Ok, thanks..I post quite a few commentaries.
Yes, you do. like all of the following:
@JBO do you believe that the Holy Spirit deals with our flesh?

And do you believe the Spirit and flesh are in a battle with each other ?

The believer..has the Spirit...the Spirit battles with our flesh as Born Again...did you know that?

It’s the Holy Spirit who gets our flesh under control..of course my opinion.

Commentary.

The Holy Spirit within us resists the flesh. Getting saved does not remove the flesh, it creates a struggle against sin. This struggle pushes us to depend on God

I depend on God 100% to help me with my flesh, old man...old nature.

Praise God for the indwelling Holy Spirit....our wonderful and precious helper...without I could not survive.

Yes, you do. like all of the following:
Most are my words..
Yes, you do. like all of the following
Yes...you do that a lot as well.
Galatians 5:16-17 KJVFor the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Galatians 5:16-21
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the fleshare evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

One can only walk in the Spirit...if they are Born Again.

Do you still sin? Is that from a carnal mind?
1 John 3:9
Audio Crossref Comment Greek
Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

New Living Translation
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God

It is through faith that we receive salvation. We can lose that salvation if we no longer have faith.
the bible never states the above. the disciples who were saved all lacked faith on many occasions, yet they were saved. In fact Peter denied Christ several times and remained saved.

God's Word teaches.... if we sow to the flesh (sin) then we shall reap corruption

This is of course WHY the Lord put provision in the New Covenant for Christians to be able to confess and forsake out sin so that we can become cleansed of unrighteousness and be back in right standing with the Lord once again.

Galatians 6:7-8 (see Gen 8:22)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For
he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

This is a major biblical truth the OSAS crowd always explains away or denies is simply this... God is NOT mocked, what we sow is what we reap - if we sow to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption. (Gal 6:7,8)

In Gal 6:8, the word corruption is...

G5356
fthora from G5351; decay, i.e. ruin -- corruption, destroy, perish.

G5351
strengthened from phthio (to pine or waste); properly, to shrivel or wither, i.e. to spoil or to ruin, by moral influences, to deprave): -- corrupt (self), defile, destroy.

If one claims we DO reap corruption when we sin, then they are admitting they do not believe OSAS / Eternal security doctrine (and sadly many of their friends will forsake them!).... and if one claims we DO NOT reap what we sow, then according to Gal 6:7, that would be mocking God!

Adam and Eve were given eternal life by the Lord when He created them... but when they sinned against God they became corrupt and died spiritually and became separated from God. So Gal 6:7,8 is quite the quandary, quite the state of uncertainty and perplexity for the adherents of OSAS doctrine.

It's sad that some many claiming to be Christians... only accept bit and pieces of God's Word

Sin has consequences but one of them is not losing ones salvation/eternal life.

it is sad how many professing christians deny Christs promise of eternal life and that no one and nothing can remove a believer from His hands. also see Romans 8- nothing can separate a person from Christ.

those who believe the lie are trusting in their own works to keep them saved and in good standing with God- it boils down to a lack of faith and trusting in themselves to keep them saved and not trusting in Christ alone for their salvation.

they want to believe they are saved by faith in the beginning then saved by works the rest of the time. nonsense.

hope this helps !!!

they just do not understand grace. or the cross..

Jesus solved the sin issue that separated man from God. and restored the relationship. If we receive his gift of eternal life.

the false doctrine is the false teaching that believers can lose their salvation/eternal life. It goes against scripture. Not one verse every says a person that is saved can become unsaved, the born again can lose their birth, those with eternal life can lost that life.

hope this helps !!!

Amen to that my friend. They do not believe the promises of God but truth in their own works to keep themselves saved. Its what the pharisees did that Jesus condemned, self righteousness.

Rom 11:20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.
Rom 11:21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
Rom 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
Rom 11:23 And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again.

Rom 11:24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

That was written to the saints in Rome. We were once lost. We are saved through faith (belief), we can be broken off (lost again) though lack of faith (unbelief).

This is talking about Israel and gentiles

not individuals.

context must always be applied when looking at a passage

No, absolutely not. Paul followed that with:

Rom 11:25 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers......

That is the context. He is speaking to his readers. The "you" in those verses are the readers of his letter. They are individuals.

Read romans 11.

It is about Isreal (blinded in part. and saved ) who are natural branches

And gentile believers (unnatural branches)

it is not about induvidual people..

Yes, we do not lose salvation because of sin. We can lose salvation because of unbelief, a failure to continue in faith in God.
so you believe a person who is shipwrecked, who is out in the middle of the ocean in a hurricane, who is bitten by a poisonous snake with no cure,

Who in faith trusted what God sent to save them, and was rescued from death

would want to go back to that death?

I have to question if you really know what you were saved from? Because I do not know why you would even think one would want to go back

Do you think Paul was lying when he wrote what we read in Romans 11:20,21?

Yes, we do not lose salvation because of sin. We can lose salvation because of unbelief, a failure to continue in faith in God.
1 Peter 1:3-5 KJV
3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

We are kept by the power of God, not our own power. Faith is the mechanism by which the power of God keeps us. Who is it who is born again who will lose faith even though God Himself is keeping them by giving them faith?

Much love!

Faith is not a gift given by God.
