Absolutely, your comment here is true.
Love is not merely an emotion; love is an active creative spiritual power.
Death too is not merely a state of being. Death is also an active destructive spiritual power.
This is how we should be reading the word 'love' and 'death' throughout the Scriptures. Both words are describing active spiritual forces which are in constant opposition to each other.
It's not for nothing that the Bible says that God is love ... synonymous with His powers. Equally, the powers of Death are synonymous with the works of Satan. At the culmination of all things, love will be said to have conquered all ... even Death itself. Love triumphs over everything visible and invisible.

You have overlooked v10,
"BUT God HAS revealed them to us by His Spirit"

Very good thread Clark. Yes indeed God's love is the most powerful force at work in all of creation.

Paul confirms what he wrote to the Corinthians in his letter to the Ephesians.


14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.
