Why do some American students sympathize so much with America's enemies?

I was watching some videos...and I have to say, this one kind of shocked me, because these students, being part of an experiment by a Jewish activist on campus, actually donated money to the Taliban, because they seemingly also hated American foreign policy and opposed American imperialism, and seemed to sympathize with its victims.

I kind of understand if people want to criticize "Islamophobia"...but this is honestly going too far, is this truly the future of America's next generation? People who despise America so much that they would casually shrug and side with its enemies?

No one could be so stupid ! giving the Taliban the time of day.
Oh hang on President Biden loves the Taliban and is powering up such as the biggest terrorist group in the world, I always knew that the Left were supporting them terrorist.
