Mary to pray FOR us. This is a Biblical practice. The Body of Christ is commanded in Scripture to pray for one another (James 5:16). When were those perfected in Christ, who are now in Heaven get of the Body of Christ??
Chapter and Verse, please . . .

2. W don’t “focus” on Peter. Once again – we focis on CHRIST who built His Church on Peter (Matt. 16:18). He put Peter in charge.
- Jesus asked Peter and Peter alone to feed His lambs and tend His sheep (John 21:15-19).
- Jesus said that He prayed for Peter ALONE to strengthen the others and bring them back to faith (Luke 22:31-32).
- Peter is specified by an angel as the leader and representative of the apostles (Mark 16:7).
- Peter's name occurs first in all lists of apostles (Matt. 10:2; Mk 3:16; Luke 6:14; Acts 1:13).
And on and on. WE didn’t put an emphasis on PeterJESUS did.

3.
The word “Pope” is not in Scripture. Neither are the words, “Trinity”, “Incarnation” – or even “Bible”, for that matter. These things are Biblical truths – the words came later.

4. Your accusation regarding the sex scandal is the MOSE asinine of your charges because it is WORSE in your Protestant sects.
According to the Book, Pedophiles and Priests by Protestant author, Philip Jenkins, the reason it was reported more in the Catholic Church was because Catholic parishes are INSURED – so there was plenty of MONEY to be had. Although the problem if FAR WORSE in Protestant sects – many of them are NOT insured, so the lawyers left them alone.
Do your homework . . .

5.
This LAST one shows us just how ignorant you are.
Paul wrote:
1 Cor. 1:22-24
For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but WE PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

So, congratulations. According to Paul - YOU don’t know Christ.
NO Crucifixion – NO Resurrection.
It’s THAT simple.

While I haven't been here for that long nor have I met or read a lot of members and their pov as yet, I must say of those I have had the privilege of reading, you appear to be the most angry and wilfully offensive.

There is no peace in you.

Only a hunters spirit that seeks opportunity to hurt people using the word of God as opportunity and weapon.

You are a warning, not a positive example, of a Latin Rite church member.

Rage!
The rage on your post is so intrinsic in who you are that the written words were screaming from the page. Not mere font written on a message board.

I cannot be the only one who has also been on the receiving end of your rage to know , you need Jesus.

And I know dark personalities such as yours look to report a post like this. However, after a moderator reads what you said to Jim B first, you may be the subject of discipline under the rules.

God knows his Saints. And did before the creation of the world. If you are his, may he call you to him. For the sake of everyone both on the internet and off.
Amen.

Righteous indignation.
The Bible warns over and over about liars and the lies they tell – and the consequences for those lies and bearing false witness.

If my righteous indignation at your compulsive lying is a problem for you – then I have a solution.

Let’s face it – you’re angry with me because I expose people like YOU and Jim and “Truther” and others.

Its much worse than you have shown. They held councils back in the 300,s ce--Brought in many lies and pagan practices. Translated those false teachings into their translating. When the protestants translated(1500,s)only Catholicism translating remained, thus little was fixed by the protestants, they could see the falseness of Catholicism but had no clue about the translating errors. They fixed little and have become so confused, they have turned themselves into (a house divided( 34,000 trinity based religions) will not stand.)

Jesus is not with a divided house( 1Cor 1:10)

I suggest there to be nothing righteous there.

God does not require hate to clad itself as a vehicle in his defense.

Everything unfolds as God willed it before anything was made.

What you demonstrate is a bluff. You claim your behavior is right when in truth that is your excuse for expressing your hatred and contempt for Protestants.

The church doesn't need your vulgarity to stand in its defense. And in point of fact that vulgar language you use would never be condoned by any member of the church clergy.
I know because I copied your posts and texted them to a priest in my extended family.

Your example is that of a non-Catholic.

Because as the Father said in reply, the church would publicly denounce such a diatribe were the author to preface their diatribe as that what speaks for the Holy See or as what represents right understanding of the Catechism in a broadcast before a gathered public.

He won't join this site in order to personally discipline your transgression.

