Concerning the "original purpose", since when do we have 'authority' to determine that "original purpose"?

The Purpose of God for us is that we believe His WORD = the LORD Jesus Christ and all that Jesus spoke/taught/commanded us

Therefore it is our purpose to walk in HIS PURPOSE
#1.) John chapter 4 Defines that PURPOSE for us
#2.) Acts chapter 1 Validates that PURPOSE for us
#3.) Acts chapter 2 Authenticates that PURPOSE for us
#4.) the entire Book of Acts Determines that PURPOSE for us

#1 and #2 and #3 and #4 combine as a PERFECT TRUTH while we await the PERFECT to Come = face to Face with the LORD Jesus Christ

This 'face to Face" has a special meaning that BEGAN in Genesis and concludes in Revelation

1 Corinthians was written because 'His PURPOSE' for His Bride came under attack as it is here, even now.

The Apostle also writes, "I would like every one of you to speak in tongues" - vs 5

So... HOW anyone could conclude that this is NOT for the church today... is beyond me. !!!

"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

You correctly covered "love"

But notice that "love" does not stand alone nor apart from "faith" and "hope".

Now if we focus on the Whole Picture of 1 Corinthians about 'Spiritual Gifts/Blessings from Above' we then must
yield ourselves to the Whole and not to a single part.

What is equally as "beyond me" is how men feel they have ascended above the teachings of Christ and the Apostles,
thus making 'corrections' thru redefining the written words of God.

Example: 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 BEGINS with the exact TIME PERIOD of which the "Holy Spirit Gifts" will be Operating in.

In refuting this TIME PERIOD given by the Holy Spirit speaking thru the Apostle Paul, these men/women are saying the
exact same thing as the Serpent in the Garden = "did God really say?"

Why would The LORD "reveal to Paul" that "the sign gifts would cease" before His
Second Coming, IF 'that Coming' is when "That Which Is Perfect Is Come"?

Did He Make 'an error'? Why didn't He Just Leave 'Such A Statement' out to
"prevent Much Confusion" since they will continue until He Comes anyway?
( Sure would be a LOT Less "biting and devouring" over the Massive Confusion, eh? )

Perchance He Really Meant His Pure And Preserved Word, Which He "Has Magnified
Above All His Holy Name" is Actually "That Which Is Perfect" and that "It Has Come"
and. thus "the sign gifts Have Actually Already ceased"?

Also take a course in covenants 101. NOTHING ceases inside of a covenant, and we are in the New Covenant of the Spirit, so His gifts have not ceased.

When going through the times of my dad’s sickness and then death I would look for services that were pure Pentecostal. During those time I would take back with me a great, wonderful, and very much needed source of comfort. I would wake up feeling a great peace and joy when I should have been in great agony considering what I was going through.

That is a great testimony to the edification and comfort of a church service with the full operation of spiritual gifts.
