The proper phrase is "righteousness apart from works" (Romans 4:6).

The gospel of grace is all about a righteousness that comes from God, apart from what you do. Catholicism is all about the righteousness that comes from you in the satisfactory completion of various works.

happy passion week Ferris

not so we are baptized members of Christ and his church in grace unto good works

No - I said YOUR statements are idiotic.

So, I proved my point. You make an asinine statement about God and His Word - and when the SAME grmmatoical criterion is applied to YOU - you collapse like a deck of cards.

Thanks, Einstein.
This is asinine?....

God's word creating the world per Gen 1 and creating Jesus per John 14 .

How so?

Really?? where??

John 3 says nothing about baptism.

Both say baptism

Jn 3:5 born again by water and the spirit vs 22 they baptized

eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

quickened, brought to life!
In the waters of baptism!

My comment in post #521 aboiyt YOUR idiotic statements was about ALL of your idiotic staements - especially regarging John 1:1 NOT being about Jesus.

A cheeseburger has enough sense to recognize that it is about Jesus, the Son being spoken about in John 1.
To be fair, though - the cheeseburger probably has a better grasp of Scripture than you . . ..

So, in the beginning was Jesus and Jesus was with God and Jesus was God...

Then Jesus was made a sperm cell(flesh)?

You teach all that?

The spoken word made nothing?

Catholic, chill.

Nope - that's one of YOUR idiotic, heretical statements - which I have corrected several times now.

I guess I should be happy that you got the FIRST part correct, though.

What did God(2nd person) turn into in John 1:14?

A...sperm cell.

B...Mary's egg cell.

C....a fully developed fetus in Mary's ovaries.

Pick one.

Show me the verse that says Father turned the Son into a sperm cell - and I'll show you where God created a man using only the dust of the earth (Gen 2:7).

God isn't bound by your limited undeerstanding of biology. He can do whatever He wants - HOWEVER He wants.
What a pathetic little god you've invented for yourself, Einstein . . .

There is no verse...you teach that the 2nd person in a Godhead turned into flesh(sperm, egg or fetus).

If you teach in the beginning, Jesus was with God and Jesus was God...

Then you teach Jesus(God) became microscopic flesh.

Unless you think "duh Truther, I dunno, Jesus just became a man....".(like the rest of the incarnationists teach).

Truth is, God made the 1st Adam from dust by His word and the last Adam from a sperm cell to mate with a woman's egg by His word.

Jesus Christ extends his mission, power, and authority to His church of His apostles!

Even His judging!
Matt 19:28
His teaching authority!
Matt 28:19 and Jn 20:21
His power to forgive sins!
Jn 20:23
His being the light of the world!
Matt 5:14
His ministry of reconciliation!
2 cor 5:18
His authority in governing the church and administering the kingdom!
Matt 16:18-19 & 18:18 Jn 21:17
Lk 22:29
Apart from me you can do nothing. Jn 15:5
So the church is subject to Christ!
Eph 5:24
Christ shares His glory! 2 thes 1:10 rev 12:1

Jesus Christ continues HIS ministry in His new covenant church thru Peter, the apostles, and their successors with the same mission, power, and authority!
Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Matt 18:17 Acts 1:17 acts 8:31 & 35 acts 9:4 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 eph 2:20 acts 2:42 1 Tim 3:15

Fundamentalism drives a wedge between Christ and his church, separates Christ from His kingdom, and the authority of Christ from the new covenant!

1 Corinthians 16:22
If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema

Extends to the truth and the church

Cos Christ is the truth and His church teaches the truth without error! Jn 14:6 matt 28:19 matt 18:17 1 Tim 3:15 Jn 29:21-23 Jn 16:13

Christ and His church are one! Acts 9:4 eph 5:32

Authority of the Apostles!

What authority does Christ have?
What power does Christ have?
What mission / ministry does Christ have?

Peter, the apostles and their successors have the same authority, power, and mission! Jn 20:21 as my father sent me, even so send I you!

John 17:18
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

The apostles are Christ’s successors!
They have authority to send others as well, apostle means one who is sent!

Therefore the apostles have authority to send more apostles or successors!
Apostolic succession!

The nations still need to be taught, disciples still need to be baptized and the church the new covenant kingdom of christ still needs to be governed!

Hebrews 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Christ is an apostle, and has authority to send other apostles, the apostles also have this authority, so the apostles continue down thru the centuries as Christ promised! Matt 28:19-20

Keys of authority! And power to bind and loose! Matt 16:18 and Matt 18:18 matt 28:19 Isa 22:21-22

Moral authority:
(Teaching)
Necessity of being taught by Christ:
Two edge sword: defining truth and condemning errors, and Interpreting scripture.