Because as he said in closing, they're not Catholic. They're terminally angry.

I'll agree.

It would be wrong to continue to read you exercising the darkness that compels your outbursts.

When you misbehaved as a child and got spanked – your parents were disciplining you so that you wouldn’t repeat the bad thing you did.
Consider yourself Scripturally, historically and linguistically SPANKED.

You guys run amok on this forum, spewing your filth with impunity – then you become “indignant” when educated Catholics put you in your place. Shame ono you.

Behave yourselves and there will be NO NEED for you to be spanked.
Now – unless you have some answers to my questionsstop wasting my time . . .

Now – unless you have some answers to my questionsstop wasting my time . . .

There will be no false religion left at judgement, but if there were. What answer would your religion give of why your clergy allowed the young men to stand on both sides of the wars of hatred? Rev war, civil war, ww1, ww2--Millions upon millions slaughtered even though the bible condemns the brothers in Christ from slaughtering each other. They even did it for a man named Hitler. And why the clergy on both sides told both sides God was on their side? And had the gaul to pray to the same God on both sides for the quick destruction of their own supposed brothers in Christ.( one of the biggest hipocrisy's ever witnessed by all creation) It took throwing Jesus away to accomplish those things. The bloodguilt has amassed to the heavens. Not to even mention all the other centuries killing and more killing( crusades, inquisition)
You should meet the real Jesus-Love, peace and unity, forgiveness-- not go kill because a mortal tells you its ok.

The New Anti-Catholicism: The Last Acceptable Prejudice
Anti-Catholicism has a long history in America. And as Philip Jenkins (a reputable non-Catholic author) argues in The New Anti-Catholicism, this virulent strain of hatred―once thought dead―is alive and well in our nation, but few people seem to notice, or care. A statement that is seen as racist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, or homophobic can haunt a speaker for years, writes Jenkins, but it is still possible to make hostile and vituperative public statements about Roman Catholicism without fear of serious repercussions. Jenkins shines a light on anti-Catholic sentiment in American society and illuminates its causes, looking closely at gay and feminist anti-Catholicism, anti-Catholic rhetoric and imagery in the media, and the anti-Catholicism of the academic world. For newspapers and newsmagazines, for television news and in movies, for major book publishers, the Catholic Church has come to provide a grossly stereotyped public villain. Catholic opinions, doctrines, and individual leaders are frequently the butt of harsh satire. Indeed, the notion that the church is a deadly enemy of women―the idea of Catholic misogyny―is commonly accepted in the news media and in popular culture, says Jenkins. And the recent pedophile priest scandal, he shows, has revived many ancient anti-Catholic stereotypes. It was said that with the election of John F. Kennedy, anti-Catholicism in America was dead. This provocative new book corrects that illusion, drawing attention to this important issue.

Bearing False Witness: Debunking Centuries of Anti-Catholic History

Another non-Catholic author.

As we all know and as many of our well established textbooks have argued for decades, the Inquisition was one of the most frightening and bloody chapters in Western history, Pope Pius XII was anti-Semitic and rightfully called “Hitler’s Pope,” the Dark Ages were a stunting of the progress of knowledge to be redeemed only by the secular spirit of the Enlightenment, and the religious Crusades were an early example of the rapacious Western thirst for riches and power. But what if these long held beliefs were all wrong?
In this stunning, powerful, and ultimately persuasive book, Rodney Stark, one of the most highly regarded sociologists of religion and bestselling author of The Rise of Christianity (HarperSanFrancisco 1997) argues that some of our most firmly held ideas about history, ideas that paint the Catholic Church in the least positive light are, in fact, fiction. Why have we held these wrongheaded ideas so strongly and for so long? And if our beliefs are wrong, what, in fact, is the truth?
In each chapter, Stark takes on a well-established anti-Catholic myth, gives a fascinating history of how each myth became the conventional wisdom, and presents a startling picture of the real truth. For example,

