if others want to hold it on sunday , then i will hold it with them as well . SO LONG , well you know the so long .
It matters not to me what day one wants to celebrate . IF ITS TO THE LORD COUNT ME IN .
Just dont judge those who might not hold to the same days and same celebrations of certain days .
For the Kingdom of God is not in meat , drink or day , but in RIGHTEOUSNESS and JOY OF THE HOLY GHOST .

I know a guy who hasn’t set foot church in 50 years.....He probably does not own a Bible, much less does he ever blow the dust off of it and read it....his personality is so obnoxious he has no friends.....he routinely talks to his own Mother like she is a dog.....he has ran off two wives, one of which was a very sweet, kind- hearted woman.....he spends most of his days involved in pornography and is not Above having one- night stands with women he meets on porn sites.......

Having said all of that , he once surprised me when we were talking about False Religions and different “ Spiritual ” programs used to “ better” people who were troubled and/ or addicted to drugs or other bad, self-destructive habits.....he said of these man- made religions and programs the following: “ I don’t care what they do or say, if it ain’t got Jesus in it, it’s a waste of time”......

Since that time, I have never doubted his Salvation —- he May be among the “ Worst” , Carnal Christians That ever drew breath, yet I believe he is a Saved Christian ....
Why? I think he passed the test given by Jesus.....” If you will confess Me before men, I will confess you before my Father in Heaven”

He is an unhappy soul here on Earth ....he will probably have NO rewards in Heaven , and Judgement Day will be a very long day for him ....
He will likely shed many tears on that day and he will get in by the skin of his teeth, but I believe Jesus will wipe those tears and allow him to enter Heaven.....all because he met the bare minimum requirement —— he believed enough in Jesus to at least “ acknowledge Him before men” ....that’s enough to get a man saved.....

Any opinions about this out there?

" Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
(Mat. 24)

God is not mocked. we know that many have reduced the word of God to having no meaning at all except to encourage carnal behaviour. But we will reap as we sow. No one can take away from the truth without the truth coming back on us in condemnation.
Salvation is not the issue, anyway. Judgment begins at the house of God. The issue is what kind of salvation will we inherit, one of honour or one of shame and dishonour?

(Rom. 9:21) "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?"

God will give every man according to his works, don't be fooled.

You are absolutely wrong. Paul said we are to judge those in the church, and throw the sinner out the door if he’s living sinfully way as a believer, completely refuting your claim.

Co 5:9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—

1Co 5:10 not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.

1Co 5:11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

1Co 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

1Co 5:13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

You really need to read the Bible and actually learn what it says.

Christians are to be fruit inspectors of fellow believers.

I am asking if this man has shown enough evidence ( scant though it is ) to prove that he is Saved.....PLEASE limit these discussions to that subject....

He has shown that he is completely lost with a vain knowledge of scriptures.

"This people draws near unto me with their mouth, and honours me with their lips; but their heart is far from me." (Matthew 15:8)

Of course, it is up to the Church to judge its own.... Believers with major, gross sins are to be gently confronted and if they do not abandon their sins after going through the proper process described in the Bible, they Are to be ejected from the Fellowship until they straighten up....one gets ejected for Sin- not a lack of Fruit Production..... ....A married believer who cheats on his wife should be disciplined by the Church.....that is clearly a sin.....You don’t eject a man because he doesn’t show enough “ Joy or peace or long- suffering, etc....”...... these are Fruits of the Spirit....many of these can’t even be seen by the eyes of men, much less judged properly.....

1Cor3:13-15 clearly shows one does not have to produce “Fruit “ to be Saved......( referring to Works or fruits) Fire will Test the quality of each person’s works..... if what has been built survives , the builder will receive a reward....if it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss. But yet will be Saved.....”

Except belief by itself isn’t our part.

Repentance is part of salvation- Jesus said He came to call sinners unto repentance and said unless we repent we perish. Paul taught repentance toward God and faith towards Jesus is necessary.

Peter said repent and be baptized in Acts 2:38, and we must repent to have our sins forgiven Acts 3:19 - repentance means to change your mind about sin, be sorry for our past sins, and turn to God.

And scripture says if anyone be in Christ they are a new creature - Old things pass away, all things become new.

When born again there is a big change that comes upon us. We don’t continue the same carnal behavior - I believe the OP mentioned sexual sins, too, that would stop if he got saved.

Obviously, the word “ repent” is all over the place and if the Bible says “ repent “— DO IT !

If the Bible says “ Repent of Sins to be Saved “ —- do that too!

Unfortunately , nowhere in the KJV does it say “ Repent Of your SINS to be Saved” ..... Believing the Gospel is what Saves.....putting your complete Trust in Jesus to Save you is how you get made “ fit for Heaven”—— NOT repenting Of Sins.....

“ Repent” means to “ change your mind” .....it does NOT mean to change your heart , your lifestyle or your attitude—- that stuff will be taken care of later , on the other side of Salvation....and Salvation is what we are talking about here—- NOT Sanctification where God , over time, Transforms the “ inside of the cup “ and makes you a better person, practically speaking.....more “ Christ - Like” , if you will.....

Yep, I am sorry but the phrase “ repent of your sins to get Saved” can’t be found in the KJV .....there is a good reason for that.....one MUST be “ Born Again” to be Saved and repenting of your Sins will not get you there.....Faith in Christ will....nothing else

My on- going offer still stands.....find anywhere in the KJB where it says” Repenting Of sins gets you Saved” , and I’ll send you $1000 ......( hint: don’t waste your time) .....it just ain’t in there....

“ Repenting of Sins” is something great and it is something you will likely do quite often —— AFTER you get Saved.....

