Tongues follows the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost comes through a praise from our inner being.

First repent, then when we finish repenting, ask God to fill you with the Holy Ghost, then begin to praise Him until you feel the power that Jesus spoke of in Acts 1 come upon you per Acts 2.

At that moment in your life, you will be in unison with the Acts 2 church.

After that happens, you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins per verse 38.

You can only be added to the church via water baptism per Acts 2:38-41....

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

The normal sequence is
Believe and repent.
Be baptised (with water)
In that baptism your sins are forgiven, the Holy Spirit renews you and you enter into the Church, into the New Covenant.

So called "Baptism with the Holy Spirit" is a separate action and has a different purpose.

There is no need to doubt just believe the Word of God!
How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13 GOD SAYS=

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be Saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto Salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be Saved....................

---------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------

An example prayer for those that have never talked to God!

Heavenly Father:........................................... ...............................
I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of
my Sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my
heart that Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have
Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe
that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now
to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and
Savior. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the
day's of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess
with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed
by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus Name, Amen

Hi GYSMYS,
Here we go again.

Jesus said "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mk16:16)
That's belief + baptism = salvation

Peter wrote: "Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you"

text shows that it is not saying baptism is required for salvation.

Baptism is the normal way God has given us to be saved. God can make exceptions should he choose to do so but we cannot.
Jesus' commanded the apostles “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." (MK:15-16).
Which part of that command says that those who believe and are baptised are not saved?

Peter wrote: "Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you".
Which part of that says Baptism does not save us now?

Pick one.....

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience....

Or ...

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also NOT save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience.....

Choose wisely

And what baptism is it talking about? It is talking about baptism into the spirit, it is not talking about water baptism which is just a sign, a proclamation. It has no saving value.

Same commission...Matt 28:19.

Is Matt 28:19 speaking of Spirit baptism per the titles?

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned....

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:...

Same commission.
Both are baptismal(water) commands.
