I Don't See The Future "Antichrist/Beast" Ruling Supreme As Many Teach And Claim?
Rev 11:1-15 Is A Good Summary Of The Tribulation, The Two Witnesses Will Be In Control, Just Like The Day's Of Moses, Aaron, And Pharoh In Egypt, Same Scenario
Revelation 11:3-6 & 10KJV
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Not saying that you're right or wrong, but consider this. Revelation 11 of the two witness are the ministry of John the Baptist and the Lord Jesus the Christ the "diversity" of God in human flesh.
a breakdown of the scriptures you gave. not to say that this is the only belief of these scriptures.
Revelation 11:3 "And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth”.
In order for man to come to God he must have power, the power to believe. And that persuasion is first in the POWERFUL MESSAGE called the Gospel, which is made manifested in the Spirit. only Spirit filled men and women can preach the TRUE GOSPEL MESSAGE, meaning in the POWER of the Holy Spirit. Supportive scripture, of the persuasive message, the gospel. Matthew 3:1 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, Matthew 3:2 "And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”.
is John one of the two witness with POWER? Yes, John 1:6 "There was a man sent from God, whose name was John
John 1:7 "The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe”.
do he have the Spirit the Power to preach? yes from birth, Luke 1:13 "But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Luke 1:14 "And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Luke 1:15 "For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and
he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb".
But can we CLEARLY establish John as a witness? Yes, John 1:19 "And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
The word “Record” here is the Greek word for a “
martyr” (meaning witness).
G3141 μαρτυρία marturia (mar-tï-riy'-a) n.
evidence given (judicially or genitive case).
[from G3144]
KJV: record, report, testimony,
witness
BUT LET’S LOOK AT THE ROOT OF THIS WORD,
G3144 μάρτυς martus (mar'-tïs) n.
1.
a witness.
2. (literally) judicially.
3. (by analogy) a “martyr” (meaning witness).
{literally or figuratively (genitive case)}
[of uncertain affinity]
KJV: martyr, record, witness
now the lenght of the ministry,
a thousand two hundred and threescore days is exactly 42 months or 3 1/2 years, the exact length, or measure of the Lord Jesus ministry.
Cloths in sackcloth, meaning preaching repentance. sackcloth means penitence. and the definition of penitence is the action of feeling or showing sorrow and regret for having done wrong; repentance. the first thing out of John the Baptist mouth, "REPENT". Scripture, Matthews 3:1 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight". now the Lord Jesus, Scripture, Matthews 4:16 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". so we have the two witness, John and the Lord Jesus.
in verse 4, just read Zechariah chapter 4....
and as for verse 5, "
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed"
simply, Jeremiah 5:14 "Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold,
I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them”. if one would read that 5th chapter of Jeremiah, one will see who this fire, the word of God devoured. It was false prophets.
both John and the Lord Jesus both had fiery mouth, they told the truth, which made both martyr/witness.
verse 10, they did tormented the Jews in High places, which they gave gifts or pay off to the Roman guard who witness the stone being rolled away. Matthew 28:11 "Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
Matthew 28:12 "And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel,
they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Matthew 28:13 "Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
Matthew 28:14 "And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you".
again the two witness evidence John the baptist, and the Lord Jesus.