Jurisdictional authority:
(Governing / administering)
Necessity of Peter and the apostles and their successors to govern the holy church.

Spiritual authority:
(Life of Grace)
Sanctifying thru the mass and Sacraments

The apostles teaching is Christ’s teaching, Christ and His church are one! Acts 9:4

Christian rule of faith is not the Bible alone! But the doctrine of the apostles! Acts 2:42

Jesus Christ continues HIS ministry in His new covenant church thru Peter, the apostles, and their successors with the same mission, power, and authority!
Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Acts 1:17 acts 8:31 & 35 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 eph 2:20
In regards to your above post, it is obvious to me that you are knowledge-based (which is conditional). Unfortunately I read no sign of 'knowing' the Truth (which is unconditional). As a result, our point of reference is as different to knowledge is to 'knowing'. 'Knowing' is doubtless, obvious, and needs no reasoning to be understood. 'Knowing' the Truth instantly becomes a conviction that no conditionality could ever compromise. Knowledge-based convictions only comes from the self. 'Knowing' is a conviction which comes from the Truth, such as the living Spirit within us.

I already challenged you to show me the Chapter and Verse where the Son was a sperm cell.
You failed - and now your doing damage-control.

Good job, Einstein . . .

Which proves you have no gift of faith, because the mystery of God has been revealed.
Absolutely - the nature of God has been revealed aas the TRINITY (Gen. 1:26, Matt. 28:19, John 15:26, 1 Cor. 12:4-6, 2 Cor. 13:14, 1 John 5:7, Eph. 4:6, Psalm 68:5, Mal. 2:10, Isa. 63:16, 2 Cor. 1:3-4, John 3:16, John 8:41, 1 Thess. 3:13, Isa. 7:14, Isa. 9:6, John 1:1, John 1:3, John 8:58, John 10:30, John 15:9, John 20:28, Acts 5:3-4, 2 Cor. 4:4, Phil. 2:6, Col. 2:9, 1 Tim. 3:16, Heb. 1:8, Tit. 2:13, John 14:16-18, Luke 12:10, 2 Cor. 3:17, 2 Cor. 13:5, John 14:23, Acts 5:3-4).

HOW this revealed truth is possible is the mystery which requires faith - which YOU lack.

TALK ABOUT A STRETCH!!!!! "water" in John 3 has nothing to do with "Baptism, and forcing it to do so does violence to the context of the passage!!!
Your Eph 2:1 fantasy is simply your FORCING of Catholic Paradigms on a verse that's totally unrelated. Like Catholic violence on Mat 12:32 to support Purgatorial sanctification.

we still have free will
Must keep the faith
Keep believing Jn 3:16
Present tense
Believes
Jn 15:1 abide in me

it’s conditional

Matt 24:13 endures to the end.

Mark 13:13
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

1. Romans 11:22 – God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness

2. Colossians 1:21-23 – holy and blameless, if you continue in the faith"

3. The race of faith: the example of Paul

4. Hebrews 12:22-25: "we shall not escape if we turn away from Him"

5. Hebrews 4:1-3, 9-12: "strive to enter the rest of God"

6.Hebrews 6:4-9 – those who became partakers of the holy spirit and fell away

7. Hebrews 10:23-29, 35-39: "if we sin willfully", "if anyone draws back".

8. Matthew 24:13: He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved

9. Hebrews 3:4-6: Holding fast our confidence firm until the end

10. Matthew 24:13: "But the one who endures to the end will be saved"

11. 1 John 2:24-25 – "if what you heard from the beginning abides in you"

12. 2 John 8-9 : to "everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ

13. 2 Peter 1:5-11 : "Make every effort to supplement your faith"

14. Philippians 2:12-16: "work out your salvation with fear and trembling"

15. 1 Timothy 6:10-16: the love of money

16. Galatians 5:2-4 "Severed from Christ"

17. 2 Timothy 2:11-13: "if we deny him, he will also deny us"

18. James 5:19-20: the wandered brother

19. Some will abandon the faith

20. 1 Timothy 5:8: "he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"

22. The real family of Jesus: "Those who hear the Word of God and do it"

23. 1 Corinthians 5:5: "so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord"

24. Peter 2: "It would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness"

25. Jude: "Turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness" - a much relevant warning

26. 1 Cor. 9:27 ....Lest I myself might become a castaway

Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

So salvation by “faith alone” is completely false and impossible!

“If” is always conditional

2 Timothy 2:12
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
