No probability about it. The most important part is the phrase "Shall give thee."

And so, you can't argue with it, that God will give Abraham the land he walked on this earth.

Instead, you divert to arguments about what does "for ever" mean.

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Not so! Again, you are missing the point. It was a temporary provision under the old covenant for Israel and a picture of Christ and the new covenant. Once the NT came there was no mention or provision of real estate in Palestine. Christ was the promised land. He is the fulfilment of the OT types and shadows.

When Christ appeared at His first advent, the Jews imagined, like you, He would reinstate the now defunct earthly throne of Israel and reign victorious over the physical nation. Luke 17:20-21 records an interesting discourse between Christ and the Pharisees on the subject of the kingdom of God, saying, He was “demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come.”

Jesus answered “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21).

The Lord revealed, in His response, that the kingdom of God – His kingdom – was not a literal earthly domain neither could it be viewed like other kingdoms with their outward splendor, impressive power and magnitude. It was, rather, a spiritual kingdom, which could only be spiritually entered. The kingdom of God is not a physical temporal kingdom that can be naturally observed or enjoyed but rather a spiritual kingdom, which is spiritually entered.

Jesus, whilst speaking to Pilate shortly before His death, declared, “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice” (John 18:36-37).

No longer would God’s kingdom be restricted to the physical nation of Israel. From now on it would be open to a spiritual nation, comprised of people from all nations, kindred’s and tongues.

Jesus asked the Jews in Matthew 21:42-44, saying, “Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

The physical dimension of the kingdom had now become a spiritual one in which Christ would be the sole King. 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, “the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”

The kingdom of God exists wherever the King – the Lord Jesus Christ – exercises His intimate spiritual jurisdiction. His kingdom embodies all those who possess the indwelling Holy Spirit – those who are born-again of the Spirit of God. Christ’s Kingdom is therefore found wherever there are citizens of that kingdom.

And again, let's all dive deep into the Hebrew or Greek, because good ol' English is just not good enough, for the more higher scholarship the most learned, who never pass up a chance to show it.

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

The OT circumcision, sabbath, and law was called an everlasting covenant, and yet it is now old and decayed.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

It was everlasting, so long as the people were faithful, which ended at the cross of Jesus Christ.

And so, Abraham will likewise be given the land promised to him on this earth, so long as this earth is habitable, which will end with fire from God out of heaven.

Scripture always proves itself, without any need whatsoever for the pseudo-science of man's scholarship. That is why the wise of this world despise the plain speech of the Bible.

If you would actually take the time to look at the Hebrew and Greek original languages it might help you see the folly of your position. You cannot seem to even grasp the plain reading of the English translations and their emphasis upon Christ and the new covenant. Your unhealthy and unbiblical fixation with ethnic Israel and the old covenant is a common Premil error. Until you see the futility of that, you will never abandon your theology.

The actual usage of the word `owlam elsewhere in the Old Testament negates a rigid insistence on an eternal duration.

Let us look at the usage of this word throughout the Old Testament. The Hebrew word `owlam (Strong’s 5769) comes up 438 in the Old Testament. A detailed survey of its usage should either confirm or contradict our thesis so far that this cannot be limited to eternity.

Examining the employment of the word in the Old Testament one quickly sees that an insistence upon translating the word only as “forever” would totally negate the teaching and historic reality of many ancient texts. In short: the word `owlam/`olam cannot just mean “forever.”

These Judaic traditions have been historically terminated. This is a fact. This is unquestionable. It has been physically impossible for Israel to continue them since the destruction of the temple in AD 70 – as Christ predicted. No one could dispute that. Therefore, we have overwhelming grounds to query interpreting this word `owlam to mean “for ever’ (as it is often done in many versions of the Bible) and viewing these promises as eternal.

Premils are so enthralled with the old covenant arrangement that they cannot seem to accept the removal of the shadow, type and figure. Amillennialism interprets the Old by the New. This is the correct and only way to comprehend the detail of the OT. Amillennialists believe Jesus Christ was the final sacrifice for sin.

It is as if Christ’s perfect life, atoning death and glorious resurrection are not enough for Premils; not perfect enough, not satisfactory enough, and not final enough.

The reality is: the shedding of His blood satisfied the Father and reconciled the sinner to God, securing eternal redemption (1 John 1:7). By attempting to reintroduce animal sacrifices, Premillennialism does great injury to the work of Christ on the Cross, undoes the once all-sufficient sacrifice that Christ made for sin, undermines the eternal nature of the atonement, and disregards numerous New Testament passages that conclusively prove that Christ’s blood sacrifice was final and eternal. The Old Testament system that employed animal sacrifices was nailed to the Cross and blotted out according to the New Testament.

