It wasn't until the 13TH amendment was passed that many northern states banned slavery. So, by your reasoning all statues should come down. Thomas Jefferson had 300 slaves. Sherman wiped out thousands of Indians and almost annihilated all the buffalo.

Calling MAGA Republicans “semi-fascists,” staging the ominous red-lit “Dark Brandon” speech to warn about “extremism,” telling the unvaccinated his “patience is wearing thin,” mocking gun owners with “you’d need an F-15 to take on the government,” and labeling Georgia’s voting law “Jim Crow 2.0” all poured gasoline on the left-vs-right fire.

It’s still the politics of provocation—just packaged in a blue hat instead of a red hat.
