The world I see as being the ways of the world. Satan is the prince of this world so I agree with Nancy.

We need to consider the context carefully.

"The world" in the Bible can mean various things: (a) all the inhabitants of the earth, (b) the unsaved of humanity, or (c) the philosophies, religions, and mind-set of those controlled by the systems of this world (which are essentially against God and Christ) and "the god of this world" (Satan).

When John says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world", it should be clear that John is NOT speaking about the inhabitants of the world, since God so loved the world (all of humanity) that He gave his only begotten Son.

So what did John mean? What he meant was that all that is worldly and focused on self -- the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is opposed to God, godliness, and whatever is of the Spirit. Those who love "the world" in this sense cannot truly love God.

Also "the world" and "the earth" can be used interchangeably in the Bible, so in the end discernment is required. For example in Rev 14:19 "the vine of the earth" is a metaphor for the unbelieving, the ungodly, and the wicked.

And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth [the inhabitants of the world], and gathered the vine of the earth [the wicked] , and cast it into the great winepress [the judgments] of the wrath of God.

One can read the Bible and find out what Zion is.
And then one can look to them who call themselves Zionist, there is a difference.

Zionism was a movement which began in the 19th century to create a nation-state of Israel in Palestine (which was primarily occupied by Arabs). It was essentially secular, and meant to give the Jews of Europe a homeland. The nation-state of Israel was established in 1948 but there was much conflict. The conflict has continued ever since.
