Why couldn't Jesus say that?

Satan is eternally damned.
Would Jesus share communion with Satan?

He told Satan,in Judas,to go and do what he must do. Must do.

If Judas was dead set on betraying Jesus to death, would he repent?
Father forgive them for they know not what they do.

Judas didn't know Satan was within him. But Jesus did.
The context is in relation to the disciples that were given to Jesus and He said none of them (the disciples given to Him) was lost except for one that he called the son of perdition.

Can you please paraphrase the verse for me to show exactly how you interpret it?

Do you think Judas Iscariot was saved and not lost even after betraying Jesus?

Actually if a person is actually a Christian.... its not possible to misunderstand The Cross of Christ and God's Grace and not be a Legalistic Heretic, = as that is what causes it.
Hmmm... "not possible to misunderstand The Cross of Christ and God's Grace and not be a Legalistic Heretic..." That's... quite a mouthful... <smile>. I disagree. All that's needed to be "actually a Christian" is faith as a mustard seed. No one in this life is perfect in knowledge; true knowledge is a gift of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8), and, as in all gifts of the Spirit, some are gifted more than others in it... each gift is apportioned to individual Christians as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:11; to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good (1 Corinthians 12:7, which means those more gifted than others in any one of the Spiritual gifts is to use his or her gift for the benefit of other Christians. And level of giftedness of any of the gifts of the Spirit does not make any Christian somehow "less Christian" than any other Christian.

Being what we call "legalistic" does not necessarily mean that person is not a Christian, much less a heretic. It just means they're... wrong about some things... <smile> They're probably just as trusting in Christ alone for his or her salvation as you and I are. At least for the most part, anyway.

"my people are destroyed for lack of KNOWLEDGE".

And that does not mean....."the defininiton of NT words". or "i can read the verses".........it means the Spiritual REVELATION is missing.

Let me show you how this works.
LOL! Ah yes... <smile>

Lets get a room, and bring these ChristianityBoard Forum members into it...........maybe 20 of them.....and 3 Mods.

I'll pick one Mod, and 4 members.

i'll ask them.

How are you saved,??? and hand them the Microphone.

2 will say...>>>"i was water baptized"

1 will say...."i keep the commandments and confess my sin"

1 will say......."I hold unto my faith"

1 will say.. " 40yrs ago I trusted in Jesus to get me to heaven, and i still do".

See that?

One person understands : Their SALVATION

Welcome to a "Christian" online forum. (All of them)........where you can't even find 11 people on it, who literally understand The Blood of Jesus as the New Covenant, or The Cross of Christ as God's Grace... or "justificaton by faith".....or "The GIFT of Salvation".
Yada, yada, yada... <smile> There are folks on here who have their soteriology quite wrong, but are still Christians.

The good news is........ those on this forum who do understand their salvation...... keep this forum from turning into a Hyper Calvinism or "cult of Mary" orgy, most of the time.
Hmmm, well, maybe, but there are some who actually shoot themselves in the foot with their "bazooka of knowledge." <chuckles> You sound a bit puffed up, Behold. And condescending, maybe... And possibly lacking at least a bit in humility. But that doesn't disqualify you as a Christian, either, though... <smile>

Grace and peace to you.

I have a question. What if the tare and the wheat is inside of us all. That which bears no profit being of the flesh. And that which is profitable being born of God. the two (weed and the wheat) where that which was born first is earthly. And that which was born last is born from above and is heavenly. For example the old me separated from God, and the take off the old man and put on the New man. If a tare never can become wheat then what of the belief that our old self, our old flesh body (tares)will be resurrected and transformed into a new body transformed into being wheat)? Does that make sense? If the flesh body is transformed into a spiritual body (that being a hope and expectation) then is it a contradiction to say that a tare can never become wheat? Or is the old body done away with?
In your own case, which was the real you? Being born with sin as our inheritance, we all have choices and reasons why we become “lost”. Remember that Jesus said he was sent only to “the lost sheep of the house of Israel”? Who were those ”lost sheep”?

Jesus preached to everyone who would listen, but only the lost sheep responded to his preaching and were taken into his fold. The majority sided with their false religious leaders and paid the price. (Matt 23:37-39)

How do the sheep get lost in the first place? Usually it is by circumstances beyond their control. For some it is poor parenting or example…setting them up to make the same kinds of mistakes…..for others it is the lure of immorality, or being succored into the drug scene by badly chosen “friends”.

The reasons for the “old man” developing in the first place is no reason why that old personality cannot be transformed into a whole new person….because the propensity was always there. God sees the heart not just the actions.

One who is bent on being bad and remaining bad with no intention or way to repent and turn around, condemns themselves because the “new man” is never sought and there is no reason in their minds, for a need to change. They like the person they are.

The Bible is full of accounts where the sinner repented, even of grievous crimes, and were shown God’s mercy…..but others were not. It was all about the condition of their heart.

How do the sheep get lost in the first place?
After Adam, who acquired that condition in the events of Genesis 3, all are born that way. As Paul says, "just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned..." (Romans 5:12). He's speaking of Adam, of course, who was the federal head of the human race. It's not his particular sin that we inherit, but the condition of his heart. This is the natural human condition, and even the condition of all of creation from that point. For a newborn child, it may take that sin a while ~ a short while ~ to manifest itself outwardly, but it is there.

...all about the condition of their heart.
That's exactly right.

Grace and peace to you.

