Because the Christian world ignores what is written in God's Word and this topic is the perfect example of that.
So, you agree a preacher should wear a tie when preaching????
lol.
Welcome to Christian Forums, a Christian Forum that recognizes that all Christians are a work in progress.
You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.
We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

Is the Scripture wrong then? If not, have you obeyed it? If not, why not?It took me reading a few posts before I "got there too."
Amadeus probably knew right away...he used to be Oneness.
Friends of ours tried to get us re-baptised. But as Jesus told us Himself that "the Father and I are One"...we could not see any reason for all the hype.
And Jesus beating the money changers out of the temple? Looking upon them with anger! No use discussing with you.
You seems to become offensive and angry.
Certainly not one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit at work here.
I spent 11 years within the Oneness, Jesus Only churches so I do know what he intends, but he is looking only at the literal without considering the spiritual part. They put a strong emphasis on saying the words as spoken during the water baptism by Peter here:I honestly have no idea what you are trying to argue about.
There is nothing in this post to me , from you...that I disagree with.
So what is your argument?

I agree. It is so hard to tell the difference alot of times, until you really get to know the churchWe attend a UPC once and awhile.
I know what's going on.
I'm just happy that not all UPC churches are the same.
Some are very legalistic others not so much.
And Jesus beating the money changers out of the temple? Looking upon them with anger!
But if it is put in front of you and you have the chance, why not do it.You sound very angry!!
WHO are you mad at?
WHO did not get baptized in water, once ?
I did.
But, that being said.
If you are trying to have an argument about baptism.
I have read that many great men who were used of God...did not get baptised in water.
The thief on the cross did not get baptised in water...
MANY death bed conversions did not get baptised in water.
Please stop being so angry and just calmly explain yourself and your thoughts.
Bless you.
But don't get angry simply because someone disagrees with you. If you are absolutely certain that you are always right on every point and that your opponents are absolutely wrong on every point and you are absolutely certain that God wants you to get angry with them then go ahead. Remember that none of us here are Jesus who never sinned and never made a mistake and who always acted in perfect compliance with His Father's will. This includes me and it includes you.And Jesus beating the money changers out of the temple? Looking upon them with anger!
I spent 11 years within the Oneness, Jesus Only churches so I do know what he intends, but he is looking only at the literal without considering the spiritual part. They put a strong emphasis on saying the words as spoken during the water baptism by Peter here:
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
In other words for baptism say: "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins".
Nothing wrong with that, but the words alone without being IN the name spiritually can be meaningless as per my example of using the name of Jesus in a bar room as a curse word.
In Afrikaans it's "Here Jesus Christus", in English it is the "Lord Jesus Christ", in latin or Hebrew it might be pronounced different but He is known in every tongue. So what's your point? And what is that name that you want to say with your mouth as you are dunking a person in water [H2O]?
Is it Jesus, or Jehoshua or Yeshua or Jesu? Should it be pronounced as in English or as in Greek or as in German or as in Hebrew or...etc?
If a deaf mute is doing the dunking, should he let the person sink while he spells out J.E.S.U.S with his hands? The key is not in the physical word spoken but the being IN His name. Perhaps the following verse will help you understand better what it means to "in the name":
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matt 18:20
The first UPC attended was where I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is where I first spoke in tongues in 1976. It was where I was taught to read the Bible for the first time in my life. I have been reading it ever since. We attend a UPC once and awhile.
I know what's going on.
I'm just happy that not all UPC churches are the same.
Some are very legalistic others not so much.
You were the one that said I don't act according to the "Gift". So what is acting according to the "Gift"? A reed shaken by the wind? Some spineless little someone to scared to stand with God's Word between those who butcher Him with their unbelief?I have news for you:
Don't compare yourself to Jesus Christ.
And you are not in the temple, you are on a forum.
Getting angry will get you no where and certainly will not convert anybody to your ideas of thinking.
Angry because people don't agree with me, I couldn't care less. But when we are finished, for once in your life you would have heard the truth. What you do with it afterwards is up to you.But don't get angry simply because someone disagrees with you. The anger if it is the anger which Jesus had because those should know better how to please God flagrantly do not, that is one thing. To get angry because someone disagrees with our beliefs is very much another. People with little resemblance to Jesus in so many things want to excuse their actions by His. Who of us is already completely as Jesus was when He walked planet Earth as a man about 2000 years ago? Not me!Thank you John
I had hoped that you would step in a clarify it a bit.
It is the anger that I do not understand.
But then again...in my 53 years of being a Christian I have to sadly say that legalists of often angry....they want everyone to toe the line. "Their line" ....
The Word without the Spirit brings forth death.
So, if you have the Holy Ghost then getting baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ as the Scripture says, should be a real honor. The first UPC attended was where I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is where I first spoke in tongues in 1976. It was where I was taught to read the Bible for the first time in my life. I have been reading it ever since.
Yet... in that same assembly when I was completely ignorant of the Bible and knew little about God, the pastor rebuked me in front of the whole congregation for asking him to please explain to me using the scriptures what authority he had as a pastor.
This is not your pulpit where only you are allowed to speak. If you speak just to be civil to show the charity about the Apostle Paul wrote you also need to really pay attention to what the other person is saying. You believe that you are right... but so does he.Angry because people don't agree with me, I couldn't care less. But when we are finished, for once in your life you would have heard the truth. What you do with it afterwards is up to you.
Exactly! So why then ignore that Scripture? The anger if it is the anger which Jesus had because those should know better how to please God flagrantly do not, that is one thing. To get angry because someone disagrees with our beliefs is very much another. People with little resemblance to Jesus in so many things want to excuse their actions by His. Who of us is already completely as Jesus was when He walked planet Earth as a man about 2000 years ago? Not me!
I'm giving you people the chance to look at God's Word and test your own experience with it. I challange you, take a look, see if it is not right. Or prove me wrong. Scripturaly. This is not your pulpit where only you are allowed to speak. If you speak just to be civil to show the charity about the Apostle Paul wrote you also need to really pay attention to what the other person is saying. You believe that you are right... but so does he.
"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2
Does Scripture say that? So, you agree a preacher should wear a tie when preaching????
lol.