    • Instead of the Spanish Inquisition being an anomaly of torture and murder of innocent people persecuted for “imaginary” crimes such as witchcraft and blasphemy, Stark argues that not only did the Spanish Inquisition spill very little blood, but it was a major force in support of moderation and justice.
    • Instead of Pope Pius XII being apathetic or even helpful to the Nazi movement, such as to merit the title, “Hitler’s Pope,” Stark shows that the campaign to link Pope Pius XII to Hitler was initiated by the Soviet Union, presumably in hopes of neutralizing the Vatican in post-World War II affairs. Pope Pius XII was widely praised for his vigorous and devoted efforts to saving Jewish lives during the war.
    • Instead of the Dark Ages being understood as a millennium of ignorance and backwardness inspired by the Catholic Church’s power, Stark argues that the whole notion of the “Dark Ages” was an act of pride perpetuated by anti-religious intellectuals who were determined to claim that theirs was the era of “Enlightenment.”
In the end, readers will not only have a more accurate history of the Catholic Church, they will come to understand why it became unfairly maligned for so long. Bearing False Witness is a compelling and sobering account of how egotism and ideology often work together to give us a false truth.

WASHINGTON — U.S. bishops are pleading for an end to violence following the ongoing attacks on Catholic churches and pro-life pregnancy centers.

“In light of this, we urge our elected officials to take a strong stand against this violence, and our law enforcement authorities to increase their vigilance in protecting those who are in increased danger,” Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York and Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore wrote in a statement released Monday.

The U.S. bishops have tracked 139 church attacks since 2020 — a number that has increased significantly since the May 2 leak of a Supreme Court draft opinion in the abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

“Only rarely have the motives been clear; when they were, it was often opposition to the Church’s teachings on life in the womb,” wrote Cardinal Dolan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Religious Liberty and Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities.

Since the leak in Dobbs, a case that could overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide, “charities that support pregnant mothers in need have been firebombed, and pro-life organizations have been attacked almost daily and terrorized, and even the lives of Supreme Court justices have been directly threatened,” the U.S. Church leaders noted.

Cardinal Dolan and Archbishop Lori urged that, in response, “each of us must choose the path of peace and open our hearts to the love that God has for his children.”

The bishops explained the Catholic Church provides a great service to all in need.

“The Catholic Church has a long history of service to those who are most vulnerable, including both mother and child, and remains the largest private provider of social services in the United States,” the two stressed. “From religious communities to pregnancy care centers, from refugee resettlement services to foster care and adoption agencies, and from maternity homes to parish-based ministries, the Church consistently bears witness in word and deed to the beauty and dignity of every human life.”
(we even help people who hate the Church, people like Jim B.)

They as well wiped out an entire race in south america because they practiced fornication. Yet the clergy were the #1 attendees of the brothels at the same time committing fornication and then gave orders to wipe that race off of Gods earth. I would say it was for the Gold and things not because they fornicated as they say.

''False truth'' in your closing is an oxymoron.

As you introduced the topic of books that are anti-Catholic doctrine, to be distinguished of course from any false implication Protestant Christians are opposed to Catholic people, there is a book that was extant long before those you sought out to make your point.

kjv-excited.gif

In that book there is no Pope.

Peter, who was married, was not the first Pope.

There is no College of Cardinals.

There is not such a thing implied nor stated outright as, ''indulgences''. Because God never said the dead can buy their way out of nor into any place in the afterlife using worldly currency.
God did say Jesus paid our sin debt eternally from the cross.

There is no Purgatory wherein it would be implied that sacrifice failed and the dead need to work off/out sins not put under his blood.

Nor was there in scripture ever described a Limbo for babies nor anyone else.

Nor did Jesus declare upon Peter he would build a church that seats men as arbiters and emissaries between himself and his people. Jesus is the rock. As he told us in both old and new testaments.

Jesus eradicated the barrier between humanity and God.
He did not institute through a natural fallen man a new one to bear his name.

If you want to refer to a book that teaches absolute Gospel truth, it is the Bible.

No one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws them.

The Father does not draw newborns. He does not need to. Babies are pure in spirit.

He knows their name. He gifted them their soul. And they know his face.

