Why do people desire for the end times to be for today? Serious Inquirey

Why is it people, seemingly good people, desire for today's time to be the end of times or an admission into it?

Jesus said "everyone will be tested with fire, every sacrifice seasoned with salt" - people are just trying to get into agreement with what Jesus said was coming - they might try to do it the wrong way and get confused, but by the time they are in Heaven their thinking will be made right.

You have to trust that God will make it right, because any other way, will result in you being tested more than you need to (anyway).

I used to think "maybe I can railroad other believers into proper conduct" but I am starting to realise God hasn't given believers the spirit they need for that conduct! (I am not saying that they don't have faith, just that God doesn't give them faith, by which they might ignore Him!)

The Day will come when God pours out His Spirit, again but as the Bible says "no one will say "know God" for all will be taught by Him" (anything else will be too late).

Im to the point of realizing that people are going to believe what they want @Gottservant. Doesnt matter how many times I meet someone new who is like what, jesus already came? When and all that.

I think it is best to know and remember to oneself “hey your gonna die; make the best with what you have and have faith in the Son of God, pray and give thanks” what more is there really to do…

Death is coming no one is gonna escape it.

How can one know what is from God unless they test it by the word of God... of course there is a lot that goes with those just few words. History, context, interpreting scripture with scripture, and of course relying on the Spirit.

They will not lift a finger to better themselves or others, you see it in their denial and being happy to go with the flow Gay issues etc they promote.
Not to mention they claim they do not Sin ! or it's covered regardless ? So no worries, they have a get out of purgatory free card !
They live their life for the end of times in fact !

Radical extreme Islam is certainly a danger. They despise Christians, and consider the only good Christian is a dead one. But God is merciful, and there are thousands of Muslims coming to Christ throughout the world. They come to Jesus not so much as a result of evangelism, but through dreams and visions telling them that God has a Son, and His name is Isa. They are told that they have been lied to regarding the Bible and it's message. When they then secretly read the scriptures, the holy spirit gives them understanding and they embrace the truth, and many are now risking their own lives by street preaching in places like Riyadh, Damascus, and Gaza. Islam isn't the enemy.

Or, "Life's a bitch, and then you die". And "escaping to Heaven when you die" doesn't make it go away; it's still going on back here for your children and your children's children and your children's children's children. Maybe we're tired of the suffering and meaninglessness and death.

This is confirmed by verse 20 in which Paul describes his vocation as begging people to be reconciled to God. Reconciliation in a relationship requires actions by both parties. Which is probably why Jesus tarries - our mission here is not yet complete.

That is your opinion.

My belief comes from,

how that God was in Christ -- a world reconciling to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation,

He by His Son has done it for all people.

People who tend to see Jesus has yet to come back, may see as this has not been completed.

The reason I see it as not yet complete is because Reconciliation means restoration of the relationship. Relationship by definition involves more than one party. The 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 verses I quoted are saying that God has done His part - and now it is our job as Christ's Ambassadors to facilitate restoring others' broken relationships with God. And apparently He ain't ready to close the book on the rest of the world yet.
