First time I read the passage, it was clear to me that I needed to believe in Christ's Deity or else be condemned.

The Son is "the Man Christ Jesus"...fully God and fully man...the Father come in human flesh.

On what basis do you qualify that he wasn't born again? After all, he didn't need to repent in order to be saved...
Actually I do not base my salvation on my "stellar performance".
However, if I have a "stellar performance" it is because I am saved and being sanctified by the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 13:12, Hebrews 10:29) and being cleansed from all sin (1 John 1:7) by that same blood.
You would distort when I am teaching what is on one side of the coin with what I teach about what is on the other side of the coin. So that heads is tails and tails is heads.
Don't do that.
The reality is that "Lucky Repentance" as you call it, is a biblical doctrine (Galatians 5:19-21, Ezekiel 33:19 w/ context in Ezekiel 33:11-20, Luke 13:1-5, 2 Corinthians 12:20-21, Romans 6, Acts 3:19, Matthew 5:20; 1 Corinthians 15:37, Matthew 13:30; and many more).

Faith is Trust.
IT becomes a WORK, once a person is Saved by Grace, and then they fall into the mental bondage of....>"i have to hold unto my faith, to keep myself saved".
This is someone like justbyfaith, or ferris beuller.
These 2 are trying to keep themselves saved, by trusting in their faith as their savior.
Thats a fail, as that is a shifted faith, that sounds correct, and teaches like its truth, but in fact its just classic legalism that is pretending to be real faith in Christ, yet isn't.

No, that's what you say. What I'm saying is you have to continue to trust in the blood of Christ (not trust in faith, how stupid) to keep it applied to your life. It got applied to you through faith and it will continue to be applied to you through faith. That's why the Bible tells us to keep believing the word of the gospel.
...see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us—eternal life. 1 John 2:24-25
It's a condition. You have to let the word remain in you for the Son and the Father to remain in you.

YOu can deny sin and be an atheist.
Denying sin, is a self effort, and this has no ability to make you righteous.
So, you have to be made righteous, or as Jesus says, "you must be BORN AGAIN"
DENYING SIN, IS quite meaningless with respect to WHY God accepts you and keeps you.

SEE THAT "CONTINUE", THAT IS YOUR SELF EFFORT. pretending that what you are doing, is why you are saved, or why God keeps you.
So, stop trusting in YOURSELF, in YOUR DOING SOMETHING, and begin to trust in CHRIST to do for you, what you can't do for yourself by "continuing".
Born again is not what you DO for yourself by "continuing", deceiver.

Can you explain why "hold firmly to our confidence" to be a part of God's household is not a work when the writer of Hebrews says it, but it is when I say it? Even the original osas teaching says you have to continue to believe.