Which is why their eyes sparkle, and they smile and take joy in the simple things. And gaze in wonder and are curious about that which we who are longer lived have long taken for granted.

Jesus told his Disciples unless we become like little children we cannot know the kingdom of Heaven.

Babies know.

The kingdom of Heaven is everywhere we look. Because God is sovereign and Omnipresent within his creation. And God's will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Evil is here because the fallen natural man's spirit hears the voice of that which is averse to what is holy as and within the Kingdom.

It is why that nature cannot understand the things of God, the words of the word. Because this is spiritually discerned.
It is why wicked tongues think to defend what natural minds of men have erected so to make them co-redemptrux with God. Idols.

The worldly fallen natural man took God's message and interjected teachings that would give power and persuasion to the natural men. Who then erected a church to their image and likeness.

And eventually erected idols to sanctify the dead among them. And claim of those now foul corpses laid often enough in catacombs beneath that church that they are vested to intercede with God on behalf of the living worshiping above their tombs.

Because again it is thought laity cannot reach God all by themselves.

When Jesus prophesied the temple would fall, and not one stone remain, it did.
This after he resurrected the first church of God from the stone tomb man laid him in.

As Roman and Jewish men of power thought themselves able to kill a blasphemer who boasted himself as God on earth.

God proved them wrong.

And walked this earth and continued his ministry for another 40 days.

When the rock comes again there shall not remain a single stone left standing on the hill where a church whose foundation is erected upon death, a pagan grave site, stands as an idol of adversity and natural man's egocentrism.

It shall not rise again in three days.

The recent flurry of anti-Catholic incidents at home and abroad is a disturbing reminder of how deeply entrenched this genre of bigotry is. The incidents are not in any way a coordinated attack, though some commonalities are evident, the most obvious being that they are all driven by left-wing players.

It was reported in Canada last week that there has been a huge increase in anti-Catholic hate crimes: between 2020 and 2021, they shot up by 260 percent. Churches have been burned to the ground, stained-glass windows have been smashed and acts of desecration have taken place.

Some of this is a reaction to news reports alleging the discovery of “mass graves” of Indigenous children on Catholic grounds. Those stories have been proven to be totally false—not a single corpse has been found in these “mass graves.” But the damage that these lies have caused is considerable.

Communist countries have a long history of plundering the Catholic Church, which is why recent anti-Catholic incidents in China and Nicaragua come as no surprise. In both cases, the offenses were launched as a payback against those who challenged the authorities.

When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan, over the objections of the Chinese Communist Party, she became the object of scorn. The Chinese Embassy in France tweeted a political cartoon that showed a witchlike picture of Pelosi crowned with a ring of stars, resembling Our Blessed Mother. She was shown trying to steal a baby from its crib, an apparent reference to her wanting to steal Taiwan from China.

The Communist regime in Nicaragua has taken aim at Bishop Rolando Álvarez of the diocese of Matagalpa. According to Thomas D. Williams, he is a vocal opponent of Nicaraguan dictator Daniel Ortega, and for that he has been subjected to harassment. He has been denied entrance to his church. The riot police have closed off the road outside his house, forcing him to say Mass at his residence.

In the United States, pro-abortion protesters crashed a big Catholic event in California. The Napa Institute held a conference that attracted demonstrators who interrupted the proceedings screaming, “Get your rosaries off our ovaries.” When those in attendance drowned them out by singing “Salve Regina,” they left.

On August 6, pro-abortion protesters showed up at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in downtown New York City. At least five were arrested for harassing church-goers.

Many are responsible for fueling these incidents, and this includes those who affect the pop culture. Bill Maher showcased his anti-Catholic bigotry on Friday when he once again smeared homosexual priests for molesting minors.

Worse are those in a position to do something about these offenses. In June I wrote to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland asking for his intervention in dealing with domestic terrorists who have attacked Catholic churches and crisis pregnancy centers. He has done absolutely nothing to combat these incidents.

Bigotry against any demographic group, religious or secular, should be condemned by everyone. Regrettably, members of the ruling class appear to be selectively interested in doing so.
