A renewal of faith (if there was one ) and to believe in the truths of the word instead of fantasy doctrines set to appease the conscience, and excuse fallen man for not repenting now, while it is yet day !The evidence is astronomical against ?
Who could have imagined even a few decades ago that the world would be in the moral state that it is now?The mind can become so seared that it cannot accept the truth !
1 Timothy 4:1/2
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devil's;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
And for this cause God shall send them strong DELUSION, that they shall believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed NOT THE TRUTH, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
I well remember a time when decorum & etiquette meant soming about the decency of humanity.Who could have imagined even a few decades ago that the world would be in the moral state that it is now?
Those of us who remember the 60’s and the “sexual revolution” that shocked to world at that time, can see that it pales into insignificance compared to the gender issues of this 21st century.
Can we also see how satan has undermined every vestige of decency that the Bible promotes….even older people who would never have used bad language or condoned (publicly at least) the kinds of sexual misconduct that is not only tolerated today, but mandated so that it is now a crime to exercise your conscience as a Christian and speak up about these things.….
Being “offended” is now a reason to take someone to court…..but what makes their feelings more important than yours if you are also “offended” by their conduct? Who is ruling this world? (1 John 5:19) And whose moral standards are now being followed? Christians have to be careful not to allow their standards to become eroded….living “in the world”, but remaining “no part” of it as Jesus said. (John 17:16)
Those in Christ could be misled by false doctrine, true. However, that does not strip them of their irrevocable salvation by God's grace .The mind can become so seared that it cannot accept the truth !

Keep reminding with all sound biblical doctrine for the TIME HAS COME where many have departed from the true faith once delivered .The mind can become so seared that it cannot accept the truth !

That my friend is correct . it too is what the apostles would also later teach the church .He would tell them to repent and sin no more.
What is the title of this thread again . exactlyWhy do we single out one sin to make that claim?
--- Parody ---
Conversation between Christian protester and doughnut shop patron. (customer)
Patron: What are doing picketing a donut shop?
Protester: I'm protesting the sin of gluttony.
Patron: Why on earth would you do that?
Protester: Gluttony is a sin, this has to stop.
Patron: Not everyone who buys a donut is a glutton.
Protester: We can't say that for sure.
Patron: Don't you have gluttony at your church?
Protester: No, we kicked them all out, unless they would repent.
Patron: Wow, for eating donuts?
Protester: No, gluttony takes many forms.
Patron: Right, like a church pot-luck dinner?
Protester: Exactly, they are banned at our church.
Patron: Did you know that some people are born with
weight-gain issues they will never get ahead of?
Protester: That's no excuse. Sin is sin.
Patron: You look exhausted, can I buy you a donut.
Protester: Sure, just don't tell the church.
Patron: Your secret's safe with me.

And when or if they are , you can BET GOD gonna either send men to correct , AS HE SENT PUAL to correct peter and barnabasThose in Christ could be misled by false doctrine, true. However, that does not strip them of their irrevocable salvation by God's grace .
Oh my no, that is not why the scriptures and Jesus say/said those things about marriage - at all! God's thoughts are not like man's defective thoughts. That is the devil once again accusing God, as he always does so predictably. What is at issue is righteousness and purity, not "defective merchandise". The two shall become one flesh........that is what irrevocably happens when two have sex......marriage in other words. Having sex with someone is what makes them married and in covenant in a spiritual sense. Because that is what sex IS, whether we like it or not. "Who can change what God hath wrought?" It is what it is.St. SteVen said:
The church is wrong about divorce too.
Jesus literally said, "except for fornication..." (not adultery)
There is a cultural/legal implication in what Jesus said.
Fornication is sex BEFORE marriage.
Women were considered property.
Fornication before marriage meant the product was defective. (not the promised virgin)
An illegal business transaction basically. Sorry, I know that's hard to hear.

This topic covers the subject. But frankly, I have gotten a lot of push-back on this.Oh my no, that is not why the scriptures and Jesus say/said those things about marriage - at all!
Haven't read the whole thread, but as we can see in God's word how sexual purity is of utmost importance to the Lord and a walk in Christ. This is basic and foundational - Christianity 101. We're not going to get anywhere until that is settled. One man one woman marriage and nothing else is permissible with regard to sex, or at all wise! Whatever one's proclivities happen to be, it's deny it and follow Jesus. Deny yourself, your fleshly lusts. This topic covers the subject. But frankly, I have gotten a lot of push-back on this.
Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

How much of that mindset is driven by the position of the church and conservative politics?Haven't read the whole thread, but as we can see in God's word how sexual purity is of utmost importance to the Lord and a walk in Christ. It's driven by the word of God. HIS mindset....which those who have His Spirit also have....the mind of Christ. The Spirit and the word agree. How much of that mindset is driven by the position of the church and conservative politics?
In another topic I pose this question. Which seems unthinkable by today's standards, but there it is in the early church. (polygamy)
Does the "husband of one wife" requirement mean that polygamy was common in the early church?

Folks do and folks say , folks reason , as they desire . Take note if one continues to reject the truthIt's driven by the word of God. HIS mindset....which those who have His Spirit also have....the mind of Christ. The Spirit and the word agree.
Unbelievers were coming to the Lord who might have had more than one wife prior to coming to faith. There was no requirement for them to put away 'surplus' wives, because of God's mercy.....for the sake of the children, and as well it would have been untenable in practical terms for women of that day.....most of them would have been forced to remarry in order to survive. However, leadership in the church required that a man only have one wife.....God's wisdom for more than one reason, I believe.
Push back? That's because you are wrong. This topic covers the subject. But frankly, I have gotten a lot of push-back on this.
