I'm really shocked that as a psychologist you would want the kinds of data produced by psychological testing to be available to the federal government--on ALL school children. IMHO, this is a type of abuse!
Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

I worked for Raytheon and E-Systems for years (both defense contractors), and the FBI has all that kind of information on me. I am now 74 years of age, and nothing of any of that has ever affected me negatively, at all. The same goes for my time in the Military and State employment.... And millions of other people have undergone the same sort of background scrutiny with no adverse effects..

That's been totally YOUR choice to give access to your info!! School children don't have a choice! Parents don't have a choice!
You don't know how this info on you could be misused in the future. This is happening to ex-military personnel.
I think it is important for a teacher to be informed of whatever special requirements of a religious nature need to be considered in young children in a school environment. My own wife's parents (very strict CoC) were dead-set against her even participating in a PE class where square dancing was taught. And what of Jewish or Muslim kids today? The teacher BETTER know!

Wow, you're missing the point about the possibility of personal data being misused. I honestly think that as a therapist you cannot be objective about this.
But I'm glad that I got this info out there for parents and grandparents who are concerned about this.

I only have one question here; how can they get around the HIPPA laws?
I'm pretty sure you will find the "data" is not available. It is only the objective opinion that is submitted. BTW, I am not a shrink, I just worked for one.

Good question! They also get around the federal Privacy Act and other federal laws like FERPA.
Edit: And the Hatch Amendment. More laws keep coming to mind as I sit here.

Halloween has provided some of the most treasured and sacred memories of my early childhood.
My Dad was too involved with work and church service to spend time with his little son. But I (age 5) was dressed up as a ghost and led from house to house, receiving abundant candy. As a shy little boy, I needed the companionship of my Dad and the friendly affirmation of homeowners of how cute my costume was. Halloween was also the occasion of one of my most treasured divine revelations. I visited Billy's house and was invited inside to get my candy. Amid all the lit candles, I suddenly became are of God's presence. God told me that, when I grew up, I would play an essential role in Billy's divine calling. I quickly forget about this revelation. But the memory returned to me years later when I was a college senior.
Billy and I had never been friends in school. But Billy had flunked out of high school, yet had been admitted to my university in what was called "A Mature Student Program." He had recently become a Christian, but was again flunking out, and so, he asked for my tutorial help. I set about equipping him with a power vocabulary for critical thinking and suddenly his Ds and Fs became As and Bs. I soon introduced him to the Christian girl who became his wife and years later I used my pull get him accepted into Princeton's MDiv program with a scholarship, where he won the thousand dollar senior thesis prize.
Bill lacked the grades tp get into Princeton. But God arranged for me to tutor the admissions director in Greek. When the subject of payment was raised, I asked him to accept Bill, despite his poor academic credentials. Bill was accepted and didn't disappoint, going on to get his PhD in New Testament and become a theology professor, and the author of several books. So God's guiding hand was mightily at work in our intertwined lives right from that fateful Halloween years ago.

I was born and raised in England.
Once a Christian I was very aware of halloween ..the Druid Halloween.
We lived is the south of England ..Sussex, and it was one of the centre of witchcraft.
Alex Saunders the King of the Western Witches lived up the road...No way, no how was Halloween , the real halloween and all it stands for 'imported from USA' Oct 31st is a very special day for the Satanists, as is midsummer day.
Alax Saunders met with us and asked us if we would not pray against them because his coven could not reach their power- peak because I prayers stopped them. And yes, they did actually dance around the bonfire naked and wait to reach their peak and be 'slain' by some demon power so they could each grow stronger.
My eldest daughter had Alex Saunders latest hight priestess again 14 in her class at school. Just like Christians , they aggressively evangelize , especially the young teens.
We were thrilled with he ( Alex Saunders) got fed up with us blocking his power he moved from our town.
Some Christians have no idea of the real activity and deny it.
One one Christian web site I got strongly rebuked by the Admin who told me I was lying and it is all "Just all good fun ".....the man is an idiot.
What got brought to England and Oz in the 80's + was that very concept of . "It's just fun for the kids" ...they sold that lie along with the Candy....doing the Devils work for him. Now we see Christians "having fun" along with the satanic...and they don't want to know.

Wow. That's some story. This really quickens me that I haven't been strong enough in opposing it in my family. I've heard Christians go back and forth with it so that I was kind of being middle of the road.
Years ago our town had actually discontinued it because of sick people putting razors in apples and poisoning the candy. I wish it had been abolished.
No I don't know much about it. Why are they compiling this information? Does your family homeschool?
That's pretty invasive. The teacher I spoke with told me they do the same thing in Christian schools - so the powers that be who want this info are targeting Christian kids as well. I don't know if it's in every Christian school.
I don't get why they want this information. Have you found that out? It's invasive to be sure. I was just told of something a school counselor did in a group talk in school and it was invasive into families. A friend's daughter is a school counselor and she told me kids are really troubled coming to her about their gender. It must be because of what Hollywood is pushing. She has suicidal kids too.
So what do you recommend - homeschooling?
And people don't think this kind of information should be known to the professionals working with the children?????? (BTW, that "friend" is already spreading third-hand hearsay information around, is she not? And now it is coming to us as fourth-hand gossip.)
