I really have no input but was musing over how divided our Christian world is.

Yes, very divided.
Although I don't think we should view differences in doctrinal opinion as division in the negative sense.
Meaning, differences in opinion don't necessarily amount to division, in my view.
Better to seek to understand each other than to invest ourselves in "correcting" those with different opinions.

One states this is "what it says "while another states but this is "what it means".

Should be room for both. The questions are MORE important than the answers to me.

I do believe we all have some aspects of indoctrination in our thinking upon the word of God.

Our individual religious upbringing leaves us with a lot of spiritual baggage.

However we should all be given to " swift to hear, slow to speak" in our addressing of others.

I'm on deconstruction mode. Eat the meat, spit out the bones.

Current standing is Theistic Agnostic. I believe in God, but I have a LOT of questions.
In my religious upbringing, skepticism was viewed as unbelief. We memorized Apologetics as answers to EVERY question.
I eventually found this to be lacking and disingenuous. The answers only rang true in the echo chamber of evangelicalism.

When a family situation left me to grapple with the question of a forever burning hell... that was the end for me.
No longer could I fully support the team that support that shameful doctrine.

I still attend church with my wife. It is more evangelical than I would like. But I can't expect them to accommodate me.
I say AMEN when I agree, and keep my mouth shut when I don't. - LOL

I add the word Theistic in front of Agnostic.
As I wrote, "I believe in God, but I have a LOT of questions."

My questions revolve around the institutions of Christian religion and the origins of the Bible.
I don't question WHETHER there is a God, but WHETHER we really understand Him.
Which is a question even Christians disagree on.

Although the Bible states there are many Lords, to God's people Lord is a title that applies to
Jehovah: Gen 15:2 And Abram said, O Lord Jehovah, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and he that shall be possessor of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?
As well as to Jesus: Luk 24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
