I have watched this movie probably a dozen times. A very good movie about persecution in China.

I've seen China Cry at least twice. Yes, good story. Saw Nora Lam interviewed on TBN years ago.

Watched another movie based on true events called Terrorist Next Door. About the terrorist who planned to explode a bomb at LAX during the turn of the Millennium. He operated out of a sleeper cell in Montreal, Canada. Authorities had them under surveillance.

It's free on Tubi...app or website.

I'm watching The Most Reluctant Convert: The Untold Story of C.S. Lewis.

It's very good...as most of you know, he was formerly an atheist. I think his mother dying and his father's very harsh ways with him and his brother as children probably caused that.

I'll finish watching it tomorrow. It's free on Tubi app or website. Well acted and nice scenery of England.

Watched ‘ The Butler ‘ on Sunday- so sad what happened to so many because of the colour of their skin and how they had to fight to get equal rights. It’s a film from 2013 , but I had not seen it before. Follows the life of Cecil Gaines who eventually became a butler at the White House.

Movie - “Hacksaw Ridge”.

Based on the true story of “Desmond Doss”, who joined the Army, (WWII), but refused to carry a rifle. (Religious). Is an outcast by his fellow soldiers and commanding officers. Attempted to be booted out of Service and court marshaled…
He ends up single handedly rescuing and estimated 75 soldiers left for dead on a high ridge in Japan. Begins with a bit of back story of his youth, Parents and brother, rescuing a man inured and meeting his future wife.
Oh that is such a good movie, I highly recommend.

I liked two Tom Hanks films based on true stories - Captain Phillips and Sully
Have not seen either, but I remember that plane landing on the Hudson River, NY and everyone getting out alive, that really was a miracle.

It's a good film. He saved them all but they tried to blame him for the crash.

Watched the true story called Congo. (There's another movie titled that but it's fiction). It's about two white guys that are mercenaries who take a job in the Congo. They are captured and put in prison there. One guy's mother was a Christian, moved there and fought to help him get out. He had been given life sentences.

It's free on Tubi app or website.

Just watched Abandoned. There's two movies with the same name. The one I watched is true and about four men who are capsized at sea and how they survived. They are lost at sea for 119 days. They departed from New Zealand and I won't tell you where they ended up in case you want to watch the movie. @Angelina

This is the full movie if you are interested.

I am at a point where I cannot watch anything but either something based on true life such as a biography or histoirical events. Or maybe a documentary such as on space or social events. Or about peoples experiences even if that may seem unreal such as encounters with aliens.

Sometimes this may be a hollywood production like 'Noah' which may get a few things wrong. But its that its loosely based on true events.

I especially like good life true stories of people rising up against the odds. I rewatched the Revenant the other night. Loosely based on frontiersman Hugh Glass's experiences in 1823.

I am also watch the Chosen on Christ and the disciples and 'David' based on King David. I also like period movies such as about medievil times or about Vikings and the monarchy. Or in Roman or Egyptian times. Some examples are

Schindler's List
Alive
Unbroken
Shawshank redemption
Hacksaw Ridge
Lion
The Social Network
A Beautiful Mind
Apocalypto
Cadillac Records
Walk the Line
Ray
42
The Theory of Everything
Exodus: Gods and Kings
Vikings
The Last Kingdom
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
(its true I tell you, its true).
Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits movies (they told me it was true and by the time I worked out it was fiction I was hooked). Well you could imagine it was true.

PS I forgot to mention I also am liking the Ai short movies on history and especially the old testament stories. I just watched Daniel in Babylon. I also watched how Bethlehem looked at the time of Christs birth. The narrow back streets and buildings ect. It is very realistic nowadays and it allows you to see a real life depiction of the bible stories and other historical events.

I watched The Revenant twice. Amazing true story.

Have you ever seen Open Water? True story about the young couple left by a tour boat in shark infested waters? It happened in Australia. I've seen it twice.

Yes and I am glad I rewatched it. It never becomes boring and I was glued to the screen. I watched it again as I also read something about the true story. Some movies are worth watching again. Especially real life ones.

Yes a creepy and intense movie when they are left among the open waters and the incoming sharks. It would be horrible as most of the waters have sharks and its a matter of luck that you don't end up becoming their lunch.

Though not a movie have you seen how pro surfer Mick Fanning was almost taken by a shark only a few hundred meters out while everyone including the media captured the event. A wave came and no one could see if he was safe or not for a few seconds.

He virtually missed the shark with open mouth coming for him by inches due to spotting it and manouvering away from it.

I swim at beaches but only within flags and where there are nets. Most surfers go beyond this parimeter to catch the best waves. Quite a few have been taken. I could not do it. Though in my younger days I have ventured into open waters and isolated beaches.

A women just across in the bay where I live was just swimming in a public area off a boat ramp with her dog and got taken. The sharks have increased and have become more game.

I remeber watching Jaws and it freaked me out. I don't think anyone went in the water after that lol.

Oh wow, that was heart stopping video! When I used to go to Santa Monica pier and beach, I only waded just about my ankles. Yes, chicken I know. LOL Always leery of what I might step on.

There have been more shark sightings at Santa Monica too. They think because of warmer water.

Another good real life survival movie I watched was Jungle (2017) with Daniel Radcliffe. Its about these 4 guys I think and their adventure into the Amazon jungle and how they got seperated and lost.

Everyone made it out except for Radcliffe who was playing real life survivor Yossi Ghinsberg's and his 1981 ordeal.

The amazing thing was that he survived for one. But that one of his friends did not give up after everyone else had stopped searching. He hired a private local with a boat to go up the river deep into the jungle to look for him.

I won't tell you what happens in the end. But its a great edge of your seat adventure that turns bad.

There have been similar ones based in Australia and I have also seen some on the surviving the deserts in America. One that comes to mind was Outback (2019). I like movies like this.

Just watched this movie about flight 93 that the 9/11 hijackers were trying to fly to Washington DC... probably to crash into the White House.

The passengers died heroes trying to retake the airplane. It crashed two hours from where I was raised in Pennsylvania.

There's a chapel and a memorial there. My childhood friend visited the chapel and took photos. The mural in the chapel shows God's hands reaching out of the sky towards the falling airplane. The serving cart used by the passengers to ram the cockpit door is on display. @Wrangler @Riven @Armour of God

About the movie...Liam Neeson isn't in it.
