Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the antichrist is a single person. The word comes up 4 times (1Jo 2:18, 1Jo 2:22,1Jo 4:3, 2Jo 1:7) and it is always referring to a "type" of person that "confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh." This is different than the "Beast" mentioned in Revelation. Just want to clear that up.

Actually the " Beast " of Rev. are those that work for evil;the early anti-Christian Roman officials. You and many people misinterpret the Book of Revelation [ apocalyptic writing ].

Sorry, but that is not true. Someone's been pullin' your chain. The Revelation of Yeshua` haMashiach cannot be explained away by the events of the first century. Those events are insufficient to justify a belief that the book has been fulfilled in the past. A case in point: How does one explain the Second Coming as described in the events of Rev. 11 through 19? One would have to do a significant amount of "spiritualizing" of the text in order to say that all of that was fulfilled in the first century A.D.

Now, I'll grant you that there is a significant amount of misinterpretation of the Revelation; however, two wrongs don't make a right.

In 1 John 2:18 with John's first phrase about "antichrist", he was reminding them of how they had heard that he should come. That "antichrist" is SINGULAR in the Greek. The latter "many antichrists" he further covered in his last phrase is plural.

But obviously, many have failed English grammar in grade and high school and don't have a clue of that, but just keep spouting off men's doctrines pushed by false prophets in some of Christ's Church.

Yes, that's true that there's a "first phrase" that talks about a singular "antichrist," but the definite article is NOT there! It should be translated, "you have heard that AN antichrist shall come, and now there are many antichrists..."; however, one should also note that Yochanan's definition of what is an "antichrist" is definitely different than the definition many have for that term today, right?

I well recognize that John gave the definition of what 'an' "antichrist" is per the 1 John 2:22 and 2 John 1:7. But 'who' is the father of that idea of refusing Christ? Satan, the devil himself, for that's exactly what his sin from the beginning was about, denying the Father and His Son and instead trying to place himself in Their Place. Thus John also defined that idea with "the spirit of antichrist", which one cannot just say that "spirit of antichrist" originates from some flesh man. Because Satan's original sin was about his denial of The Father and The Son in wanting himself to be The GOD, we cannot separate that idea from the meaning of the word "antichrist" either; especially since in the Greek the word 'anti' also is used in the substitution for something else sense.

Perhaps, but the real problem is how prevalent the rejection of the concept of Yeshua` being the Messiah is, especially among those who call themselves "Christians!" Oh, they call Him "Christ," but most think it's just His last name! How awful for them to be so blind! Can you understand what it means for Yeshua` to be haMashiach Elohiym, the Messiah of God? He is the Anointed to be King! He is the King Apparent! They just don't get it! They think "Christ" means the "Savior of men." Some believe it confirms that He is the Son of God. Some feel that it means He IS God.

However, it is important that we understand that there was more than one "christ" in history. Since, "christ" = "messiah" = "anointed one," then all who were anointed in the OT were also messiahs or christs. The list of men who were so anointed include Aaron, Aaron's sons, and all who have been high priests. Several prophets were so anointed, such as Elijah, Elisha, and Ezekiel. Also, kings were so anointed, both of Judah and of Isra'el as well as foreign kings. Saul, David, and Solomon were all so anointed. ALL of these men were "christs" or "messiahs" because ALL of them were "anointed."

There are several prophecies that promise that there will come a Great One who will be the FINAL King because His reign will last forever, and it is THIS set of prophecies that Yeshua` (Jesus) fulfilled and will continue to fulfill when He returns.

Therefore, EVERY ONE of the "Christians" who believe that the "Church" replaced Isra'el in some way denies that Yeshua` will become the King of Isra'el as was promised to Isra'el. Thus, these "Christians" are "antichrists," by definition.

I've said nothing about my interpretation of Revelation. Nice try though. You're great at making straw men, I'll give you that.

No. The singular aspect is referring to the spirit itself, not a man. John may have had a man in particular in mind when he wrote this (Most likely Cerinthus), but he made is VERY clear that there are many antichrists.

Why make a big deal out of nothing. How about if we just call him the man of sin.

There are some on this forum who can't even agree on the meaning of the word anti-christ.

When God spoke to the prophets He spoke to them in the language the prophets spoke and understood. In this case that language is Greek. Anti-christ means two things. Against or instead of Christ. Call anti-christ anything that is in opposition to or adversary of Christ. It means in place of. And that's what the man of sin will do.

1 John 2:18 ¶Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

So what did John mean when he said,

it is the last time and they have heard that antichrist shall come???

Why would he say that even now there are many anti-christ, mention the last time, and then say that anti-christ shall come?

So at that time there were many anti-christ. If the little children had heard that "anti-christ" shall come...at the last time, they must have been taught this from Old Testamant prophets.

Both John's day and the "last time" are associated with "many anti-christ." The presence of many anti-christ are a sign that we are in the last days.

To me this say's that in John's day there were many AC's and in the last days there would also be many anti-christ.

So we know that the number of the beast is the number of a man. And we know there's also the man of sin. Two end-time anti-christ....plus the many millions who will follow him.

The anti-christ of their day were the Roman's. The anti-christ of the last days are Islamic. 666 means multitudes of a man. That man is Muhammad. There are about 1.5 billion of his followers on earth and it is "the last time!"

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Islam is the perfect anti-christ. They have a substitue for the one true God and call him Allah. A substitute for Christ called Muhammad and the returning Mahdi. They have a sustitute for the bible called the koran. Islam is the most oppressive religion in the world that murderes people who apostasize to another religion.

Islam has put Muhammad in place of Jesus by saying that Muhammad (not Jesus) is the prophet like unto Moses. Acts 7:37-40. Deuteronomy 18:15-19.

So what's the big deal???

How about this. He is called the beast who is anti-christ that has a seat in his kingdom!

Revelation 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

The false prophet is in charge of the beast (the nation). The one that says God bless you after every false Speech, and truly has no living god backing him..

All of them preach that they are kings and that their false understanding and perversion is God.

My how we see things different.

The false prophet is king over the prophecied evil religion of the last days. What people don't realize is that he is the one to whom 666 is attributed to and he brings the mark of the beast upon people living within the ten nation Islamic empire of which there may be more than one!.

We have to consider that in modern day we (incorrectly) use the word antichrist to describe the bad dude who will come during the end times.

It is almost used like a generic description , at least that is how I see it.

To properly describe "him" in revelation terminology is a mouthful at the best of times .... and would be hard to fit into a single sentence. .... so we just say antichrist.

All religion has been false ever since the first church was murdered. Those who murdered them have taken over the whole show and have written all the books and lexicons. This is why there are only two who bring about the end of the world. God will pour His Spirit out again starting with them. The true gospel of Christ will be preached as a witness to all nations for 1260 Days and then the end will come.

You have picked the wrong one to throw that Jewish rant towards, because what you're saying leads to the erroneous idea that only those who know Christ's Title in the Hebrew can be saved.

And just so you know, Christ Jesus, Yahshu'a, Messiah, is... Yahaveh come in the flesh.

John 8:57-58

58 Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."

Veteran has often made reference to the Beast being the Beast and not the anti-christ as there are multitudes of anti-chirsts. Veteran is correct, of course tat does not mean the Beast is not AN anti-christ. So with that, and altough I often referred and originally referred to the beast as THE anti-christ. I whave accepted Vetran's understanding.. so If i had posted or if I ever make reference to the Ani-christ, remember it is always to the Anti-christ also known as the Beast.

58 Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."

I like that, very good Vet !
