I think these were called The Books of Wisdom, Job through Ecclesiastes, I think.

The "Law and the Prophets" were the books of the Old Covenant, "All that you say we will do", these were the "All that You say" part.

Much love!
Depends who you ask. The Jews divide their books into Law, Prophets, and Writings.

The New Testament writers, being Jewish, reference those categories, although they hold the Psalms to be prophetic, while modern Jews do not.

That's true for us all, but...

I think, perhaps, you're saying that you lack a person with whom you can discuss the Scriptures and hold each other accountable. Say it ain't so?
ain't so

and your pastor is welcome to come and learn as well = the Purpose that pleases God = learn from one another in the Body of Christ

Able was a Prophet = Able never said "thus saith the Lord" as recorded in Scripture
Pick me, pick me...
Can I be a Prophet?
I've never said, "Thus saith the Lord".

1 Corinthians 14:3 NIV
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

I posted this testimony a while back.

I got a word (prophetic message) for someone at church a week or two ago.
It had never happened to me before. It was a bit scary.

The Pastor asked for those who needed prayer to raise a hand.
We were instructed to gather around those with raised hands right where they were.

A young woman came over and laid a hand on me as I prayed for the woman behind me.
I got a word from the Lord (I believe) that was clear and memorable. These things can be fleeting.

"I release the gifts of the Spirit in your life. The Spirit distributes them as He wills for the good of the Body."

I added, "You can read about that in I Corinthians 12." And...
"I'm not sure if that is legitimate, you need confirmation."

She just smiled at me, somewhat amused.

I should probably share where I was at when this happened.
As I wrote, "It was a bit scary." So why did I follow through on this?

I have received prophecies for me on many occasions in the past.
Both spoken and written. And done some study on the subject.

Typically the "prophet" is given a puzzle piece.
They have no deep knowledge of what it is about.
In obedience to the "word" given them, they deliver it.

It is up to the one receiving the word to confirm it.
The word may be immediately meaningful,
or it may take years to be confirmed.

I delivered the word given to me. (in obedience)
I completed the task.

Thank You @St Steven

Everyone who says: JESUS Christ is Risen from the dead is speaking fulfilled prophecy

Everyone who proclaims: the LORD Jesus Christ is Coming Again/Back for the Resurrection/rapture is prophesying

as well as the Scripture you quoted = 1 Cor 14:3

1 Thess 5:16-22
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.

Uh... no he didn't
Oh YES Job did!!!

Though I speak, my grief is not relieved;
And if I remain silent, how am I eased?
7But now He has worn me out;
You have made desolate all my company.
8You have shriveled me up,
And it is a witness against me;
My leanness rises up against me
And bears witness to my face.
9He tears me in His wrath, and hates me;
He gnashes at me with His teeth;
My adversary sharpens His gaze on me.
10They gape at me with their mouth, = But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!
They strike me reproachfully on the cheek
, = “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face.
They gather together against me.
11God has delivered me to the ungodly,
And turned me over to the hands of the wicked
. = The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners
12I was at ease, but He has shattered me;
He also has taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces;
He has set me up for His target,
13His archers surround me.
He pierces my heart and does not pity;
He pours out my gall on the ground.
14He breaks me with wound upon wound; = "by His wounds we are healed"
He runs at me like a warrior.
15“I have sewn sackcloth over my skin,
And laid my head in the dust.
16My face is flushed from weeping,
And on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
Although no violence is in my hands= He was assigned a grave with the wicked....though he had done no violence"
And my prayer is pure. = "
nor was any deceit in His mouth."

Do not despise prophecies.
But you don't just get to make up who are and who are not Biblical prophets. Biblical prophets speak in the name of the LORD, and don't get things wrong when they do.

Do you truly dare to claim I despise prophecies? Do you? Because I can assure you this is not from the Holy Spirit, Who knows me so much better than that!

Much love!

Please review post 407 - thank you

I did not say you despise prophecies.............. unless you despise:
a.) "Immediately after the tribulation....I Come"
b.) even if these three men—Noah, Daniel, and Job—were in it, their righteousness could deliver only themselves, thus saith the Lord GOD.
c.) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise.
d.) "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him, HE shall appear the Second Time without sin unto salvation."
e.) Revelation ch7
Then one of the elders addressed me: “These in white robes,” he asked, “who are they, and where have they come from?”
14“Sir,” I answered, “you know.”
So he replied, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

If your behavior changes, I'll see that.

Follow the Path of righteousness in correct fellowship - James ch5

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming.
See how the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the soil—how patient he is for the fall and spring rains.
8You, too, be patient and strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.
9Do not complain about one another, brothers, so that you will not be judged. Look, the Judge is standing at the door!

10Brothers, as an example of patience in affliction, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
11See how blessed we consider those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

12Above all, my brothers, do not swear, not by heaven or earth or by any other oath. Simply let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, so that you will not fall under judgment.

David was said to have spoken by the Holy Spirit foretelling future events, so I'd have to include him in the prophets. I wasn't aware that modern Jews wouldn't agree. If I think about it, maybe I understand their viewpoint on that, though I don't agree.

Much love!

That's not what you claimed.

My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?

Job did not say this.

You would do well to stay with what is actually written.
oh marks,

marks, do not be like these people = "You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel."

You just violated your own rule: "this saith the Lord"

You know what that is called by the LORD???

As I said, if you should decide to do this, I'll see it. And I truly hope I do see that change in you!

Much love!
As God has said to you = repent from seeking to make yourself a judge = it stinks of hypocrisy

"You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel."
You should just honestly deal with the truth of the matter. Admit your error and we all just move on.
As God has said to you = repent from seeking to make yourself a judge = it stinks of hypocrisy
And you claim that the Holy Spirit is leading you to change your approach? Again, I'm not seeing it. Like always you post your put-downs of those with whom you disagree. God did not teach you to do that. That does not come from God.