Colossians 2:14 plainly and unambiguously declares, that Christ's atonement resulted in the “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.”

The Greek word for “Blotting out” here is exaleiphō (eks-ä-lā'-fō) meaning: ‘to wipe off, wipe away, to obliterate, erase, wipe out, blot out’

These old covenant ordinances (rites and rituals) pertaining to the ceremonial law were obliterated at the cross.

For those that still anticipate the renaissance of the old abolished ordinances we need to ask: When did (or will) the “blotting out the handwriting of ordinances” occur? From this passage it is clear, Christ “took it out of the way” by “nailing it to his cross.” These ordinances embraced the old covenant civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical law. They were finished at the cross.

Colossians 2:16-17 tells us: “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

The Greek word translated “holyday” here is heorte meaning feast or festival. Of 27 mentions of this word in the normally precise KJV, it is interpreted “feast” in all of them apart from here.

New American Standard interprets: “Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day -- things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.”

The Living Bible says, “So don't let anyone criticize you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating Jewish holidays and feasts or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these were only temporary rules that ended when Christ came. They were only shadows of the real thing-of Christ himself.”

Paul is saying here that the old covenant feasts and festivals simply served as types and shadows of things that were to come. They looked forward to the new covenant arrangement and the reality and substance in Christ. The Jews of Ezekiel’s day and Zechariah’s day would never have understood this.

Colossians 2:20-22 finally sums up the sums up the biblical position today: “Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men?”

This is not talking about the moral law, it is talking about the ceremonial law. It is a redundant system. Christ took the whole old system away. The old Mosaic ceremonial law is completely gone. It is useless.

Christianity took us away from the old Mosaic ceremonial law completely. Those who argue for a return to the old system fail to see that it has been rendered obsolete through the new covenant.

Hebrews 7:18-19 makes clear: “For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”

This word “disannulling” is taken from the Greek word athetesis meaning cancellation.

The phrase “weakness and unprofitableness” used here to describe the old abolished system actually reads asthenes kai anopheles literally meaning: feeble and impotent useless and unprofitable.

It is hard to believe that Christians would promote the return, on the new earth of all places, of such a hopeless discarded arrangement.

And now, the personal accusations.

The pattern is always the same: Give Scripture than cannot be denied. The Scripture is avoided altogether. Continue going back to the Scripture, and not be diverted. The Scripture is finally addressed disingenuously. Conclude the Scripture cannot be denied. Personal accusation from the frustrated and angry against the messenger.

Look in the mirror! Your attacks are vicious and un-called for.

I have learned, that when someone speaks of making "A careful study" of something, they are only diverting attention away from their glaring errors, with longwinded displays of scholarship. They also always include the learned words of great theological dissertation, such as passages, assumptions reinforced, holy bar of God, eternal sentences, mortal rebels, giftings, and unnecessary dives into original languages.

It is nothing but cover for missing the obvious, like swallowing camels while straining at gnats:

I'm thinking one of the main reasons some people are so vehemently against the Lord and King reigning over His kingdom on earth, is that it's much more intellectually stimulating and fun to spend countless hours perfecting pseudo-scholarship, rather than just take Scripture as written and believe it.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.

You pretend spiritual understanding with fanciful words only, not with Scriptural truth.

Scripture always proves itself, without any need whatsoever for the pseudo-science of man's scholarship. That is why the wise of this world despise the plain speech of the Bible.

Your vicious insults are obviously a smokescreen to cover your lack of biblical support.

All these words to mask the fact, that God's promise to given the land to Abraham, that he personally walked upon around Mamre, was before and not dependent upon the later covenant the Lord made with him and his seed.

That land is from the Nile to the Euphrates, which Abraham never walked upon himself.

Abraham will be given that land as promised by God. And Job will see his redeemer standing on the earth.

Only if God is a liar, and Job is a false prophet, can the Lord's return be fire out of heaven to scorch the whole earth, unless of course He then gives a smouldering part of it to Abraham.

Not nice.

The whole focus here is Christ, as it in the rest of Hebrews and the rest of the New Testament. The physical land of Israel is nowhere promised as an inheritance for natural Israel or spiritual Israel the Church. Indeed: “he is the mediator of the new testament.”

