Why would we come here and debate issues with non-Catholics!!! This is a Christian website....is it not? Are not all Christians welcome here?

You Protestants debate with each other on here all the time. The reason you debate is because you all have your own truth about the same passage from Scripture. If you all agreed with each other you wouldn’t be debating. What is wrong with a Catholic having their own truth/interpretation about a passage and debating it with you? ESPECIALLY since you Protestants agree with some Catholic interpretations/doctrines.

Curious Mary
Hi Mary, I was catholic, so understand where you’re coming from...and agree that Protestants disagree with each other more than catholic’s ever did (Luther was a disagreeable fellow too). Proddy’s idolise Paul and berate catholic’s for idolising Mary!!

I stuck up for you because someone was what I would consider "mean with words"... however... I was NOT born yesterday.... I do not believe any Catholic coming into a thread about UNITY would have anything of VALUE to state as far as the debate of UNITY goes... because right off the bat... there is an uneven playing field...

Catholics consider themselves the ONE TRUE CHURCH.... that leaves all other protestant denominations on the outside...
Catholics are taught that the sacraments are EXTRA gifts given to them from GOD. AGAIN... leaving us protestants out in the cold...

So please do not attempt to play the innocent little Catholic woman with me... I am an EX-CATHOLIC...

Ofcourse this is a Christian chatroom and ALL are welcome... but NOT all topics are beneficial or uplifting... and I believe you came into this thread knowing that full well...

I do NOT agree with ANYTHING CATHOLIC... so don't YOU PROTESTANTS me... LOL... Like I said.. I defended you but I will not debate with you.
BE blessed.

I do apologize if you mis understood my question as to addressing the thread regarding your presence here ... I did so for the sake of the conversation... I am not interested in further following this thread.. or addressing any more comments... Catholicism is not something I am remotely interested in.... however...UNITY is.

"faith" as a noun?
Yes 'faith' can refer to the body of belief one holds.

Jude 3 (KJV) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Thank you. I have a feeling that SOME Protestants do not look on Catholics as Christians....:(

I just don’t understand that

Okay....so what I think you are saying is that no Catholics should be commenting on this thread since it is about unity and Catholics teach/preach opposite of unity? Do I have that right??/

Sincerely, Mary

NO you do NOT have that right!!!!!!.... and could you please respect the fact that I did stick up for you... however am not willing to debate with you... I feel that any question you might ask me has an ulterior motive... so forgive me for the trust issue.... My opinion does not matter... and I do respect I am a guest here.... Perhaps I will phrase it like this... If I was a CATHOLIC... I would have enough RESPECT for my fellow protestants to stay OUT OF a thread about UNITY.... because I would know that my definition would bring and cause STRIFE.
I really need to be done here... so this is my last comment on this thread...

I actually learned!
Thank you Nancy for your honest reply.

I think it is fair to say that everyone that came out of her (Calvin, Luther etc.) “learned”.

How does a Protestant explain away the fact that they all “learned” something different? Some like Luther still agreed with the CC on many things but he “learned” to disagree with the CC on some things. When does the learning process end? When you completely disagree with EVERYTHING the CC teaches?

Well, Thank You for sticking up for me. I do not recall when that was but if you say it happened I believe you.

Also, I find it bizarre that in a thread about unity you want to deny my attempts to unite with my fellow Christians. Can you explain your reasoning?

I don’t know what I did to anger you. Whatever it was I sincerely apologize. I pray that you will take into consideration the person that I am instead of the label after my name.

I just noticed you said that you will no longer comment on this thread so i will end by saying I meant you nor anyone else on this thread any harm. I would love to see the fulfillment of Christ’s prayer in John 17 before the end of my life.

Respectfully, Mary

Please refer to post #201 Thank you. I find it disrespectful that TWICE now... I have asked you to understand that I do not desire to be part of this thread ... yet you persist in asking me questions... Off to the lake...

We spoke at the same time... so sorry for the chastisement... I will address this... YOU @Marymog have done NOTHING to offend me.... I do not know you... I have admitted that Catholicism is an OFF topic for me... I wrote that on this thread I believe... not sure of the number... but I have a few topics I cannot discuss rationally and Catholicism is one of them. I am honest about that... and I am open about that... This morning I came in after someone was rude to you.... and I corrected them... got in trouble with them for doing so and then I tried to walk away... Somehow I have not been successful at walking away...YET

I do believe that Catholics are Christian because they believe in the trinity... they believe that JESUS is GOD... that in my eyes is the definition of a Christian. The sacraments are not something that I believe in ( obviously... or I would not have left Catholicism ).

I am not churched... therefore I do not accept labels... I am someone who believes in JESUS CHRIST as MY SAVIOUR... and MY LORD... I try my very best to follow His commands in loving my neighbours.... MY faith is deep... because it is all I have.

If you think you can offer something to the topic of UNITY... then by all means.... PLEASE do as that would be beautiful.

I am now going swimming... and I hope NOT to have to come back to this thread... LOL

Thank you for welcoming me. That was very nice of you!

First off he said that the Lords Supper was not talked about in the NT Church. It is actually in Scripture soooo I don’t understand what you are trying to convey to me.

Second off you can spew all the Scripture you want however I will never believe your retarded dictum and the Protestant men you idolize.

Third off you rarely spew scripture and when you do you twist it. But you do spew your opinion all the time which becomes very tiresome.

Yes, you can participate in the Eucharist. You have to decide if you want to belong to The Church or continue to revolt against it. Join The Church and you to can have life in you (John 6:53). Thus far you have chosen NOT to have life in you. Feeling sad for you.....

Keeping it real....Mary
ok well ty for making his point anyway; there is no term for the "'Lord's' Supper" in Scripture

I don’t have a clue what you just said and there is no reason to try and clarify. Thank you for your time.

Only to the degree it accurately reflects what it translates.

Yes 'faith' can refer to the body of belief one holds.

well i would tend to agree, even if i wouldnt put it that definitively

a translation cant be inspired?
The key I believe is that the Word is Living.
A translation would be inspired, if the translator were inspired by God to write it or speak it, or...? I used to translate a lot of documents over the years while working for Social Security, but at the moment I cannot recall one which I did as God inspired me to do it.
