Oh blood of Christ a single drop for sinners spilt can purge the entire world from all it guilt!

mph holy face surrounded by crown of piercing thorn, oh bleeding head so wounded reviled and put to scorn, oh holy wounds that are medicine for our souls!

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

excellent video on meditation on all the points and considerations of the passion of Jesus Christ on the cross of salvation!

When my husband I watch 'The Passion of the Christ' we both wept buckets to think that Jesus suffered such agony and pain and he did that for us.

1 O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down,
now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, thine only crown!
O sacred Head, what glory,
what bliss till now was thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call thee mine.

2 What thou, my Lord, hast suffered
was all for sinners’ gain.
Mine, mine was the transgression,
but thine the deadly pain.
Lo, here I fall, my Savior!
’Tis I deserve thy place.
Look on me with thy favor,
and grant to me thy grace.

3 What language shall I borrow
to thank thee, dearest Friend,
for this, thy dying sorrow,
thy pity without end?
Oh, make me thine forever,
and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
outlive my love to thee.

4 Be near when I am dying,
oh, show thy cross to me,
and for my rescue, flying,
come, Lord, and set me free!
These eyes, new faith receiving,
from Jesus shall not move,
for one who dies believing
dies safely, through thy love.

It is gross ingratitude to not meditate on the passion and death of the holy savior!

Me, I am grateful every day for my Saviour's sacrificial love and wept when I watched 'The Passion of The Christ' film.

We also need to meditate on his resurrection and his continuing life. He is not dead he is alive and living in His Church.

1 O sacred Head surrounded
By crown of piercing thorn!
O bleeding Head, so wounded,
Reviled and put to scorn!
death’s power hue comes
o'er Thee,
The glow of life decays,
Yet angel hosts adore you
And tremble as they gaze.

2 I see Thy strength and vigor
All fading in the strife,
And death with cruel rigor,
Bereaving Thee of life;
O agony and dying!
O love to sinners free!
O Jesus, all grace supplying,
O turn Thy face on me.

3 In this, Thy bitter passion,
Good Shepherd, think of me
With Thy most sweet compassion,
Unworthy though I be:
Beneath Thy cross abiding
For ever would I rest,
In your dear love confiding,
And with Thy presence blest.

Most sweet Jesus, redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly prostrate before Your altar. We are Yours and Yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Your most Sacred Heart. Many, indeed, have never known You while many others, despising Your precepts, have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus and draw them to Your Sacred Heart. Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Be King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to draw them all into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Your eyes of mercy toward the children of that race, once Your chosen people. Of old, they called down upon themselves the blood of the Saviour; may it now descend upon them, a layer of redemption and of life. Grant, O Lord, to Your Church, assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry:

Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor for ever!!! Amen!

What does it mean to conform to his death? I know about proclaiming his death.
1 Corinthians 11:26
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

I praise Jesus, the Christ, for setting me free from the slavery of sin and giving me new life with a clean slate - making me a new creation. Blessed is your holy name oh father God, turn the hearts of the lost towards your Son Jesus; through the work of you Holy Spirit open blind eyes and deaf ears to the truth and power of the gospel of Christ and bring them from darkness to light, from slavery to freedom. And may the power of your Spirit lead them to a place free from sin and to reconciliation with Almighty God.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

  1. 1 Corinthians 2:2
    For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ andhim crucified.

  2. Galatians 2:20
    I have been crucified with Christ andI no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I can find only two references in the bible where it uses the word 'conform'.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

1 Peter 1:14
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus,
while before Your face I humbly kneel and,
with burning soul,
pray and beseech You
to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments
of faith, hope, and charity;
true contrition for my sins,
and a firm purpose of amendment.
While I contemplate,
with great love and tender pity,
Your five most precious wounds,
pondering over them within me
and calling to mind the words which David,
Your prophet, said to You, my Jesus:

“They have pierced My hands and My feet,
they have numbered all My bones.” Amen!

psalm 22 Isa 53 passion of Christ prophecy

THIS JESUS

There’s a baby lying in the hay,
Innocent and pure.
Do you see him?
The angel host began to sing,
As this child was born to bring
New hope to all mankind.

There’s a young man walking by the sea,
Innocent and pure.
Do you hear him?
As he calls out to the fishermen
To leave their nets and follow him
The Saviour of mankind.

There’s a young man hanging on a cross,
Innocent no more.
Do you need him?
He bears the sins of the human race,
Gladly dying in our place;
This Saviour of mankind.

There’s a young man risen from the grave,
Innocent once more.
Will you heed him?
As he leads the way to the Father’s throne;
This young man wants you for his own;
This Lover of Mankind

This Saviour who was born to die,
This God who made the earth and sky
This man who never told a lie
This Jesus.

This Saviour with the loving face
This God who saves us through his grace
This man dying in your place
This Jesus.

MY FOREVER FRIEND

I have a friend who walks beside me
On this path that is my life.
I know he will protect and guide me;
Comfort me in times of strife.
He is my rock; he is my fortress,
He is my king, my all in all.
He is my shield, he is my refuge;
He will catch me when I fall.

When my strength is all but gone,
And I feel I can’t go on,
He reaches out and takes my hand;
He lifts me from the searing sand
And carries me a while.

Until my spirit’s been restored
My Jesus, my redeemer Lord
Holds me close against his breast;
In him my weary soul finds rest.

And when he knows I’ll stand secure
He sets me on my feet once more.
I turn to look into his face,
Awed by his power, love and grace;
And regaining strength with every stride
I continue walking by his side
Refreshed.
