Before He died. Does that change what Jesus said regarding blasphemy against the Spirit as having no forgiveness?

Tong
R1946

WE can't commit that sin.
That sin has to be committed in the presence of Jesus, when he's doing the miracles.
Jesus isn't here in a body now casting out devils, so you can't accuse him of what the Pharisees accused Him of to his face.

What a person can do now is blaspheme the Holy Spirit.
There are a few ways to do that, but this sin, is forgivable if you dont die first.

What in the context changes what Jesus said about blasphemy against the Spirit being without forgiveness?

VERY GOOD QUESTION! What in the context? The SCRIPTURES! Sin that shall not be forgiven must be the sin of rejecting the only Reconciler of sin, the only Saviour from sin, the only GOD who is mighty to forgive, and HE, is the God and Saviour and Atonement and Reconciliation OF THE SCRIPTURES, AND HE WAS THE MAN OF NAZARETH JESUS, the Well-doer, the Peace-Maker, the meek and lowly Son of Man God the Son God with us. And the bigshots the churchmen and the politician despised all that and rejected the very thought that THEY, needed such cheep and common doepa as grace and mercy from this pathetic. He just wasn't their class, He could never make it. He is just too much of an embarrassment for the elite. HE COULD NOT BE THE MESSIAH; he is far too lowly. And Jesus accepted their charges and often told them, Believe my works! He even raised the dead and drove out devils. And you know the rest. They refused to acknowledge Jesus by the Power of the Holy Spirit in SCRIPTURE witnessing of HIM and of the POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION.

Jesus didn't say anything against sinners struggling with sin and conscience THE RESULT OF THESE BIGOTS who ruled their conscience and conduct. Jesus condemned the holy hypocrites and justified the true sinners.

The sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is essentially the sin of rejecting Christ.

Right. Completely right, the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is essentially the sin of rejecting the Christ the Holy Spirit testifies to in Scripture -- EXACTLY BUT EXACTLY WHAT THE PHARISEES DID AND THE BIGOTS OF TODAY STILL DO AND WRITE BOOKS ABOUT AND FORMULATE DOGMA BY.

In other words, the sin against the Holy Spirit the sin which will never be forgiven the committer, is his LOOKING FOR ANOTHER SAVIOUR THAN JESUS CHRIST.

Wrong. Look up the actual biblical, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and stop perverting the word of God with man made junk.

Where do you people get this junk from? And don't you know God frowns very much on those who change the true meaning of scriptire to fit their own agenda? And in this case the agenda is to do away with the true verse because the real unforgivable sin is too hard for some to take.

Here is what you are doing by spreading false scripture. You cause people to Blaspheme the Holy Spirit, because to speak against the Holy Spirit is now ok and no longer an unforgivable sin because your lies are the true unforgivable sin, or so you say.

Wonder who God will hold accountable if they cause someone to commit the unforgivable sin in the way I just mentioned?

It was not the multitude that blasphemed against Jesus Christ and against the Spirit, but the Pharisees. And they did not blaspheme against scriptures, but against Jesus and against the Spirit. Again, regarding Jesus Christ, they blasphemed by the slander that Jesus is one who is of the devil and is not of God. Regarding the Spirit, they blasphemed by the slander that the Spirit that healed the man, the miraculous work of the Spirit through Jesus, is actually that of Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons, and not of God. So, the blasphemy is not against scriptures, but against 1) the Son of Man ~ Jesus and 2) the Spirit.

None of which they would have slandered, believed they the Holy Spirit witnessing of CHRIST in Holy SCRIPTURE. Or would you say they nevertheless would have blasphemed in whichever way they did, had they believed the SCRIPTURES inspired and given through the Holy Spirit about Jesus Christ? Would you?!

I hereby confess and witness for one, Me, Sinner, whom I know the Lord has saved once for all, Go in peace and all assurance that it is by Jesus, and by no one else, least yourself, through Whom and by Whom you are redeemed and saved once and forever, Jesus Christ of Whom the Holy Spirit attests IN YOUR BIBLE. You are not saved at the point of despair by your sense of guilt or sin, but by the Only Saviour, the only Lamb of God, the only Good Shepherd of his sheep, Whom God’s Holy Spirit witnesses to in God’s Holy Word.