The way Jesus tells us to go:

"For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." (Matthew 7:14)

Many find the easy way (no more consequences for sinning).

Who was it that said that there would be “ no consequences for Sinning ?” It was never me.Nobody in these forums has talked more about God’s Chastisement in regard to Sinning than yours truly.... Nobody “ gets away “ with ANYTHING in this life.......Nor in the Life to come.....Sinning gets you punished here on Earth and you will “ suffer loss” in the next life.....

The “Narrow Way” is “ Nothing But The Blood “ Believers.....the Wide Path is full of all of those that ADD to that Blood....with ANYTHING! Like “ Lucky Repentance” and the 100% elimination of “ Willful Sins” .......

I don't believe in lucky repentance or that you lose your salvation over every sin

Not “ every” sin? Exactly “ which” sins DO you lose your Salvation over ?

Sounds like you are “ still on the hook “ for your sins....There is no True Joy in the life of a person who believes that way......I’ve seen both sides of “professed” Joy and “REAL” Joy.... One never gets Real Joy until they Rest in the Finished Work Of The Cross.....COMPLETELY REST......not by hanging on to a few sins that might “ get you!” .....Jesus PAID IT ALL ! Knowing “ THAT” is what brings true peace and joy .... and SURPRISE ! .......Obedience.......

Jesus said That If you Believed in Him...” You ALREADY HAVE Eternal Life”......

Back to the drawing board , “ thee Faith”......

Paul lists in many places the sins that can keep believers out of heaven. Gossip isn’t listed but being a drunkard, adulterer, thief, etc, are.

There’s no way to read the NT linearly from front to back and believe in OSAS - there are just too many scriptures that clearly warn that believers can fail.

In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul says they had heard him preach the gospel, had received it, and stand in it, and they are saved:

1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved,

That’s it’s right? Done deal, their salvation forever settled, end of debate, OSAS is true.

EXCEPT.

Paul’s next words make their salvation conditional, by warning them that though they’d heard the gospel, received it, stand in it, and ARE SAVED, that they can end up believing IN VAIN, ifthey don’t keep in mind all that he taught them:

1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, IFye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have BELIEVED IN VAIN.

What was it that Paul taught them that they had to keep in memory that he had preached to them, that can affect their salvation, and cause their receiving the gospel, standing in it, and being saved, to be IN VAIN?

He taught them that he has to control and subjugate his flesh daily, lest after preaching to others, he himself would end up a CASTAWAY - adokimos in the Greek. - a reprobate (rejected by God as one that failed the test).

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

By subjugation of his body, Paul refers to the flesh, the fleshly desire to sin, i e, commit works of the flesh, as seen in another of Paul’s warnings to the saints, to the brethren against being DECEIVED:

Gal 5:16 This - I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Gal 5:18 But IF ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:19 Now the WORKS OF THE FLESH are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell YOU again, as I have also told youin time past, that they which DO such things shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

He warned the brethren to examine themselves to see if they were still in the faith, or had become reprobate:

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Paul in fact gave warning after warning to the brethren, to be not deceived, about the consequences of living a lifestyle of sinning, such as being an adulterer, or drunkard, or thief, etc.

He warned the brethren that some of them were THIEVES because they’d defrauded their brethren, then warned the church against being deceived into thinking they could steal, or commit other serious sins, and still enter into the kingdom of heaven

1Co 6:8 Nay, ye do wrong, and DEFRAUD, and that your - BRETHREN.

1Co 6:9 Know yenot that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? BE NOT DECEIVED, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1Co 6:10 Nor THIEVES (such as those who DEFRAUD the BRETHREN) nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Notice in verse 11 he states that some of the brethren used to live that way, but stopped after salvation - but we’ve already seen that some of them were ALSO living in sin by defrauding their brethren and stealing from them:

1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

There’s no OSAS in Paul’s many warnings to the brethren and saints about living sinfully as believers.

Eph 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh SAINTS.

Eph 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Eph 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath ANY inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Eph 5:6 Let no man DECEIVE YOU with vain words: for because of these things cometh the WRATH of God upon the childrenof disobedience.

Eph 5:7 Be not YE therefore partakers WITH them.

God will give every man according to his works, don't be fooled.

True......but where Salvation is concerned, it is “ HIS” work ...... Christ’s Blood and Your Faith in that Blood....Nothing else for Salvation.....it’s a “ gift” , remember ?

Sinning gets you punished here on Earth and you will “ suffer loss” in the next life.....

Wilfull sinning will get you the same consequences of the unbelievers.

This is clearly written in scripture.

"On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" (Matthew 7:22-23)

"And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire." (Matthew 18:8)

"For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off." (Romans 11:21-22)

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Jesus: unless ye repent YE SHALL PERISH.

Once again.....It does NOT say “ repent of sins” .....

Try this—— when Jesus or John uses the word “ repent” try substituting “ Turn to God ” as the real meaning of the word...

“ Turning to God “ will get you Saved....” Turning from sin will just make you more Moral .....nothing wrong with that , but hell is full of Moral people.....Heaven requires “ Perfect” people.....you get that “ label” stamped’ on you by Faith in Jesus.....NOT by trying to Conquer Sin—- an impossibility in a Body Of Flesh like we are presently stuck in.....

not really an opinion, but an apropos verse from God's Word.

2 Timothy 2:19 (NASB) Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."

It is also “ clearly written” that if your eye causes you to sin, Pluck It Out! I suppose you never have looked upon a woman with lust? How come you have two eyes, Hypocrite ?
And what on earth is you POINT with all of these Twisted and taken out of context Verses? What are you trying to say?

If one does not abstain from wickedness will he be chastized or will he be damned ?
