I do not agree with your false caricatures of our beliefs.
I consider you a persecutor.
You are complaining because Marymog exposed your false views on celibacy, and never back off when your misconceptions are corrected.
You "smote" me by misinterpreting a Bible verse - Acts 2:38??In my last two posts, for example I smote you. Thou art the man.
Thy speech bewrayeth thee, Roman Catholic. You "smote" me by misinterpreting a Bible verse - Acts 2:38??
Thou art insane . . .![]()
And I’ve already broken the news to YOU –I hate to break the news to you. But somebody has to.
You can’t use a title instead of a name.
You can’t even do that with your checking account.
How much more water baptism.
The Roman Catholic Church is disgrace to Christianity. And you are promoting it. Where does that leave you?
Matt. 28:19Refusing to baptize adults in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins is obeying the master?
Sounds like you’re obeying the pope instead.
I guess the pope is your master.
The Word of God (circa 33AD)Thy speech bewrayeth thee, Roman Catholic.
Interpret this....
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ...
And not like this....
During a Catholic baptism, the priest says, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" while pouring water over the person's head or immersing them in water three times.
The problem with Christendom as a whole is that they don’t believe that the Father was inside Jesus.
The Bible teaches oneness.
I see how you Catholics think. You think in the name means not actually saying the name. And I’ve already broken the news to YOU –
Novod in the NT said to use Jesus’s actual name when Baptizing. They – unlike YOU understood His explicit instructions in Matt. 28:19 . . .
Question for all Roman Catholics, including yourself.Matt. 28:19
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
Gee – unless He had a speech impediment – I think He was pretty clear, my heterodox friend . . .
Hahaha17 years later . . .
The Didache (Teachings of the Twelve Apostles - 50AD)
Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism
And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have not living water, baptize into other water; and if you can not in cold, in warm. But if you have not either, POUR OUT WATER THRICE UPON THE HEAD INTO THE NAME OF FATHER AND SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.
20 Century heresy
“You’re doing it wrong!!”
You are another one that does not believe that God was inside Jesus. You still don’t believe that God is inside Jesus. You don’t believe Colossians 2:9. You just say you do.Those that accept God's Word believe the Father was in Jesus doing the works because Jesus said so.
If that were true, Jesus would have said... I only do what I see Myself do and I only say what I hear Myself say.
There is one God, but He is a 3 part being just like mankind is according to scripture.
1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Concerning the trinity... the Father, the Son, and the Spirit... are One!
Pretty hard to explain away something scripture clearly tells us which is... One is Three, and the Three are One.
In fact.... you and I are three that is one (we are a spirit, we possess a soul, and we live in a body)
1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
After all... the Lord did create man in His Own Image.
Genesis 1:26
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness
That's the Father, the Word, and the Spirit saying "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"
This should help clear up the confusion you have on this topic.
That's your spin on it and the scripture doesn't support your false theory. It is obvious that Peter and the rest of the disciples baptized in the name of Jesus Christ because they understood that Jesus was telling them in the book of Matthew that the name, which is singular, of the father, son and Holy Ghost, which are titles, were all about the name of Jesus. That’s why they always and only baptized in the name of Jesus Christ….
Acts 2:38- Matt 28:19 comparison
Matthew 15:I do not agree with many of your beliefs.
I do not consider you a friend.
I do not consider you speaking for me, things I have not said for myself, as upstanding.
I do consider you addressing me by names other than my forum name as disrespectful.
Reading the first time around the majority of what you write is not pleasant, so no I will not DO as you request and thumb back through your posts to read them again and post them for your satisfaction.
Say it right, “in the name of the Father son and Holy Ghost I baptize you in the name of Jesus. “This is how i will simply conduct baptism, "In the name of Jesus Christ, i baptize thee in the name of the FATHER, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost."
Basically the Apostles disciple the people of all nation the Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD. And when people believe cum decide to be baptized, such infants and children perceive who are the three individuals without a question.
If you want to convince me otherwise, am not buying it, you may try another person instead, no thank you.
Say you got it backwards, i agree.Say it right, “in the name of the Father son and Holy Ghost I baptize you in the name of Jesus. “
You got it backwards.
Fred, all I’m trying to do is get you to get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. It’s not that hard. It’s like pulling teeth to many, but if you lived in the first century, it wouldn’t be pulling teeth. You would’ve gladly done it.Say you got it backwards, i agree.
When Peter and John at the Temple healed a lame man, Peter said;
Acts 3:
6. ..........................................................: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Clearly it is not like your spin backwards and on others offtrack, pray in the name of Jesus Christ, GOD wisen you up.
This also goes in conjunction with the instruction given by Paul to the churches.
Colossians 3:
17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to GOD and the FATHER by Him.
Earlier did prophesy to you cautioning about missing your steps, and already showing, quit while you can, thank you.
Technically, the Son’s name is NOT mentioned – only His title/role in the Trinity.Question for all Roman Catholics, including yourself.
What is the name of the son per the verse that you posted?
Since the sons name is not mentioned, and only the title of the son per Matthew 28:19, just take a wild guess of what the sons name is per the verse…Technically, the Son’s name is NOT mentioned – only His title/role in the Trinity.
For YOU to insist that His name IS mentioned in Matt.18:19 is either a LIE – or just another Scriptural blunder on YOUR part . . .
