should I continue?
to the next post, sure. imo the first two there are mostly divisive, and the last two are not, but we are mostly indicating perspectives here now i guess. Relative terms like "old" or "white" might be used divisively, but they don't have to be. etc

First of all, I don't live in the states anymore and know about "free" healthcare from first hand experience. Many die with it. Man's good feelings do not produce anything good.
Yeah, the “death panels”. *Yawn*. Fact is that the average life expectancy is highest in countries with some form of universal healthcare. You’ll also find that it’s countries with universal healthcare that are the least corrupt. Also most of these countries spent less money on healthcare for better results than the US does.

As far as Acts 4:32, this doesn't work anymore. Do you remember communes back in the 60's. They didn't work. Do you know why?
Don’t know much about Hippie-communes in the 60’s, but I do know that the oldest monastery still around was founded at around 300 AD. Quite impressive, don’t you think?

As for Acts 4:32: If it doesn’t work anymore, it’s probably because there’s too few Christians around who take their faith seriously enough to pull it off. Most of us (including myself) will go the way of the rich young man in Matthew 19:16-26. However, don’t fret: while I admire all Christians who did and do, I’m not expecting you to give up all your possessions and live in a Christian commune. Point of Acts 4:32 being that Christianity at its core is about sharing and not about the selfish individualism promoted in our neoliberal capitalist world and regurgitated by some American Christians who’ve seemingly internalized conservative catchphrases more than they internalized the Bible. If you need more:

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)

And I NEVER said the poor should not be helped. Just not by the govt.
The govt only helps itself and distrubutes some crumbs just to look good.
I’m all for private charity, the more the better. But seeing that there are places in the US that are so poor that they are plagued by third world diseases, it seems that in spite of all these pious US Christians there aren’t enough charitable donors around to build a social net that works for all. It’s more as if the rich just give some crumbs to look good rather than being willing to pay taxes for the kind of “new deal” that did effectively help the poor.

So can you me give me any reason other than the personal selfishness, you've expressed, why ‘Bible-believing’ Christians living in a democracy should cast their votes for political programs that will disadvantage the poor and oppressed rather than helping them?

Of course I said the "middle of His road" while your reference in Revelation speaks of the whole spectrum of works that people do. Those who are cold or lukewarm would not I believe be on His road at all although the lukewarm ones might think that they were...

Well, your analogy is yours. Interpret it however you like. Personally I don't see any middle of the road at all when a believer is in the way. One is on the road or he is not. To say one can be in the way but fall of into the pit because he is too far left or right is ridiculous.

yes, Christ surely meant "leave the world, except politics, get all the way up in that" lol. That would be a vast improvement over the ditch you were in, imo, even if i see you changing here

Shame on you, for twisting analogies to your purpose, too, that's pretty sketchy, Stranger.
You want to accuse brothers of being lukewarm, i got some recent "Who cares?" quotes you could try to look at dispassionately, lol.
You would condemn Paul for being all things to all people here in a hurry, i guess

Got some crackers with that whine.

Everyday christians are murdered by muslims simply because they are christian. as a fulfillment of the commands set forth in their holy Quran.

I can't see myself supporting such behavior.

Really? Well, funnily enough it seems to me that here are topics in which I’m far more ‘conservative’ than you are. For example I have rather strong views on divorce and unrepentant adulterers. Wanna open a thread on that?