Jesus never taught anything about land promises to national Israel; Paul never mentioned any. None of the New Testament writers did so. While the land was obviously significant during the Old Testament era, it is entirely insignificant in the New Testament. The New Testament reverses the narrow and provincial focus of the Old Testament and broadens it out with a new concern for all nations. The sole focus of the New Testament is Christ and the expanse of the Gospel from the little land of Israel to the whole world.

Jesus made it clear in the Beatitudes that his focus was on the whole earth, and not simply the land of Israel, saying: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). Paul confirms this in Romans 4.13, speaking about Abraham, the great father of the faithful, saying: “For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”

The hope of Israel was/is Christ. Not real estate in the Middle East.

Hebrews 3:14-4:1 says, For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

Let us pause for a moment and note what happened here to God’s people and see what God is saying in this passage. They “came out of Egypt” which is a picture of the world. But that is not where it was supposed to finish. They were to then enter into “his rest.” Of course, in the Old Testament the physical Promised Land was the goal. Canaan was always viewed as the Promised Land, the earthly place of rest of the people of God in the Old Testament; however, it was not viewed as the eternal rest.

When we consider the restoration promises God gave Israel by way of the Old Testament prophets, we must do so through the lens of the person and work of Christ.

Hebrews 4:1-11 tells us, “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

The place of rest is “a promise” (Hebrews 4:1) and a provision of God for the people of God. That rest is not an abstract thing – it is Christ. The writer of Hebrews presents the Israelites failure to literally enter into their rest (the Promised Land), because of their disobedience and lack of faith, as a warning to New Testament professing believers against not entering their rest in Christ through faith. That land can only be entered by faith or “with faith” (Hebrews 4:2), thus proving we are looking at the great salvation that Christ offers. When a man enters into that place of rest (salvation in Christ) he ceases “from his own works” (Hebrews 4:10). One can never gain favor with God through “good works” – this is a repeated truth throughout Scripture.

The writer to the Hebrews here relates entering into rest under the New Covenant as entering into Christ in salvation. This is the inheritance for every saint of God (Jew or Gentile) in our day. He is everything. It is a spiritual condition that brings peace to the soul, not a troubled geographical location in the Middle East. It is simply described in this reading as “his rest” – Christ’s rest. Moreover, that rest comes through simple faith in the Saviour.

Where there are created beings and nations in need of healing, there is time for it.

You're habit of ignoring points made, proves your worthless participation.

Your jokes aren't even funny, because it has nothing to do with anything.
The only joke presented is claims of a future Millennial Kingdom on this earth

Jesus returns in fire and final judgment (/he End) there isn't a Millennial Kingdom on earth to follow as you claim

Explain what facts are masked by the Words of Scripture.

Feel free to present any Scripture that disproves what WPM and I have cited.

Christ is the Heir. Hebrews 1:1,2

Abraham rejoiced to see His day. John 8:56

You can rejoice along with Abraham.

No thanks.

I'm unimpressed by extended scholarship wrapped around Scripture, rather than a simple and certain sense of Scripture.

If you stick to a sentence or two, as you see me doing, then I'd be much more interested.

Just think of me as a little child ready to listen to something plain spoken.

incorporate that into your teaching, and it will be less of your own mindset and more by Scripture of truth.

Otherwise, You need to stick with learned scholars, that appreciate learned scholarship and endless disputes, that please the intellectual glands only.

For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.

More ad hominem. More vicious comments. That seems to be your prime arguments. Why not admit your theology is extra-biblical?

I already do, and I'm not saying you're not.

You, however for some reason, refuse to let Abraham rejoice to see the day of being given the land he walked on.

Either you are jealous, or you can't see both spiritual and natural prophecy being fulfilled at the same time.

I can rejoice now as Abraham for the day of Christ, and by remaining faithful to the end of this life, I will also rejoice with Abraham to see the land given to him, as the Lord promised.
Did Abraham rejoice that he (Abraham) was the heir; or did he rejoice that Christ was the Heir?

Brother, we both believe that Jesus is God. Perhaps we can unite on that basis?
Please don't lie on a Christian forum. You do not believe that Jesus is God. Everyone here knows that God is eternal and created the heavens and the earth. You don't believe that Jesus is eternal and you don't believe that He created the heavens and the earth even though scripture clearly teaches that.

My concern after all this discussion, is whether or not Christians believe that Jesus is a human man.
LOL. What Christian doesn't believe that? I don't know of any Christian who doesn't believe that Jesus is fully human AND fully God at the same time.
