Salvation is BY GRACE through faith + NOTHING. Eternal life is a GIFT of God. Therefore salvation is a GIFT of God and the Holy Spirit is a GIFT of God. You can check out the Bible references for yourself. Is salvation by grace alone, or by works alone, both, or neither?
The Bible supports all four biblical opinions.
No. Truth is absolute. There are not degrees of truth or false. What about none of the above?
You could also rate doctrines as
1. Extremely False
2. Somewhat False
3. Possibly False
4. Marginally False
5. Not at all False
Very interesting. Thanks for joining us.The simple fact that its a doctrine.
Good point. - LOLI said easy to understand. I didn't say easy to carry out.
I've heard of that. Here's how it works. (or doesn't)Eternal life is a GIFT of God.
The multichoice rating surveys are for statistical purposes.No. Truth is absolute. There are not degrees of truth or false.
The laws of nature, or shall we call it Truth, always has been and always will be. Truth was before man and will continue to be here after man as it is eternal. Truth is unseen, objective and un changing. Saying something is "true" does not make it true. Making up new "rights" does not make it right. Man cannot make something that is "not a right" into something that is a "right", as rights, truth and morality has already been pre defined by the creator before the existence of time. The best thing man can do is align his free will with truth and morality and live in harmony with his existence. Let's use the simple law of gravity as an example of objective truth. We can ignore the truth of gravity and we can even tell ourself it doesn't exist, but as we walk off that cliff we will surely fall to our death because truth is immutable, unchanging and has no care of what we believe or how we see it. Gravity is just an example, there are many other spiritual laws that govern our reality and serve us consequences if we choose to ignore them. Everything in our existence is bound by natural law (or Gods law) and even if we went a trillion light years away to the far reaches of the universe it would still be exactly the same. Truth is omnipresent.Very interesting. Thanks for joining us.
Will you tell us more about that?
How did you arrive at that conclusion?
Man #2: What kind of free gift is that?I've heard of that. Here's how it works. (or doesn't)
Man #1: I have a free gift for you.
Man #2: No thanks.
Man #1: I said it was free.
Man #2: Are there strings attached?
Man #1: Well, of course.
Man #2: It isn't free then.
Man #1: You better take it, or else!
Man #2: Or else what?
Man #1: You'll be incinerated.
Man #2: What kind of free gift is that?
Indeed.
Doctrine with integrity glorifies God.What makes a doctrine false?
Please quote what you would like to respond to. Thanks.
1. You've never heard it before. (knee-jerk defensive response)
2. You have heard of it before, but assume it's false. (haven't looked into it)
3. Doesn't align with your church's doctrine (your church would say it is false)
4. Doesn't align with your personal doctrine (your views differ)
5. YOUR "Bible" says it is false. (other biblical opinions don't matter)
6. It makes you uncomfortable. (therefore it must be wrong)
7. Everyone knows it's false. (except those who believe it)
Interesting post. Thanks for your reply.Everything in our existence is bound by natural law (or Gods law)...
And if you don't receive it in this lifetime?Man #2: What kind of free gift is that?
A very generous one, otherwise called MERCY.
Hmm yes. Gods law, natural law, truth, kametic law or just plain old God. It all means the same thing. You won't see me quoting scripture much, all of what I say comes strait out and onto the board. Even tho scripture teaches us alot we need to learn to descern what is Truth without having to rely on something exterior from ourself. On that note, here is some script that I admire.Interesting post. Thanks for your reply.
I've rarely met anyone who understands what
I think you are saying here about God's law.
Not the same as the law of Moses.
Romans 7:22 NIV
For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;
Romans 7:25 NIV
... So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law,
but in my sinful nature[a] a slave to the law of sin.
Romans 8:7 NIV
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God;
it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
1 Corinthians 9:20-22 NIV
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews.
To those under the law I became like one under the law
(though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.
21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law
(though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law),
so as to win those not having the law.
22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak.
I have become all things to all people
so that by all possible means I might save some.
Romans 2:14-16 NIV
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law,
do by nature things required by the law,
they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.
15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts,
their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts
sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)
16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets
through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
Will faith save a person that ignores those in great need that ask them for help?Salvation is BY GRACE through faith + NOTHING.
Because God is just and merciful, those not forgiven before death will have their testicles crushed in a nutcracker every second of every minute forever and ever and ever. Amen. And if you don't receive it in this lifetime?
That a a totally HYPOTHETICAL scenario. The one with genuine faith will not deny help to anyone who asks for it, provided that he can offer meaningful help. Will faith save a person that ignores those in great need that ask them for help?
Anything that contradicts the Bible is false. Anything that the Bible contradicts is false. Other than that it may or may not be true, unless the Bible specifically says it's true. What makes a doctrine false?

James used the hypothetical scenario to say the same thing. The one caveat being a brother or sister in the faith ought not be denied. That a a totally HYPOTHETICAL scenario. The one with genuine faith will not deny help to anyone who asks for it, provided that he can offer meaningful help.
Nice quote, but it clearly disagrees with Scripture. It has the aura of self-worship. And there is only one true God.Hmm yes. Gods law, natural law, truth, kametic law or just plain old God. ‘Heed these words, You who wish to probe the depths of nature: If you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither will you find it outside. In you is hidden the treasure of treasures. Know Thyself and you will know the Universe and the Gods.’