The most popular view among Christian Infernalists is that those who die without having faithfully followed Jesus will be tortured by Jesus forever and ever.

I'm in the minority of Christ followers that believe that Jesus can and will save ALL in order to reconcile "all things" back to our Father in Heaven.

Colossians 1:20
and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Do you think Jesus lied when He said all things are possible with God in Matthew 19:26

That tis the question

The devil thinks all that Jesus said was lies because he is corrupt.
The devil continually seeks to deceive people in to discounting what Jesus said as being lies.

That's preterism for ya
no . JESUS did not lie when HE said all things are possible with GOD .
The question was WHO then can be saved .
This statment from JESUS simply implies GOD IS ABLE TO SAVE .
But as we both know one thing that is impossible with GOD , IS TO LIE .
And we both KNOW that GOD cannot lie , THUS CHRIST cannot lie .
Now to the trenches . OFten times people misinterpret things .
And as i am sure you are aware , Preterism is not to be believed . As i am sure you might very well agree with that .

Always remember never heed the RCC , never heed the lips of calivin either .
Course i could add a lot of names on that list as well . But i was just giving us a reminder . DO NOT heed them .
The one who knows Its simply TRUSTING IN CHRIST JESUS , is the man that is in a real safe and lovely place .
Cause HE alone is who one must TRUST . HIS words are TRUE and lovely , TRUTH HE IS and LIFE HE IS
and before abraham was HE WAS . now to the trenches one and to the trenches all
because the one true gospel is under DIRE attack and seen
by this generation as divisive and hateful even . BOY has the diverse inclusive interfaith love DUPED THEM ALL .

There is no torture." There is torment, though, for all eternity, in this place of "outer darkness" (Matthew 8:12), "weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 13:50, so this torment is in and of themselves, a consuming, internal sadness and anguish that will not be relieved, so in that way "their worm that will not die." (Mark 9:48). They will be submersed in this "lake of fire," which is to say they will spend eternity under God's eternal judgment. <shudder>

Well, yes, all things will be reconciled... one way or the other. Regarding people, some will be resurrected to eternal life, but others to the resurrection of judgment (John 5:28-29).

Grace and peace to you.

This article is helpful in my studies. Though it also refers to the Bible passage where Judas is referred to as the son of perdition.

However, if we read the article and we learn the meaning of son and perdition, we learn the Son of Perdition is committed to the destruction of all things holy and of God.

If we accept that Jesus told Judas to go and betray him to the temple authorities,go and do what you must do, I think it incumbent upon us to remember Judas was given the first communion by Jesus before Jesus sent him off to the temple elders.

And I think also in translation of the verse regarding the Son of Perdition we need consider we are told Judas was possessed by Satan before he went to do the deed.

So,if the Son of Perdition, for what the words son and perdition translate as,per the link , The Son of Perdition – The Standard Bearer Magazine by Reformed Free Publishing Association | RFPA, it then becomes easier to relate the Son of Perdition following he name of Judas in the passage would identify that Satanic possession of Judas.
And as we know, Satan is irredeemably damned.

Also, I think we might ask ourselves if Jesus, who knew and later told Judas to go and betray him after Satan had entered Judas, would give communion to Satan?

When prior to Satan entering him Judas was given communion by Jesus.

One last time. It says of those given to Jesus none were lost except one. Satan was not given to Jesus and Satan is not Judas. The disciple who was lost was Judas. Satan was not given to Jesus and then lost. It appears that your interpretation of the verse is being affected by doctrinal bias.

Wow, so God put in in to every little baby that was ever born?
“6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. ”

What about allowing tares to grow with wheat? What does that mean? I wouldn’t think that means allowing unrepentant tares to join a church.

Truly, unrepentant "tares" won't be saved. Just as non-tares that also are unrepentant won't be saved either. My point is that for this present world, God has given those born in the flesh free-will to make a choice, and that applies to the "tares" also. The difference is like what Apostle Peter and the Book of Jude points to the idea of the "brute beast" nature...

2 Peter 2:12-14
12 But these, as
natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
KJV

Jude 10-11
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not:
but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
KJV

God has put a type of 'nature' in them like "natural brute beasts". It suggests they have a 'natural' propensity to want to to do evil. They are represented in Old Testament times by the "workers of iniquity". In The New Testament, they are declared as the "many antichrists", and the "mystery of iniquity", which Apostles John and Paul said are already at work (since the beginning of this world actually). They are here to work the negative side of God's Plan of Salvation. They are the main instigators of causing Lord Jesus to be crucified.

One of the Biblical events we are not taught in Sunday School, and never even touched upon by most Churches, especially in Preterist type Churches, is how Satan tried to stop the bloodline that Christ would be born through earth on in Old Testament history, even starting with Cain who slew his righteous brother Abel. Satan tried to break up Abraham and Sarah because of God's Promise about Abraham's seed. And that continued with that bloodline, all the way down even to the time of Baby Jesus being sought so king Herod might murder Him.

So I am not denying that "tares" exist that have been ordained to be destroyed (Jude 4). I am only pointing to that idea of their "natural brute beast" nature they have been given that makes them want to be against Christ and His, and the fact that they still do have a free-will choice to turn from evil and believe on Jesus Christ and be saved. They have to overcome that 'brute beast' nature to do that though. That means if we in Christ are given the opportunity to help them overcome their evil nature, then through prayer it is our duty to at least try and help them. Yet it is still God's decision whether they can be turned or not.