No better post to stop with--your reply. Or one could just read again the Pharisees' dismissal of Jesus.

I would say the Jews in general believe in scriptures. However, they believe differently because they understood differently or were taught differently. They apparently knew not that Jesus is the Messiah spoken of in scriptures. To commit the sin of blasphemy against the Spirit, one must know of whom he is speaking against is the Spirit, who is God.

Its unforgivable : "in this world and the world to come", but its a specific sin, that was committed in the presence of Jesus, when he was on earth performing signs for the Jews and Miracles.
So, you have to be back then, accusing Jesus to his face... of having the Devil's power.

What you can do today, is blaspheme the Holy Spirit.
You can do that as a believer, and it'll get you rebuked by Jesus.

Yes! <<the Jews in general .. apparently knew not that Jesus is the Messiah spoken of in scriptures>>.
But their LEADERS knew full well; and they FURTHERMORE knew full well but never told <the Jews in general .. that Jesus is the Messiah spoken of in Scripture>> BY THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD IN SCRIPTURE. The leaders KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD the Holy Spirit <<spoke of the Messiah in Scripture> but they rather <<committed the sin of blasphemy against the Spirit, who is God>> than admit, confess and teach the Truth. They did not hate Jesus or the Holy Spirit so much as they hated GOD IN SCRIPTURE that much!

Regardless of whether or not we commit that, the point is blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

You are at the wrong - at the false point. ALL sin is sin against the Holy Spirit for no sin can man give in to which GOD through his Holy Spirit urges him not to do, pleads with him FOR CHRIST'S SAKE not to fall into or be subjected by and be ruined more and more. NO SIN, NO SINNER be he an elect or reprobate. Nobody can blame God for his sin against GOD, because He is always in the right and man is ALWAYS IN THE WRONG. So no matter what sin he does man sins against the Holy Spirit of God, and no matter FOR HOW LONG, Jesus' Power to Forgive sin is mighty to forgive every sin of God's child to the last moment of his life short or long.

All the restrictions the leaders of the church place on the sins of the servants of Christ are restrictions THEY have put on CHRIST and on the Power of his Resurrection which is the Power and Authority by which He laid down his own LIFE, and again TOOK UP his LIFE, which is the POWER AND AUTHORITY BY WHICH GOD FORGAVE AND FORGIVES ALL SINS-- sins against none other than HIMSELF in his intrinsic Being as God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, which is God's intrinsic and essential BEING, "according to the SCRIPTURES".

The Scriptures and the Spirit that breathed the Scriptures, "speak", "witness", "attest" and "testify" of and to "the SON", so that "speaking words against the Spirit" "speaking" in Scripture, speaking of the Son, is "speaking words" IN THE LAST ANALYSIS, "against", "the Son of Man", Jesus "witnessed" to and "testified" of and "attested" by, IN THE FIRST PLACE, the Holy Spirit that "inspired", 'dictated' and "breathed the Scriptures".

To be the proverbial 'sin' or 'blasphemy against the Holy Spirit', ALL these things must actively and acutely have been involved and conscientiously and authoritatively have been considered and studied and weighed and decided over before committed. No simple honest layman is capable of these daunting conditions. It seems to be the sin of popes and prelates like haemophilia is the sickness of the kings and mighty.

It's a specific sin, yes that was committed in the presence of Jesus, to his face, against HIM, when He was performing miraculous healings for the outcasts among the important Jews and they accused Jesus of driving out devils by the Devil's power and not by the POWER OF GOD'S SPIRIT PROMISED LOST SINNERS IN GOD'S WORD THE SCRIPTURES .. AND THE RELIGIOUS JEWS WITHSTOOD AND REJECTED AND CURSED : HIM.
You said it, <its a specific sin>. Now I say it; now you tell me it's not a specific sin??

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit can be to attribute what is of the Holy Spirit to the devil or his demons...

Such as saying that "tongues are of the devil" as I hear some people say.

People who say such things lack the fear of the Lord and the Lord Jesus will be their judge on that day.

I don’t have the same thinking. Israel’s leaders also did not know that Jesus is the Messiah.

I disagree. Jesus Himself made this clear when He distinguished blasphemy against the Son of Man and blasphemy against the Spirit.
