Rome is NOT going to be an empire again, because the old Roman empire was a PAGAN empire with Jerusalem only as a captive city. We're shown JERUSALEM as the ruling city of the beast, not Rome.
The only connection of Rome today with the beast world system working is with internationalist groups in Rome like 'The Club of Rome'. They are allied with the EU Socialists. But the EU is allied with Communist Socialists. Communism has been trying for many years to infiltrate the Roman Church, and has already to a certain degree with many Communists members in it, especially among nations in South and Latin America.
Communism's plan is for a one-Socialist Europe, to include Italy and the rest of Europe, from the Atlantic ocean to the Ural mountains. An American type Union of nations is planned for nations in the Americas. And a Pacific Union is planned for nations in the Far East, creating a 3 section one world system. It's called Tri-Lateralism.
The book of Daniel plainly shows that it was the Roman Empire (the fourth kingdom) that came after Alexander's Empire and no other Empire was to come after the Roman Empire. And it is that same Empire that will be around when Jesus returns. The Bible says the world will marvle or wonder at it. Why would they do that? Because just as yourself they thought it would never rise again. Its deadly wound is going to be heald.

The Fourth and last kingdom
Jesus was born during forurth kingdom and when He returns that fourth kingdom will rise again. The only difference is that when it rise again it will be partly weak and partly strong, symbolized by the iron mix with clay.

And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and
that kingdom will not be left for another people;
it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
Notice verse 44.....if the Roman Empire will never rise again then you would have one of two situations. 1. The kingdom of God would already be set, and has crushed all those kingdoms up and ruling over the Nations. 2. This scripture is wrong because the Roman Empire is dead and gone and Jesus has not returned. As the Jewish people were subjects of Rome so they will again. In fact, the Bible says that the Great tribulation will be a time of Jacubs throuble.
