We are living in the last days, when the Lord will come back to take us home. But how will He come? Some people think He will come on a cloud, as He ascended to heaven. Others think He will come secretly, as He said: “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15). These two ways are quite different, but both have biblical bases. Is there any contradiction here? If not, how can we reconcile these two kinds of prophecies?

Yes, it seems so, as the Bible Teaches "things will wax worse and worse". I believe His "Coming
For us, The Body Of Christ, to 'take us home,' is part of Paul's Mystery, Different From His
Prophesied 'Second Coming' For Israel. If each is left 'In Context' then they harmonize!:

God's Great GRACE Departure!

Amen.

We are living in the last days because Jesus has already come. He will come again on the last day of these last days when the seventh trumpet sounds. His coming will be visibly seen, just as His departure from this earth was. Christ comes as a thief for those who are not looking for and expecting His coming.

Matthew 24:29-31 (KJV) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Revelation 1:7 (KJV)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-5 (KJV) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

No contradictions found in Scripture! It is only through erroneous understanding that forces so-called contradictions into the Word of God. When we rightly divide the Scripture, these apparent contradictions disappear!
