WHY? do you or the US military hate MUSLIMS?

to be honest, most of us did. It was the 90s, i had a good job, had some college completed. Then, one day at the ripe old age of 24, i enlisted. I quit my job, and i went off to go end those muslims. They were the enemy. I still remember the celebrations after successful missions. Clinton was president then, so he loved to send us to go bomb iraq for a week, then stop for a few months, then start it all over again.

For those who keep on misquoting Luke 22:36, to try to "prove" that Jesus Christ sanctions the use of weapons, the passage later in this same chapter is conclusive that this is WRONG

While he was still speaking, there came a crowd, and the man called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus said to him, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him. Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders, who had come out against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” (verses 47-53)

Jesus says NO MORE OF THIS, which is the same as Matthew 26:52, IT IS ENOUGH.

What does Jesus do or say after Peter cuts of the ear of the high priest? Jesus HEALS the ear! Jesus did not say, well done Peter, this is the way to go! NO, Jesus shows MERCY and COMPASSION!

This passage is beyond any doubt the clincher against Christians using weapons to defend themselves!

Thank you, You just proved my point.

He did not say get rid of it. He said put it back in its place (at his side)

Taking up a sword is offensive.

Jesus never told peter he could not use it as a defensive tool.

It is a serious thing to distort the words of the Bible, taking them out of context. The bolded words clearly explain Jesus' teachings on the use of weapons. If He was on earth today, He undoubtedly would have said, "for all who draw their weapon will die by that weapon".

Are you nuts? Peter drew his sword to defend Jesus and Jesus told him to put it back. Why are you twisting this to defend "open carry" of firearms? Okay, do this: carry an unloaded pistol. No ammo! Then you can feel brave and macho, because that's clearly your need.

Again: “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword."

Matthew 26:50-52, "Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you are here to do.” [notice that Jesus did not defend himself or put up any resistance] Then they came and took hold of Jesus and arrested him. But one of those with Jesus [Peter] grabbed his sword, drew it out, and struck the high priest’s slave, cutting off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back in its place! For all who take hold of the sword will die by the sword."

The message is clear! Jesus did not resist and chastised Peter for his attempted violent solution.

I once was military and i fully agree my friend . The LORD put me in a whole new army
Where our weapons are not carnal but SPIRITUAL . Now let all that draws breath praise the glorious and the wonderous LORD .

At the very least if anyone comes to CHRIST while in the military , REFUSE TO KILL
and find some other means , say like caring for the wounded .
IF any man is not yet in the military and is christain . DONT enter it . WE have a mission now
and we are in a whole new army . THE ARMY OF THE GLORIOUS LORD where our weapons are not carnal but are SPIRITUAL .
